  1. Story Monday April 2 2018

"Last time I tried that" could also refer to the only time she tried, it's confusing but it happens, I'm guilty of it. With emphasis on "last"? Also, "new and exciting ways" ...
  2. Story Monday April 2 2018

Terra could have been born female, be genderfluid and simply decide she didn't need to change to do what she wanted and be what she wanted. If temporary gender changes are option in Magus world (which we don't know about ; maybe they have just permanent changes) genderfluid person would DEFINITELY use those. Also, her go-to argument for any discussion about males being stronger would be "whatever ... I'll change for the exams". Why would anyone of one gender want to turn into the opposite gender? Especially if they had contorl and knew it would be temporary? Baseball? "The last time I tried that" suggest she already have MORE than two tries behind herself, AND the "I'll stick with being girly" suggest more like "it doesn't work, I'll give up" than "I have no interest trying it". In my opinion, Tess was trying to turn into manly boy, but failed. She MIGHT be doing it just for fun ... but that's exactly what OUR TEDD was claiming ... so she might be genderfluid and just in denial. Although probably not as much genderfluid as our Tedd, who's close to 50/50. Aside from the long hair there, there isn't anything else about Lord Tedd that suggests attempts to look feminine, he's pretty androgynous though which is why I said more info is needed. Long hair and ... like ... meekness? It's not proof, but it IS suggestion. ... oh. I might've mixed those two Tess's together.
  3. Story Wednesday April 4, 2018

Definitely. In fact, he MIGHT've tried to wake her just to warn her to prepare and not actually ask. We can only hope. I would consider this at least as likely as "wake her up". In many cartoons, comics, etc. "oof" is a sound a person makes when they suffer an impact. I've always interpreted it as a meaningless involuntary exclamation, not a curse. (In a case like this where the character's chest was likely hit, it could simply be the sound of air being forced out of their body.) Or "sound of air being forced out of you while you attempt to say something so your vocal cords are 'on'". Now that I've actually read the commentary, Dan does say "...As such, there's hints of Elliot's default female form...." I forget what FV2 and 3 are but one of those might fit the result. (IIRC, FV4 is essentially FV5 without some bells and whistles) I though we were shown the other FV variants but not sure where ... Ground, not floor. Elliot knocked Magus out the window and then flew after him. They're both outside now, probably in the parking lot. Or more like ABOVE the parking lot. Well, Elliot is certainly floating, so maybe they both are. In that case the background in panels five and six should probably have clouds or trees make it clear. (That also would have been a simple and clear way to denote the change in location right away.) ... if Magus is not flying, he was quick to stand after panel 5.
  4. Story Monday April 2 2018

The fact that Lord Tedd's closest friends are General Shade-Tail and Nioi suggest genderfluid to me. This page does suggest genderfluid to me ... He could be genderfluid. He was acting pretty much like EGS-Tedd. He just had an active sex life. I don't think he has more active sex life than our Tedd now Tess seems to have enough screen time to establish her as a girly-girl. She would be the alternate-Tedd that's least likely to be genderfluid. Then why she was looking for ways to turn herself into a boy? The only thing we're sure of is that Lord Tedd doesn't have an Elliot for a friend, can only speculate that he either did and Elliot died, or they just never met. Or Elliot/Ellen might've died before they met ... lot of options.
  5. NP Wednesday April 4, 2018

Unaffected by her own over-self-control Susan could well join in more... ... maybe police ? Although if that's real police outfit and not some generic pretend uniform, it could be against the law to wear that outside.
  6. Story Wednesday April 4, 2018

The dialog doesn't really match that, but maybe Elliot will explain better on next page. Wouldn't really be good idea either. Even if Ellen CAN be woken, she would probably have serious headache and generally wouldn't be in good enough state to make so important decisions.
  7. NP Wednesday April 4, 2018

Not recently, but I suspect Sarah was the problematic one on start ... Also, debug mode ... ... actually with Hanma not able to test the spells herself, I'm surprised she is not begging them to test some stuff she's not sure about. Debug mode wand would be very useful for that. ... aaaand the card Susan wants is one we didn't actually saw in play (we saw how it looks, but didn't saw the effect). Of course, it's still something Susan wouldn't want complete, the list of cards Susan wouldn't mind would be very short
  8. Story Wednesday April 4, 2018

Didn't expected this. Elliot was already thinking if he should or shouldn't accept Magus arguments ... but then he realized Magus doesn't want to continue debate, immediately forget that and went to defend Ellen. In hindsight it DOES make some sense ... and, like, support the idea that Elliot is NOT able to counterargument consistently on this short notice. Also, not sure why Elliot didn't changed to "standard" cheerleadra ...
  9. Story Monday April 2 2018

Remember, at the time they did not have any options for permanently turning anyone into the other gender save the rather drastic one that would make the target permanently female. Also, then and now, Ellen's principal motivation was to not just be a copy of Elliot. Moreover, Ellen has never experienced gender dysphoria; she has said as much and she has studied the matter. Whether this is because she fully identifies as female or she like the current Elliot is 'gender-meh', we cannot say, of course. Magus is operating from the assumption that Ellen is like Magus' own case, which is a tall assumption. He is also assuming that none of Ellen's friends would have noticed or cared if she had experienced gender dysphoria, which is more than a little insulting -- they would at the very least eventually notice that she was unhappy, which in fact Nanase did. I suspect that ur-ellen is supposed to mean Magus.
  10. Story Monday April 2 2018

No, but I don't think Elliot would have become a perfect angel by the time he reached 4th grade if there was any need for that kind of parenting. I would consider it more likely than to turn someone to angel between 4th grade and junior school. It's much better than nothing. It may not be useful now, but there was serious lack of alternatives thousand years ago.
  11. Story Monday April 2 2018

Considering when Elliot met Tedd, it stands to reason that Elliot was always like that, hence Edwards comment that Elliot must have been born wearing a boy scout uniform. Elliot met Tedd in fourth grade and Edward might not really know him before that. What, you think there is no opportunity to parenting before 4th grade?
  12. Story Monday April 2 2018

I think Elliot's fine unless magus pushes the issue. Better still is something that builds down the confrontation. "It's ellen's choice.. You'd want that choice in her place. You wouldn't want even the right thing done TO you without your consent or control." Magus will push. ... and I'm not entirely sure this will build down the confrontation, no matter how good point it is. To clarify: "Ellen should choose" is not surprising. Magus might already think about such argument and be ready to it. Elliot turning to Cheerleadra can surprise Magus and make him rethink everything from start. I think Magus would expect her to attack and not really listen to what she's saying. NOOOO, let them fight, that will hurt less.
  13. Story Monday April 2 2018

They have a clue, but I think they ultimately believe that Elliot, and Ellen are capable of making their own mistakes without having to drill it into them. I think they were doing more effective parenting when Elliot was younger. Possibly they made Elliot the boy scout he's now ... or, at least, were ready to do something if he wouldn't be naturally so. But at this age, if you made some mistake in parenting it's usually too late to fix it anyway. I think Nanase might have a problem with it as well and not just Ellen going to another school. Definitely. And, well ... I would say that even if Ellen decided to stay woman just for Nanase, I would believe it would be worth it for her.
  14. Story Monday April 2 2018

This. So much this. This definitely needs to be said, if for nothing else to make Magus say why he's in rush. However, it would be better if it wouldn't be only argument. Elliot turning to cheerleadra and saying that he doesn't mind being woman now could be more effective in making Magus doubt his decision ...
  15. Story Monday April 2 2018

So Magus wants to go away NOW. Where? Back to his own universe that needs him so desperately? He can do that? Well, he got to the Moperverse, only that wasn't exactly his idea, was it? His plan is to "fix" Ellen and then split? Well, that does sound like Nioi after the nose beep. We don't know where (or WHY) yet, but he obviously is in hurry and Dan hinted that in commentary as well. I'm not sure I would risk it without manual. There are also less useful and more dangerous red shoes which could easily be mistaken for those ... especially considering the ruby slippers were originally silver.
  16. Story Monday April 2 2018

He might've been right for first week, maybe even until the second life. People change and Ellen did a LOT of changing. This should be the ultimate argument. Sure, Elliot were willing to travel a hundred miles to became male faster ... on the other hand, he was too lazy to spend night outside city to get rid of energy buildups few months later. ... yes. Well, Tedd can fix a physical transformation - but (assuming Magus actually uses a permanent-sex-change spell) since Elliot and Ellen don't know about Tedd's wand, until they have a chance to talk with her they'll think Ellen is stuck with her base form being male. That could be somewhat traumatic for her, particularly considering how being female is part of the foundation of the life she spent so much effort building for herself; even if she consoles herself with the fact that she has access to a number of ways of changing back to her original form temporarily, it'll be the cause for some introspection. Yes. And Elliot definitely couldn't point out the wands existence to Magus because he doesn't know about it. The problem is that Magus plans to leave the facility in different direction than Ellen. He doesn't want to escape with them and later go away, he plans to go away NOW.
  17. NP April 2 2018

Must've been hard for Susan to admit it like this.
  18. Story Friday March 30, 2018

I think her nightmares prior to Painted Black hinted at that form being a thing. and Nioi even commented about Grace's lespuko side no longer being dormant. That only proves that Lespuko is part of that form, not that it doesn't have Jeremy as well ...
  19. NP Wednesday March 28, 2018

First, that wasn't Michio Kaku, that was the commentator. Second, he said one percent - that MIGHT be true.
  20. NP Friday Mar 30, 2018

Acting without thinking could have consequences that Susan probably wouldn't want to deal with though. She seems to be trying to minimize the amount of embarrassment for herself. Which would be reason to not choose it. However, the appeal is there and she may be thinking about it.
  21. Story Friday March 30, 2018

Grace had the Omega form by then, she could use it and telekinesis to fly and move things. ... I though Omega form DOES include Jeremy form, just like Legion form ... And note that while Grace can use telekinesis, she's not THAT good with it to move the couch with it ... and definitely not easier than manually.
  22. NP Wednesday March 28, 2018

I seriously doubt it. The peak of that noise is on 160.23 GHz, while terrestrial television is using frequencies under 250MHz. Also, I'm sure there is plenty of other sources of radio signals much stronger than this noise on Earth, starting with all those TV and Radio stations.
  23. Story Friday March 30, 2018

You're entitled to your opinion, but I doubt if you share it. Being female is the very first thing that distinguished our Ellen from Elliot. Moreover, all her Second Life memories are of being female. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Magus' attempt to turn our Ellen male would backfire, turning himself back into a woman. Magus has been assuming that all his old magic works in the Moperverse. All he really knows is that everything he's done in the three-odd hours he's had his magic back has worked. The only reason I can see Ellen turning male now is so Nanase can have children. It's unlikely she would ever want to be turned to male permanently, but in EGS it DOES seem weird she is never turned male temporarily. Sure, making Nanase pregnant is only serious reason for that, but she SHOULD have at least some training ... or they end up needing Grace. Yeah it shows Elliot saying that a man could be better at doing a particular task, but instantly subverts that statement by asking Nanase to do it. Mind you at that time everyone was female and so Nanase likely would be considered the strongest one there, but Grace probably could have beefed herself up as well though. I suspect Nanase would be the strongest even if everyone WOULDN'T be female. Maybe with the exception of Grace changing to Jeremy form (or something which includes it). There is some evidence suggesting that in several areas of the brain - some of them being areas where the bell curve rules - there are small structural and biochemical differences between male and female brains. That these differences develop due to hormone balances at certain points in gestation - not all at the same time, and not at the same time that hormone balances affect the development of internal and external genitalia (which also aren't at the same time, or even the same hormone chains - see androgen insensitivity syndrome). With these things happening at different times, it is entirely possible to get a typically-female brain in a typically-male body (or vice versa), or a mixed-gender brain... But "fixing" this is not just a matter of excising something defective. It seems quite obvious that if both males and females HAVE those areas and they are just wired differently, you can't "fix it" by removing something. You need much more precise instrument, capable of rewiring parts of brain. Nanotechnology. Human brains are surprisingly flexible and can survive even massive damage. Thousands of people survived lobotomy. Unless those areas are near the bottom of brain, I don't think the death rate would be that big. ... but, obviously, just because most patients would survive doesn't make it good idea.

Energized made her hyper and seemingly impatient, I don't that would appeal to her. She had fun and didn't even noticed how her outfit looks. ... ok, that MIGHT've been also caused by Honey Badger ... She liked the feeling to act without thinking.
  25. Story Friday March 30, 2018

Terra flying might actually be avoiding physical confrontation. This might be an unintended consequence of Les Immortels keeping him away from the Dunkels. He wouldn't have been there for the sort of heart-to-heart conversations Elliot and Ellen have had in their shared bedroom. ... and that may be not only thing he missed. NOONE present knows that Tedd could make permanent change wands. In fact, I would assume that they could've just let Magus "fix" Ellen, bring her to Tedd and Tedd would safely reverse whatever would Magus do to her, BUT noone knows that. It would be rather nicely ironic to have Mr. "I Became A Man To Be Stronger" beaten by the super-powered female form of someone who spends most of his time in male form... Not just the super-powered female form of someone who spends most of his time in male form, but the super-powered female form of him from another universe. It would be as definitive evidence that his belief is flawed as one can get without involving time travel and divergent timeline shenanigans. Yup, that totally should happen. Switching sexes might be accepted quite well in his universe, but I don't think his reasoning is. Possibly, majority believes that battle mages should be men, but it's not overwhelming majority and Terra is not the only one who believes otherwise. Magus DID got into multiple discussion about this topic, not only with Terra, and didn't always won those debates ... When did Magus learn about Jerry/Zeus? Does Magus even know about Jerry/Zeus now? Is there anything in canon or in Dan's tweets (I'm not on Twitter) that indicates that Magus was watching Ellen or anyone else before Sirleck used Ellen to zap Elliot? And is there anything hinting that Jerry/Zeus knows about Magus or ever knew about Magus or Sirleck? Magus may not know Jerry/Zeus by name, but he would DEFINITELY try to stay away from him, due to his experiences with immortals. I would consider sure that he was not around when Nanase and Ellen were Charlotte's angels. Yeah he saw what Nanase did. But he also believes he's still stronger than Nanase despite that. I dunno if that's simply arrogance that Nanase's female and thus less of a threat, or if it really is because he has a wider selection of spells or because his magic can counter hers because of how different it is (like Magus could easily put Nanase to sleep and she couldn't resist it), I mean it's apparent there's the sense of "males are better mages" arrogance, but whether he could actually beat Nanase may or may not be true. Hmmm ... right, he must've saw what Nanase did in Sister II ... but might be too arrogant to take it into account. The guardian spell DOES have several obvious disadvantages ... Even that isn't something which should be done without patient consent ... Note that even if we assume that gender identity is a mental problem, it still wouldn't mean it can be fixed by taking a chunk of the brain out. The problem might be in some chunk being missing. (Gender dysphoria does sounds like something which should be theoretically possible to fix and make everyone genderfluid - or more like gender-meh - as they should be. Next step, make everyone bisexual.)
