Will you still think that if, next time Grace tries contacting him, he slips when running and falls some stairs? I simply don't believe Grace has any way to contact him which wouldn't make him even more scared than he is. Which can have two very negative consequences: 1) He injures himself, as I mentioned. 2) He stops seeing Sarah out of fear Grace would be stalking them. And, obviously there is third option, which, while not as bad, still isn't exactly good: 3) He will tell Sarah Grace is stalking him. Depending on wording and how much Grace tries till then, he may tell it in way Sarah's relationship with Grace will be negatively affected ... and if not, Sarah will get suspicious.
-
I see your angle, however ... While Grace have additional senses and better understanding of social dynamics that would match her upbringing, and while seeing it from her perspective make her looking like hero, she's still mortal and might be mistaken, and therefore shouldn't make decision like this without Sarah. She should check if Sarah NEEDS protecting. Aaand, maybe mention she feels like Sam is avoiding her. If, during communication like this, Sarah would press the matter and make Grace tell the secret, ok ... is much better than telling her directly. Well, sure, but he has no way of knowing that, and probably very bad experience from his previous tries.
-
Ok, totally forgot about that. ... true, blue pencil would count ... THOSE I did remember - those were in the "stuff like that".

Trademarks don't enter the public domain due to age. True. They also don't automatically work internationally. I don't think any current country honors trademark registrations from any country existing three thousand years ago. Madrid didn't exists back then.

"Regress" is ugly word. Excessive wealth makes people more themselves, instead of pretending to be productive members of society like most adult do. Also, of course Nanase have sword like that. Or two. Sounds exactly like the kind of artefacts she could find in previous dungeon crawls. Not for me. Sacked? He's moving from "hammered" to "axed".
-
I don't think Sam would appreciate the irony. Or should I say "will"? Trying to call him when he's obviously trying to avoid you sounds like "give up, I WILL find you". Seriously? It may not be against law, but it surely isn't ethical.
-
Dan used to put a lot of his concept sketches and colour tinkering.in the sketchbook section in the early years, I consider this to be part of that group. Those sketches were mostly concepts and not sketches as part of process, later made into full images. Although that color thinkering example might count.
-
That one's to show how Dan shades the comics, which is nice cus he doesn't show the process very often. (not) very often? You mean this isn't first time? ... well, ok, unless you count the comics with different eye size and stuff like that ...

Sorry, I meant that in the sense of "get a college degree because jobs that require a degree usually pay more than jobs that don't". Archaeology and other academic careers pay a lot less than business management or practicing law or medicine, but still tend to pay more than most jobs that you can walk straight into from your high school graduation. ... you mean there are still jobs which pay more if you have degree, no matter what degree it is? In that case yes. ... I though most people with degree in fields like archeology end up in McDonald ...

Sketchbook Thursday January 3, 2019 (Topsy Turvy)

Nice theory, but I don't believe it would be able to make Susan THAT bubbly. Nah, that's form switch. Now, what would convince Susan to do it? Obviously it was Grace's idea ... aaand I suspect it's some sort of prank on someone. -
If Sarah continues to be Nanase's field assistant, even if she goes out 4 times in a year, donating half her earnings in that year would probably get a building named after her. I meant from Nanase. And yes, the university probably IS named after her.
-
Catalina also didn't knew about the magic hammers. For Asgard! Sooo, another strip where we don't see if Sarah is missing part of clothes now ...
-
Heh. I imagine a university would get rather annoyed if a professor kept having teaching assistants who dropped out of school because they'd suddenly gotten rich. Nothing which couldn't be changed by little donation. I find unlikely anyone would choose archaeology for better-paying career. Maybe except Nanase Craft ... Not surprised.
-
So far. Noted. Makes hard to raise the count, however.
-
Unlikely, considering he had no way to know she would be in mall. And, note that he had no chance to see anything from Ellen EXCEPT the hair color which makes unlikely it's Sarah. Hmmm ... considering his experience with Grace ... maybe he is just running because he doesn't want to be hugged?
-
From the commentary: " Nanase Craft tends to go through assistants rather quickly. Many assume it's because her work is dangerous, but most of them just reach an "I'm good, thanks" point after just a few jobs at most. " This implies that this may be Sarah's first expedition with Nanase. It also implies that many of Nanase's contracts paid out very well that even a 30% cut for the assistant was still good pay. I agree that Sarah wouldn't have been freelance, but she might have been working in a research department of some university or something and took this as a side job cus she had time off that needed to be used. I said this is her first dungeon crawl (or expedition). But Nanase Craft isn't doing expeditions all the time - she needs some hints where to go to, at least, and it seems that she needs even more - someone willing to pay her for that. Which opens option that Sarah was working for her for some time already, in more mundane position or with more mundane job description. Or, like ... maybe Nanase Craft is teaching at university between adventures - Indiana Jones was. So Sarah was her assistant in that position (paid by university) and then took the offer to also assist her on dungeon crawl. And she wouldn't be first assistant doing that.
-
If it was $3k, and say the expedition took a week tops (including prep work and travel time), assuming she got similar archeology jobs every month, she'd only make between $36k and $144k a year (the top end assuming she was able to get a job every week at $3k each). Sarah could live off the low end depending on where she lives, somewhere towards the high end would be preferable but she wouldn't be guaranteed to find work that often, and she'd probably be spending more time working than at home if she did. At $3mill though, Sarah could comfortably take the rest of the year off, or take jobs whenever she felt like it, if she sticks with Nanase and got a couple jobs like this a year, she'd definitely have it made. Note that Sarah is Nanase Craft's assistant, not freelance assistant. I'm sure her previous work didn't paid like this - in fact, it paid bad enough she was willing to risk working for Nanase Craft. From context, maybe she was hired for "normal" pay for normal work with bonuses for dungeon crawling, and this was her first dungeon crawl: seems there was some although not much time for them to know each other. You could end up being eaten by wolves, there could be spikes or poison gas when failing the puzzle. Even assuming the transformations are always this safe, dungeon crawling can be risky. Not speaking about fact that you could die before getting to the dungeon because those tend to be on hard to reach places ... note that Dan said most assistants reach an "I'm good, thanks" point after few jobs. Maybe some minority is dead.

Hmmm, that "Girls who have kissed Sarah count" has been at 3 for far too long. Ellen, Grace, and Elliot...would a friendly peck on the cheek and/or motherly kiss on the forehead from Pandora count? Is there some way to arrange a kiss from Ashley without it being weird? Ah, if only Tedd had been a girl in that "The Dangers Of Clone Form Pranking" sketchbook! (I'm only counting canon, on-screen kisses here, we all know the OT3 means the count is probably at least at four by now.... ;-) Hmmmm ... would Sam count?
-
I was saying 3000 is not much. Also, I suspect quite lot of Nanase Craft assistants get to the "money are good but only if I can actually spend it" phase ... it's not like the dungeon crawling ISNT dangerous ... ... ok, the third panel was worth the joke with clothes. (Although Halo had even funnier reaction to realizing she's rich.) ... but yes, I think she should return to wearing actual clothes. Especially if it turns out there is fewer of them now. BTW, Happy new year!

Or it might indicate that he's more up for sex when he's a she. http://egscomics.com/comic/2005-10-15 http://egscomics.com/comic/2006-01-20 http://egscomics.com/comic/2006-02-15 http://egscomics.com/comic/2006-05-31 Well it's true he doesn't need to worry about pregnancy then. Sarah is different in that, while they are good friends, the things they want out of a relationship are just too different, Sarah didn't care much for Elliot's transformations and Elliot (at the time) was more comfortable with just hanging out rather that doing something new. With Ashley though, Elliot was able to have fun with transforming and on the plus side, she's someone who is also comfortable with just hanging out. Yes. Elliot tried transformation with Sarah and Sarah got angry. He was dating Sarah when the crap with Damien happened. The crap keeps happening all the time Hmmm, Elliot managed to get two dates with Ashley, if he would be trying Susan I suspect he wouldn't get anywhere in that time. So, his chance to get Susan talk would be same as is now.
-
Well, this might indicate that he is treating her differently than Sarah. ... I definitely hope he wouldn't treat little sister like that. Problem with Susan is that she's nowhere near ready for relationship. Although she's working on it.

Good point, it would be Goonmanji 4. ... I think it would be safer to keep the plays single-gender. And Dan already mentioned (in addition to Mrs. Dunkel and Mrs. Kitsune) the other players would be Mrs. Pompoms and Mrs. Brown. ... Edward and Mr. Dunkel would be Goonmanji 5 ... probably with Mr. Kitsune and Mr. Brown, although it might be interesting if Adrian Raven or Tolkiberry would play ... -
I totally missed the fact that she kept the figure in the last strip as well, even before I read the commentary I was like "wait she still looks very curvy there". It's hard to notice as Nanase is quite curvy even normally. It will be much easier to notice on Sarah. I meant "would".

... first. Goonmanji 3: The Parents. Starting with all parents as themselves and then, gradually ... well, this. -
I think Grace only had the monster in her dream be part Griffin because of the context that Tara did try to kill Elliot, but the circumstances of that were such that Tara herself would probably consider herself a monster if she had succeeded only to find out Andrea was never in any danger and Elliot had nothing to do with her not returning home. I think that's also why Grace had the conflict of whether or not to fight because if she was there, and ended up severely hurting or killing Tara, then finding out that she was being mislead and only wanted to find her wife, then Grace would think of herself as a monster. It's bad enough that she felt that way after killing Damien. All good points, although it doesn't answer the question if Dame Tara should take offense. It's not really as effective as it would have been if Grace had actually been thinking about that subject and not about Sarah and Sam. As we see, she's thoroughly confused. It seems that Grace and Ellen have been having trouble communicating though, I hope it doesn't become too much of a problem. I think that Grace and Ellen are communicating much more than shown and they actually ONLY get to communication problems like this because they think they know themselves. I mean each other. I think Grace wouldn't even try questions like this on someone else. Totally know the feeling, there've been times where I'd be looking for a particular comic to link in a post, and get sucked into reading an entire arc or two, even passing right by the comic I was looking for. Happens to me sometimes when finding the references as well, but seriously, it's not AS bad as TV Tropes. TV Tropes can get EXPONENTIAL.
