Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)
The Old Hack replied to ProfessorTomoe's topic in Off Topic Discussion
To be fair, some of these tombs saw construction during times of financial hardship. At least one dynasty found itself so impoverished that the only kind of curse they could afford to put on their grave chambers went along the lines and power of 'bugger off.' -
Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

While entirely sensible and important for the environment, this is all too often only a bandage solution. As several recent movies have shown, idiots keep exhuming and unwrapping the skeletons in question. -
And here I thought it was started by someone holding a beauty contest where the winner got an apple.

Oh come on. He is obviously Morgan Freeman.

All right, all right. I'll pay you two thousand credits, and fifteen thousand when we get there. But no Imperial entanglements!

Write him a letter and tell him I am going to want my time machine back!

Quite the contrary, actually. Makes you feel stupid. I hate it when I pull that sort of crap on myself.

Les XXIIIes Jeux olympiques d'hiver
The Old Hack replied to Pharaoh RutinTutin's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Well, there's events like the 2015 to 1993 speed bobsleighing and the no-holds-barred Build A Snowman Suit For Your Tardis. -
Well, I hear they were behind El Cucaracha...

I just had a rather disconcerting thought that might shed light on WoM's attitude. What happens when it finally selects minor changes and going public? For one thing, that could result in magic not needing to change ever again, rendering the Will at the very least partially obsolete. It might be a situation where the existing Will of Magic retires -- or dies -- to be replaced by something else that is then put in charge of the new paradigm. Possibly something like Immortal death and reset. This could help explain why the Will is taking a lot of convincing.

Because it wouldn't happen on a Sunday. It'll be just another manic Monday.

Oh, it is. Our public transport system is quite decent and you can get nearly everywhere on bicycle. But during rush hour everything is still packed.

I know the feeling. Logistics just told me I couldn't have five fusion powered tanks for mowing my lawn. In fact, the buggers wanted to know why I would need even one fusion powered tank for mowing my lawn.

You guys are super soldiers, aren't you? A few flurries ought not be a problem for the heroic Dorsai.

Les XXIIIes Jeux olympiques d'hiver

I don't know, but I've decided I don't want to be on Team Laxative. I'd spend every mile desperately racing for the next toilet. -
It seems possible, at the very least. I wonder where this will lead Tedd. I suspect not quite in the direction that Colonel Sanders wanted her to go.

Les XXIIIes Jeux olympiques d'hiver
The Old Hack replied to Pharaoh RutinTutin's topic in Off Topic Discussion
There is so much drug and doping crap going on with Tour de France that I once suggested that they just give up, rename the whole thing Tour de Pharmacie and have the pharmaceutical companies be sponsors for the team. And each team be named for the drug they were sponsoring. So we had the Aspirin Team, the Viagra Team, the Ecstasy Team, the NyQuil Team, the Ambien Team... -

On the Pacific? Absurd, artillery would have to be deployed on the Mare Martialis. -

Slightly overkill and also it is somewhat hard on the ice to attempt to emplace even light artillery on a curling field. -

No. Clearly it should be part of curling, ice hockey and bobsleigh. I also think it should be upgraded so as to be played with miniguns.
