  1. Extra Omnes

I've heard that India has a lot of Roman Catholics. Whenever they have anything, they have a lot of it. They have a significant Christian segment of their population. The RCs are the most abundant Christians. Heard this bunch of stuff from a Pakistani woman who keeps abreast of these things. I've also heard (elsewhere) that there are more Anglicans in India than in Great Britain (going back to, 'whenever they have anything, they have a lot of it). They also have an indigenous Indian church credited to the Apostle Thomas, AKA 'doubting Thomas'. When the British invaded India, they were surprised to find there were already Christians there. They are also the main remaining location of Zoroastrianism; the proponents fled from Persia to India centuries ago. Of course, all dwarfed by the Hindu segment of their society.
  2. Generic Table top gaming.

The GM's closing comment is priceless.
  3. Comic for Tuesday, Apr 22, 2025

That would be an interesting twist if the fairy godmother attends.
  4. Sad news

We'll have nun of this talk about being flat.
  5. Sad news

I think there's been four in my lifetime. I seem to recall one passing away when I was young, then the German guy took over in maybe the '80s, then Francis, so 4 so far and one pending. I wonder if Cardinal Secolla will be made Pope?
  6. Random. Just Random.

She blinded me with science fiction! https://www.gocomics.com/brewsterrockit
  7. Sad news

As a observer without a horse in the race, Francis seemed better than your average Pope.
  8. Comic for Friday, Apr 18, 2025

Should he not have a major grudge against Pandora? He doesn't seem like the type to let things go. If he figures out who Hope is, that could be badtm. Also, it seems like he accomplished his rules change. What is his current goal?
  9. Comic for Wednesday, Apr 16, 2025

    He is definitely about appearances.
  10. Political Discussion Thread (READ FIRST POST)

That took some unpacking, but, yes, that works. "This tariff will save us a million dollars!"
  11. Political Discussion Thread (READ FIRST POST)

The silver thread suggested to me "What Bond villain is Trump?" I'm thinking Shitflinger, but Jaws is good, too, because clearly the man can't shut his trap. Musk would be Blohard.
  12. Comic for Wednesday, Apr 16, 2025

Voltaire with the crazy eyes seems both more like you'd expect him to be, and yet disconnected from how we've seen him. Due to changes to immortal law?
  13. Comic for Wednesday, Apr 16, 2025

Pandora may have been the source.
  14. Comic for Monday, Apr 14, 2025

I saw that; it was also a subtitle in Predator II, "He's in town with a few days to kill." In that case, it meant people.
  15. Comic for Monday, Apr 14, 2025

If killing time counts, they are all in danger.
  16. Comic for Monday, Apr 14, 2025

Voltaire is a loose cannon among a class of beings that are all loose cannons. Ideal scenario, they steal his magic, then leave, never to return.
  17. All That Glitters

There are a lot of Leafs on my area, but the Teslas are very popular, because they've had better range than most of the herd. The Tesla software is buggy. I have a friend that has one, not new, and it sometimes tries to pull to the side for no discernible reason. Musk was born on the hard right. His Tesla manufacturing facilities have an atrocious (lack of) safety record.
  18. All That Glitters

That does not sound obsessive. A storm could put you in need of solar panels and a battery. Modern silver bullion 'coins' are different than silver that was made to circulate, back in the day. The US coinage was the purest among those, and it is close to sterling bullion. It is also readily available (still!) with a low markup. And the coinage was made to handle, and it is recognizable (still?). So four is a bit over ten dollars.
  19. All That Glitters

Buy US silver dimes. They are not pure silver, but they are purer than anyone else's, and they hold up.

Comic for Wednesday, Apr 9, 2025 This went off in a new direction.
  21. Cats, Dogs, Other pets.

    That's why he's taking 'anti-he's-too-mean's, Explorer.
  22. Comic for Wednesday, Apr 9, 2025

Good call; it is a Friday strip! You knew before Dan(a) did!
  23. Cats, Dogs, Other pets.

I'm fairly sure a belfry is not an attic.
  24. Discussion of Military, real or fictional

I suppose it has a significant intimidation factor that they can actually do it. Or at least did it once.
  25. Cats, Dogs, Other pets.

We always called it 'Bats in the Belfry'.
