Note that at the critical moment in the French Vampire encounter, Nanase was stunned, and if it weren’t for Susan acting quickly, she would have fallen victim to the Vampire. However, once Nanase had started to become powerful as a Mage (since she is Royal-class and trained a lot), she was too strong to be felled by a few Vampires, and so Voltaire had to go with his Plan B of targeting Tedd’s best friend, Elliot. Note that Elliot did not really have the upper hand against the Spider-Vampire before the Griffins intervened, which implies that Elliot’s power set is far from optimal for fighting Vampires.
