In the bottom panel, it looks like she's looking up to read the central panel, which is her memory. So, in a sense, she is.

Gotta say, Pandora was a bad ass. She accomplished a lot.

Now I want to know how Pandora was able to attack the dragon without breaking the law.

Crack theory:  Dragons, as species, don't exist.  The Dragon was an immortal and the only one of his kind.  Immortals are allowed to attack other Immortals, or the whole thing about auto-reset falls apart.

Adding a point of credence to the 'The dragon is Voltaire' theory.

I still don't think so.  And regardless, it's obvious that The Dragon was either killed or had a bad reset, depending on what immortals can do to each other, meaning that he's several generations back from the current Voltaire, as Voltaire didn't seem like he was way past 200 years.  My cookies are on “He's dead, Jim”.

That's consistent with the little we know of Voltaire. The ringer is, Pandora was very old, long past her expiration date. It seems that her 'Pandora' lifespan could easily encompass a full 200 year reboot of a normal immortal, such that Voltaire might be the next generation after the dragon, if it is him.

OTOH, you'd think anything described as immortal would have circumstantial limitations. Bacteria being hit with a disinfectant, for instance. Or an antibiotic. Or our sun eventually encompassing the Earth. or being eaten. They are a good model for 'Immortality can have limitations'.

“Immortal” does not necessarily mean “indestructible”—take Tolkien’s elves, for example, who can be killed but know no senescence or death-from-illness.

That said, we do not know of any particular conditions which would prevent an Immortal in EGS from ever regenerating again, such that they would completely cease to exist. Possibly an overwhelmingly powerful attack on the astral level where their “soul” is supposed to reside, but it may take a massed attack from other Immortals to accomplish this, and be reserved for criminals who can not be rehabilitated through resetting.

Pandora did threaten to “tear them apart” about the immortal that was harassing/trying to kill Elliot (She didn't know it was Voltaire).  That implies that she could kill him.

It occurs to me that having the consensus of the locally available immortals that the dragon was a threat to them all might have been enough to not be violating immortal law.

You know what would be an amusing story line?

Quote

In like a dragon, out like a cockroach

Voltaire: "Ha, ha, you have reset and now I am stronger and will destroy you."

Hope: "Yeah, well, I remember too much and it makes me way stronger than I appear, and I have generated a lot of good will in the immortal community with my sacrifice, oh, here they are, and oh, yeah, my human friends are ridiculously overpowered, and they're here too. <Squish>"

But does “killing” him merely force a reset into a new body and renewed personality with memories wiped clean, or is it total destruction such that there is no living remnant?

Good question.  And one that will be answered either this week or 5 years from now, real time.

New immortal law: Voltaire must be reset every two weeks.

And they have found a new way to reset.  Gives you a 10-day migraine.  Got to have a break so you know what normal feels like, so it's bad when it happens again,
