This Bishop is manipulative, but not as nasty as the Disney stepmom.

Re: Commentary, in every version of Cinderella I can recall seeing, the father died. I would also presume Tedd had a room and a bed before the ladies arrived, and still has it.

Edward isn't a villain, not going to die for trivial plot reasons.  More or less can be assumed of Dan(a).  However, being out of the house a lot and not paying 100% attention to Tedd, is within Edward's character.

In versions of Cinderella where the father is dead, the Stepmother is scheming to disinherit her so that her own daughters will inherit the estate.

Not quite sure how that's gonna work with Edward still alive, but I'm sure it's going to be amusing.  This arc has all the earmarks of being just weird.

She is describing her daughters the way generous academics would describe young HP Lovecraft.

Mainly, the implied undercurrent is that Cinderella had deserved a fair chance to appeal to the Prince all along, and it was her Stepmother and Stepsisters trying to take her rightful status from her—i.e. it’s not a “rags to riches” tale, but rather a restoration of what was lost/taken.

Random note:

Bishop has the smallest breasts of any over 14-year-old character Dan(a) has drawn.  This adds to her snake thing.  I think that even Hope, in her “normal” form, has a larger chest than Bishop.

She seems to be about an A cup. I find that to be one of the least objectionable things about her; the 'A' is for Adequate, under the theory that anything over a mouthful is a waste.

It also implies (contrary to the current NP story) that she has never given birth.

Given the author’s proclivities, it is clear that we are not encouraged to think of Bishop as “hot”. Imposing, and effective at what she does, yes, but not attractive as a romantic/sexual partner.

I've known mothers who have A cup.  Giving birth doesn't always result in permanent breast size increase.

Or she may have been correct that her girls have the same father, but they have different mothers.  And she is not the birth mom to either.
