I'm not quite sure what the “Bonk” means.  The fact that they are “Chibi” style means it's most likely not anger, but more Jay is irritated at Hope's grovelling.

The 'Bonk' is just Jay hitting Hope, not hard, like a slap. Maybe just to get her attention. Although, look at the previous panel, it seems that Jay is indeed angry. She is likely pissed that Pandora never explained any of this. Or it's just years of PTSD coming out.

Hope seems like a perpetual chibi.

To be fair to my waifu, she did lock that memory away so that she couldn't get at it, or for that matter, know it existed. Makes it challenging to explain.

While that is true, and in any case, Hope did not do the thing, that does not mean Jay isn't angry about it.

Yes, Pandora literally gave till it hurt, giving so much to her that Pandora was fully disabled. Hope does not need to feel guilty about not giving even more.

As for why she couldn’t find Jill afterward, I would bet that Arthur sent her away from Moperville for a while for her safety after the incident. Jill was nowhere to be found because she was hundreds of miles away.

Plus, there aren't a lot of official footprints for a 6-year-old, particularly if we assume the 2002 start date is “canon”, which means the events took place in 1991, which mean minimal publicly searchable internet resources.

Furthermore , given Arthur’s position, he could have had his granddaughter’s paper trail obscured as is done for witness protection programs, so that anyone who was targeting Jill would have increased difficulty in tracking her.

Also true.  I keep forgetting the DGB is a branch of the FBI, which gives them access to a whole raft of toys
