Here is.

Jay must not have picked up granddad's attitude about America and what it stands for.  Which, to be fair, she wouldn't given her history.

And yeah, she's part of the Scoobies now.

Slight negative points for lack of realism, but I like the direction she's moving. There is a bit pf Liz about her, but she's been more isolated, not as generally aware as Liz is.

I'm also not fond of the term 'nice'; it's too vague. 'Nice' can be manipulative (the sales people are 'nice' to you) or it could be because you are actually a caring person, and I'm sure there are other variants. In the case of the core group, they are genuinely caring people who go out of their way to do the right thing, such as attack aberrations, or bounce soccer balls off of griffins.

So the comic builds up to Jay caring about her new friends for the first four panels, Susan dropping a velvet covered hammer on her in the fifth, and and Jay awakening to her own motivations in a very golden fifth panel. She's in shock, because it's not 'her', but it is her, just a side she's never felt safe exposing before. She's been self-centered, she hasn't had anyone she could trust, and now she has a peer group that cares about her.

I'm not sure what her grandfather's attitude is about (EGS) America and what it stands for. He seems primarily concerned about keeping magic secret. He was an agent, used a weapon to take out a hostile actor, not an unreasonable action on his part. He is older, has some conservative values, but approaches them in a flexible manner - I'm thinking of his reaction to Tedd's gender fluidity. We aren't privy to exactly why he isolated Jay. Perhaps he understood her part in the death of the would be assailant, thought she was innocent, and wanted to protect her. Perhaps he's not aware she even has magic, and saw no reason to modify his instructions to her as she got older. Most of his interactions with the cast have been fairly positive (other than Magus, who is being hunted). He has also given some good advice, both to Tedd and to Ashley.

IMO, Magus would have been treated better if he didn't flee, seems likely they would have assisted him to get to his home dimension.

Susan is golden in this page.

As for getting an Immortal indebted to you, our cast are playing the long game—getting her as a reliable ally is much more valuable than a one-time boon.

Susan is expected to be golden. She is the ultimately reliable member of the cast. Cases: challenging the uniforms, exposing Tom, then telling Ashley she (Ashley) was not at fault, running into battle at the mall (and being fairly effective). She is often the voice of reason.

I don't think the gang is intentionally playing a long game with Hope, I think they genuinely care about her. Pandora was already a friend to several of them.

Oh, I never meant that they were cynically trying to exploit her—just that they care more about long-term consequences than about making a quick buck, as it were.

More than a friend, family in Tedd's case, and that seems to matter a lot to him.

Family by blood to Diane and Susan; relationship with Tedd was 'Godmother'. She had pretty strong ties to Susan, and she prompted Nanase to wake up to save Ellen, so was involved with Ellen indirectly.

In case you were wondering if it was possible to be involuntarily drafted by your own choice.

Of course, it's possible to get drafted into a service you didn't make the enlistment throw for.

Oh, wait, you're not talking about Traveller.  My bad.

Given how little Hope remembers of Ellen, this fact may not be in her “current” memory banks.

For all we know, our reality may be a not-yet-authorized supplement to an established RPG.

Given how, lacking a better word, weird, the Traveller default universe is, I'd rather hope not.  Of course, the really dark times won't come for about 5 thousand years from now.  The the universe turns really dark.

I'll be interested in Jay's reaction to the rest of the cast--Elliot in particular.

The question is: Does she meet Elliot, Cheerleadera, Rose Elliot or default fem Elliot first?

Was Jay among the witnesses to Catalina's tackle glomp?

Wrong school for that.
