It's too early in the morning for musical theater jokes.  Like there is really any time for them.

Voltaire is definitely taking advantage of the trio’s ignorance of local Immortal law here. I’m fairly certain that the new Law still does not allow him to simply punish them unilaterally without them agreeing to some sort of bargain with him first, so his “you are mine” claim is largely intimidation.

Voltaire's grasp of ethics (rather, lack of a grasp of ethics) spells trouble for the three stooges. He seems to have justified to himself that they no longer have any rights whatsoever.

Oh, he grasps ethics—it’s merely that he believes that he is justified in acting in a severely self-serving manner.

“Let them fight”

Or to use a US official's statement during the Iran/Iraq war,  “Can both of them lose?”

If you mean something along the lines of "He's a legend in his own mind.", then yes, he understands his own rationalized ethics, much as the <primary political thread subject> understands ethics. Granted, Voltaire may be insane, but he's apparently operating with more than a toddler's grasp of issues. If our world is any indication, this will not end well for him.

Seems Voltaire may be targeting people he thinks Pandora would care about; likely revenge for her ending Ragnarok.

Taking down the Verres/Kitsune clan will also reduce the level of mortal oversight on him.

As for his final fate, I foresee the other Immortals enforcing a complete memory wipe on his new reset, in order to stop him from rebuilding his legacy.

Or we find that under the “new” rules, an immortal can actually be killed, not just reset.  He is starting to be more of a problem than Damien was.

Oh good, the Three Stooges misconceptions are being replaced by Voltaire's malevolence. I see no downside to this.

Maybe they will all kill each other in an orgy of violence.

Unless a significant plot twist is to be revealed, I am fairly confident Damian was Mortal.

Po seems perhaps actually evil, perhaps arrogant but not malicious; Saou seems merely delusional, although his appearance suggests damage, perhaps due to altercations? Although Mist is along for the ride, and seems committed to serving Saou's agenda, but she is actually a sympathetic character with a moral code. I expect she'll survive whatever mayhem occurs.

A thought on why Seyunolu are discriminated against by both Humans and Uryuom beyond just simple racism: most Seyunolu are less able as spellcasters then humans and less able as shapeshifters than Uryuoms (able to shift only through various mixtures of their ancestral forms). Mist is potent in his dream/illusion magic largely because of the Unicorn part of his heritage.

Even in that picture, 'he' looks like a girl.

Yes, that's why DS included his pronouns

I think I'll use 'it' and confuse everybody.

Well, “it” is nonhuman, so from a “certain point of view” that's correct.

As the slowest running kid in the neighborhood, I was "It" for most of my childhood.

So you became an ambush predator?
