Bishop might not be unhappy. She (in this incarnation) seems focused on wealth of the partner, seems not to care about conventional moral standards. She might, for instance, be perfectly happy with either daughter coming home with the princess. 

We don't know Liz's wealth status, it's probably not great, but OTOH, she is dressed in a nice suit.

The real question is how much of this is going to bleed over to the "real world" after the kids get out of high school?

Yes, the cat  Jeremy has a line to Susan.  Ashley and Hope have a line towards Jeremy.

While we do have a non-canon thing where Liz says she hopes to meet Susan in college, I don't think they have met yet.
