Yeah, she does seem to be more than a little of an asshole.  American affection for freedom fighters aside, there are plenty of examples of revolutionaries being asses.

Tryin to be fair and look at this from Po's point of view, she is  a freedom fighter on a clandestine mission for a cause she thinks just. She'll be keyed up and looking for threats. Let's just hope she doesn't fulfill Luke's wish. https://www.egscomics.com/comic/falsekings-011

Let's also hope that she isn't a religious fanatic who wants to punish folks who have access to t-guns.  https://www.egscomics.com/comic/2003-09-17

While looking for the t-gun link, I came across this:  https://www.egscomics.com/comic/2003-09-03   Either Elliot can also see through projections, or William and Gillian dropped them before they ran into him.

Well, I've been assuming that the entire universe is flip side; it would be a different legal context (which, yes, might happen to be the same).

OTOH, we don't know if the Uryuoms came from both or just one and then crossed over. I seem to recall some statement in the EGS side that they didn't come from space, rather, not from EGS space.

As for laws and such, the major governments on the other side seem to be mainly autocratic monarchies or feudal monarchies with “Royal” class Mages ruling either. Non-magical people seem to be an underclass, and have no direct representation in government. The idea of Royals being compelled to submit to a Parliament that is elected by commoners, or a continent-spanning Republic that takes seriously the notion “All are created Equal”, seems not to have taken root there—and the Royals apparently suppress technological development specifically in order to prevent non-magicals from acquiring another route to power.

While that make sense for that side, it does not address why it would be enforced on the EGS side, nor by whom.

Po could decide to do that, in the name of some other-side Uryuom religious edict. My guess though is that Voltaire has sent Po to obtain a T-gun to use to better hide anti-Royal activities. Her personal feelings may not enter into it at all.

Just realized that I had misgendered Po

"These are not theirs to have" says otherwise, even if it is 'religiously motivated'. Also, she's acting against that enclave in this whole steal an aura thing.

As I have said before, it's extremely unlikely that the government that we have seen agents of (or rebels from) is global.  Even during low-tech eras, Earth had multiple countries.

So what kind of disguise will intimidate this intruder?

Not sure there is one. For all the apparent bumbling, The Stooges are risking a lot for their cause. Po in particular has to know that she is taking tremendous, possibly fatal risks. If Hope is going to escape this, it probably won't be by frightening someone who is prepared to die.

I like your idea about where this is going better than mine--Po captures Hope and brings her back to Voltaire.

That seems a little darker than DS normally goes. Could  happen, but I don't think it will.

I agree, it's been clear to me for a long time that DS and I have very different ideas about story telling.

Got to remember we are talking about a person who makes magic “safe” “because it more fun that way” re growth and piercings/implants.
