Like I said, the person I was watching play it never played long enough to try anything, the guide/narrator or whatever just kept reminding the player that he wasn't a hero, and that they were free to choose to be good or evil.

There was a game the came out on console last year called Dragon Quest Builders, the premise of it was evil had taken away man's ability to build anything so the world ended up falling into ruin because no one could remember how it was built. Of course you play as the only one with the ability to learn how to build and craft, but a twist of the game seemed to put emphasis on the ability to choose to be a hero or a villain so you can either help NPCs rebuild towns and such and teach them how to build, or I can assume you can make things worse for them, I dunno really as the person I saw doing a let's play on it didn't play for more than a couple episodes. It was an interesting take on that trope though.

  5. Things You Only Noticed On Reread

"Kryptonite" by 3 Doors Down and "When You're Evil" by Voltaire certainly works for "So a Date" in referencing Elliot and Ashley's budding relationship and the introduction to Voltaire the Immortal and Elliot transforming into Cheerleadra for it. Actually no, that blog post couldn't have foreshadowed the past few arcs. When Dan posted that blog, he was just wrapping up Sister 2, so if we don't include Q&A 4, those songs would have to apply to Elliot and the Temple of Swedish Furniture, Hammerchlorians, New and Old Flames, and possibly the two T-Minus sets. Kryptonite and When You're Evil would fit New and Old Flames considering it's where Cheerleadra was introduced and the fact that we now know that Voltaire was involved. East Bound and Down sounds like a driving song so it would fit Hammerchlorians with Susan, Sarah and Grace going on that road trip. And Eye of the Tiger would certainly work for that race montage of Elliot and Noah through Swedekea.
  6. Story Friday March 17, 2017

Last year saw Diane officially meeting Elliot, learning about him being Cheerleadra, seeing him transform, and also seeing how he got along with Ashley. Diane's had only a couple days to let that sink in, but she's also been preoccupied with the whole "I was attacked by a vampire" shock and the upcoming meeting with Susan so I wouldn't be surprised if Elliot's not at the top of her mind. I'm kinda curious if she mentioned her crush on Elliot to Susan, or if she mentions being the one that defended him in the video comments.
  7. Story Friday March 17, 2017

Let's see. We got an MLP fan, King Lewie from Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic, Sanic the hedgehog*, Pac Man and what looks like Diane's "She doesn't know what seduction is" pose but it's obviously not Diane making that comment. *if you value sanity, don't google Sanic. if there's anything worse than TVtropes, Sanic would be it.

Could be worse, could be pyramids from the UK flying overhead, dropping Jaffa Cakes on everyone.
  9. Things that make you worried.

The last desk chair I owned had those molded plastic arm brackets that were supposed to hold the back of the chair upright, two bolts on each, one to the back and one to the seat. The plastic cracked just above the bolt holding it to the seat so to fix it, I drilled two drywall screws through the plastic between the bolt to close the crack, and then another through the plastic into the seat. It held for about a year. Then the arm cracked above the fix, but by then I was able to get a new steel tube framed chair.

I thought there was mention of it, but completely blanked on it.

It's also possible that she thought about her talk with Nanase about it and decided to try to not let the negative comments bother her, maybe she found some positive ones convinced her to not disable them, or maybe she just decided to keep them open to see if anyone posted anything about Elliot being Cheerleadra.

  14. Story: Wednesday March 15, 2017

Two days ago, it was Saturday that she learned about it, but seemed to be more interested in checking her spellbook to see how many fairies she could summon at once, as well as read up on taking full "first person mode" control of one and then falling asleep. Then Sunday she went to work, got surprised by Tensaided's comments about Elliot an Cheerleadra, then got blindsided by Ellen and Nanase telling her about vampires in Moperville and Diane. Ok Monday is close to being over now so almost three days ago, but she spent Monday with school obviously and Sarah seemed to have gotten her caught up with the clog related stuff that Ellen and Nanase likely don't know about yet, though I'm sure Elliot will be mentioning it as soon as Ellen got home from school unless Tedd never went farther than just mentioning the fact that Magic could change. The conversation between Elliot and Sarah here switched to the possibility of magic changing at the end of today's page so Sarah might very well fill Elliot in on her role in the matter if Tedd hadn't. Considering Sarah and Elliot are talking about whether she hear anyone talking about him after they got home from school, it seems like they didn't see each other during school. They must not share the same lunch period this semester.

I figured when you said sleek supercar look for the ships. I have an alt who's Amarr as well and is more combat oriented skill wise, can fly cov-ops and stealth bombers and has some strat cruiser skills though I haven't had the ISK to buy a strat cruiser. My main is Caldari and is more on the industrial side, mining, manufacturing, research. She's got enough combat skills to fly Drake Army. I played for a month at the end of last year, scrounged up enough ISK from both characters to buy a plex, but when that ran out I just found it tough to do much as an alpha clone, there weren't many skills that I could train, the best ship I could fly was a Caracal and because my diplomacy was limited to level 1 (I have level 4 trained) my standings with the Gallente is in the negative (the friends I play with base near Dodixie mainly because their standings with the other factions are shoot on sight due to them having run faction warfare and lowsec ganking) I couldn't get anything better than level 1 missions.

Eve is probably the most open ended MMO out there, yeah there's PVE content, there's backstory to how things came to be and there are ongoing things happening and such, the majority of what happens is player driven, people playing the economy game, someone in very expensive faction ship gets ganked, two corps fighting in a wardec outside Jita. A corp gets infiltrated and has assets stolen or worse, all the way up to huge alliances fighting over sovereignty in nullsec. Sometimes if something truly impressive happens, CCP will create something in game to commemorate it, like the "Bloodbath of B-R5RB" there's now a titan graveyard in the system because of the number of titans that were lost in the battle.

Also, while the odds of the team having enough player numbers to fill out Pi to that many decimal places are low, I'm pretty certain the placement of the players didn't just happen by accident. I just posted it because I thought it was amusing the team went to the trouble of lining up that way.

The beauty of open world games like Fallout and Elder Scrolls is that while there is the main quest line and all the faction quests and such, it can be done in any order for the most part, do I complete the main quest first? Or maybe do dark brotherhood first and then work on getting all the hearthfire houses? You can even ignore those quests and just move from town to town picking up bounties. And then of course those game in particular are very mod friendly so you can add stuff to enhance or completely change the experience. It's weird how Dan is nervous about getting Bethesda knocking on his door with a cease and desist order if he drew codsworth to more closely resemble the actual Fallout 4 robot, I haven't heard of them going after other people for it and they don't go after people who make Fallout lets plays.

Well, I am playing Eve Online, but it's not a twitch reaction type game. You don't fly your ship; you give commands. You are the captain, not the helmsman or gunner. You say where to go, and what to shoot and let the flunkies deal with the nuts and bolts. Wait ... is that how everyone plays Eve Online or just how you do? There is some mention about Rhea expansion on wikipedia ... It depends of how you play Eve, when running PVE content (missions, mining, combat sites, planetary interaction, etc) you're basically just pointing your ship in a direction and flying or sitting stationary and watching lasers chew on rocks while having drones deal with high sec rats. That's what most people refer to as "carebearing" because much of the stuff you do in high sec is low risk so you can be casual. Going into low sec and null sec space and the risk increases both on the PVE side (combat sites, missions and rats get beefier) and there's a PVP risk as well because you don't have Concord to come to your rescue. You can't be casual here and it also presents opportunities to play a more active role in shaping the story that CCP proudly advertises, will you be the type to come to the aid of another player in trouble, or will you be the one to gank them. Being in corporations and alliances is also different and mlooney's statement doesn't necessarily fit, I mean it does if you are running operations with fleets and you're giving commands to the other players, but if you're just participating then you're taking commands from the fleet commander. And while yes, a lot of the Eve experience isn't much of a twitch reaction game, it can potentially become one if your mining fleet gets hot dropped in lowsec by a bunch of black-ops ships. Although, one can argue that there is a curve to the amount of twitch reaction in relation to the number of ships involved and that once you reach a threshold of number of ships in the area, the reaction time becomes a non issue due to server delays because (and I dunno if they still have it) CCP had what's call "Time Dilation" for when large numbers of players are in the same area, it slows the game speed to 10% so the 21 hour "Bloodbath of B-R5RB" would have probably been less than 2 hours if done in real time.
