  1. I just want to make it clear this isn't really speculation as to what Dan has planned. Just some ideas the popped into my head and make no claims that these will happen. Right now in the Sister 3 arc, we have several plot threads, almost all have been out there for much of the comic's existence, that seem to be on the verge of being tied or even expanded. We have Magus apparently making another attempt to get back into the mortal realm by way of getting Ellen to zap Elliot, we have Susan about to be introduced to Diane and the ramifications of learning their relation, we also found out that another Immortal (Voltaire) has been interfering in Elliot's life for some time now, and then the big one of the energy clog. Now, the Magus plot has evolved a fair bit to the point that it's about to get pretty violent, mainly due the Voltaire's interference, but that may or may not get completely resolved. Susan and Diane will have a rough start I imagine, but I think it work out. Voltaire I see possibly being a pain in the arse in future stories, unless Pandora gets a hold of him in this arc. All that though, is pretty dependent on whether or not Pandora's plan to remove the clog is enough to prevent Magic from changing the system. If the system ends up changing, Magus is probably screwed as Ellen wouldn't be able to zap Elliot, heck Magus' own magic might not work from the spirit realm either. Susan wouldn't be able to teach Diane about their innate talent for vampire hunting, though it's possible that vampires might be affected by the system change as well and revert back to human or just die, dunno. Voltaire might not have a reason to kill Elliot anymore either, though who knows, maybe he wants the system to change because it means he could force a change in the rules for Immortals. Anyway, that's besides the point, my main thoughts revolve around what might happen if the system changes or not. If the system doesn't change, well, it'd be business as usuall, everyone that has magic can still use magic or eventually get enough energy on their own to cast spells again or maybe some will just think it was fun while it lasted and not dwell on trying to get it back. I'm sure we'll still have magic shenanigans as Pandora helps Sarah exercise her magic. There are also a few other threads that could be revisited, like the Lord Tedd story, Noah's background is still a mystery, and there could be more to learn about Noriko. If the plan fails though and there is a system change, what then? Well Pandora promised to help Sarah get magic in the new system, so there'll probably still be some shenanigans, but what about everyone else? Tedd might be key to this. Consider the fact that Tedd's "dangerous rarity" in part allows him to see magic, and apparently he's one of those rare types of wizards that can quickly learn the new system. He may learn that everyone hadn't actually lost their spells, but that they were just locked because they required knowledge of how the new system worked, so Nanase could get her Fairy Avatar and Guardian form back and Elliot could become Cheerleadra again for a couple examples, after some training. I'm not entirely sure Dan had this in mind way back at the beginning, but I wonder if Lord Tedd's reality experienced a system change and General Shade Tail capitalized on Lord Tedd's ability to see what the new system was and...well...conquering the world might be a stretch but they still likely did enough to get Tedd the reputation of "Lord". Anyway, our Tedd would have a similar opportunity to create a new magic order as DGB and other magic based organizations around the world would be defunct. This would create problems in that if word got out that Tedd could tell them how to get magic back, his life and the lives of his friends and family could be in danger. This might lead to stories about the cast attempting to get their magic back while at the same time trying to keep the wrong people from finding out about Tedd. Again, this is purely in the realm of "what if?" mixed with "it would be interesting to see", and not actual speculation for what Dan might do.
  2. Well we know Vladia has some Uryuom DNA in her so it's entirely possible she's like Grace and that only mental connections matter, or she might even be asexual. She certainly didn't seem the huggable type though but that might be more nurture than nature.
  3. NP Monday December 5, 2016

She may not be continuing the practice herself, but I still think she's been subtly training Nanase. At the very least making sure Nanase has proper discipline, something that Noriko might not have had.
  4. Story Monday December 5, 2016

It could be possible that at one time Immortals were running wild and causing all kinds of chaos, then after a few magic system changes, found it was not fun to have to start over all the time and thus the "only guide and empower" rule was made to limit interaction and reduce the chance of causing another system change, the suggested "reset at 200 years" guideline probably came later when Immortals got bored in their old age and went insane because the rules wouldn't let them have fun. Maybe that's why Magic doesn't want to be mainstream on this half, because it doesn't trust Immortals and humans to be responsible with it. Maybe in the other half, the Ancients made an agreement the allowed for Magic to remain commonplace, I wonder if the fact that Ancients can't lie but Immortals can would have anything to do with it. Maybe Ancients vowed to not let magic get out of control, but Immortals didn't make any vows about it?
  5. Things You Find Amusing

Today's Grrl Power, new characters just keep showing up, and Sydney's right, why isn't she on Arc-Swat?!?! She totally seems like someone Sydney can chum with. Also, Konami Code all the way!
  6. Probably DNA testing showed it, I would imagine the scientists would have done numerous tests to figure out why Vlad wasn't able to transform.
  7. NP Monday December 5, 2016

That's a good question, is Mama Kistune nearby? Or Papa Kitsune? Or even Nanase? Akiko can't be pulling a Kevin McCallister here.
  8. Dan mentioned in the "PB special feature" that Vlad went trough several possible endings before the one we got, which did include dying to save Grace. I dunno if Dan would ever bring back that idea, I suspect considering trouble he's had with killing off good characters, killing off Vladia in some way wouldn't sit well with him. Yeah it's a guest strip, but you can't help but wonder if Vladia tried to pull an Ellen and just embrace being female, considering Vladia never knew what it was like to be a human male to begin with it would probably be easier for Vladia than it was for Ellen. I thought Dr Sciuridae would handle Father-of-the-Bride duties for both Vladia and Grace. If Vladia asked Hedge, I'm afraid Guineas would be quite hurt and jealous. You know, it is possible for Vladia to have both Hedge and Guineas escorting her if Dr Sciuridae is unable to.
  9. Magic: The Gathering colors of the cast

I'd say the dream she had was an extension of the previous dream about being able to defend herself and other from bad guys, considering both dreams had the theme of Hedge causing trouble, the experience of Hedge taking Elliot still bothers her despite it turning out ok. I don't think it is a matter of Sarah wanting to be powerful, but more a matter of Sarah not wanting to be powerless if she were to find herself in a situation like that again.
  10. More Speculation.

I know we've probably speculated this page to death about Jerry's hesitation possibly meaning he knows something about Tedd's mother. But now, I'm wondering if Jerry knew about Tedd being a Seer. Voltaire knows, and it seemed like he knew for a good portion of the year seeing as his goal was to traumatize Tedd. What if that knowledge is commonly known by most Immortals, Pandora knows as well though she might not have realized the significance of being a seer until a several hours ago comic time.
  11. What are you reading right now?

That depends, how many variants of English are there and which one is your second language?
  12. I actually like that it does that, the other day I had typed up a lengthy response and got distracted before I hit "Post" about half an hour later I go to turn off my computer, closed firefox and thought "wait, didn't I have a post I was working on?" I reopened firefox to the forums, saw that I did not hit the post button, clicked the field and everything popped back in, I didn't have to retype everything.

Yep, my waifu will notice and take some sort of action. Maybe. I don't think Pandora will touch Akiko, she's Tedd's cousin which means Pandora will likely want to protect her, also, she's 8 years old which if people are right about Helena and Demetrius being reset because they gave magic to underaged teens even with consent, giving magic to a child without consent would be even worse. I don't know if Pandora could rationally justify it enough to consider it not breaking any rules. I wouldn't doubt the possibility of someone manifesting magic ability at an early age, but I still think Nanase was specifically saying that even though she was awakened when she was 15-16, she only really used magic during the martial arts classes which may have been a once or twice a week occurrence, rather than using magic every day like most magic users would do, Rhoda obviously used her magic every day since she discovered it because of how fast she awakened and learned several new spells. If Nanase had used her magic every day since France, she'd be even more of a powerhouse. Possible, if she does know, she's resisting the temptation to gush about how cool it is much better than Diane did. That would be very impressive for an 8 year old to do and somehow, I find it hard to believe that Mama Kitsune would have told Akiko about anything and forbid her from telling Nanase. She watches things like MLP and Rapunzel where magical stuff is a common theme, she'll likely react the same way Ashley did in that "Magic is real?" but being 8, who knows how Akiko will handle that knowledge, some kids would go around telling everyone they know, some may be like "teach me how to do that!" Akiko looks up to Nanase as a role model, would she be inclined to tell her about it? Considering we haven't heard Nanase mention anything, it's unlikely Akiko did, but also considering no one has mentioned about hijinks at the mall in October, Akiko is either convinced that nothing happened (which I doubt) or somehow complete strangers convince her not to tell anyone. Akiko not knowing Rhoda is one thing, we're not sure if Rhoda knows about Nanase having a younger sister and if she'd recognize Akiko. Rhoda could still just walk away though. That would provide more hijinks.
  14. Story Monday December 5, 2016

Actually, the thought just occurred to me, that while there is something he thinks is important about Diane and Susan, he might have just pulled a Pandora as went "If I believe letting this run it's course isn't breaking my vow, then I'm not breaking my vow". Panel 5 looks like Jerry was expecting his old self to shout at him that "I VOWED!", but that didn't happen. I think Jerry just knows that everybody hurts, sometimes. But he just wants to see shiny happy people.
  15. Things That Are Just Annoying

I have been at one time one of those people, for a couple years I worked at a place that processed pearl onions for pickling, the conditions in the building were very hot and sweaty and I the 3pm-11pm shift always had me coming home close to midnight and there was no way I was going to bed smelling like I was swimming in onions and brine.
  16. NP Monday December 5, 2016

That's what I was thinking as well, except then I realized that this happened before Ashley saw Elliot, so what we really have is "Akiko: The Original Series" Also, this really deserves an:
  17. Story Monday December 5, 2016

So Jerry has a strong belief beyond what Ellen and Nanase know, and despite any uncertainty, he's convinced that letting things continue on their course is the best thing to do. Yeah, I'm pretty certain the "worst day of her life" qualifies.

You're thinking about the Goblin Fishing Pole. A Dwarven Fishing Pole would also work.
  19. NP, Wednesday November 30, 2016

Yeah, was was going the roundabout way with Justin, but seems like she made her decision by the time she talked to Nanase about it.
  20. Things that make you go WTF

Would you like us to mention the dishwasher as well?
  21. NP, Wednesday November 30, 2016

I think Ellen was trying to tell Justin what she ended up telling Nanase. What she was asking Justin amounted to the initial bisexuality that the V5 form gave her, she tried to embrace it as part of her identity which accounted for all the flirting with guys and talking about them being hot and such, but then Archie happened and she was like "This isn't really what I want, is it?"
  22. NP, Wednesday November 30, 2016

Her dream in which she slept with Archie likely happened between those moments which would explain the sudden shift in Ellen's view of the party, before she was fine with everyone swapping genders, then suddenly she wished only the guys would become girls. Her reaction to seeing "Manase" doesn't really give us a lot to go on, I could see some saying that Ellen was uncomfortable with seeing Nanase like that. And some could see Ellen slipping up and her bisexuality kicking in and thinking Nanase's form was attractive. The thing is though neither of them really acted on it in any way and, well, Nanase turned back to normal before the confessions were made which could be seen as "Ellen likes me, I like her, but she just told me she's uncomfortable being with guys so this form is no longer needed". That wasn't really relevant to Sarah being turned into a guy, but more the fact that Sarah's freakout hit quite close to home with Ellen's reason for existing.
  23. Luke directly asked Justin about the fight with the fire golem and then took a look at whether he had magic, I don't doubt that Luke and his friends were curious if Justin had magic, but it seems like it was an optional task, Luke taking notice of Grace's aura got him even more interested and then the way George looked at him and the flash he got from Tedd was basically the tipping point of "how many people here possibly have magic?" In the end, it only turned out that Justin and Grace only had aura's and Tedd had something unexplainable. Interestingly enough he never got a chance to look at Sarah who obviously had been marked earlier, and I'm pretty sure Dan did that intentionally so they he could hit us with that bombshell at the end of the arc.
  24. Last Post Wins

There was Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole that not only did 60-90 damage per hit, but also had +52 stamina so it could easily pass as a decent battle fishing rod.
  25. The person he was talking to seemed to be someone he met who was in the same situation, just out of the blue had a spell they could use. Justin had guessed that Luke would have had to see at least 2 people who were marked and 1 person who had magic who did not have a mark in order to see a difference between the two, of course he didn't know the difference between someone who is marked and someone who had a mark and was awakened, but still that means that the group Luke is part of has at least 1 other who is marked and 1 who isn't but can use magic. The main reason that Luke's friend wanted Luke to contact Justin though, was to see if there was any way they could meet Cheerleadra, so while Luke's group does have magic, they appear more like a Cheerleadra fan club.
