  1. STORY: Wednesday, May 25, 2016

Well, I did spend a few minutes typing up an actual reaction.
  2. Terrible movie thread

It was, the Son'a were a splinter group of Ba'ku that want to go back to using technology despite the fact that it was their excessive reliance of it that destroyed their home world. The Ba'ku said "we won't let you ruin this world as well" and told them to leave. The Son'a resented this and the fact that the radiation of the planet's atmosphere gave the Ba'ku basically immortality and said "if we can't have it, neither can you" and hatched the whole plan to get the Federation to strip the planet of it. It's bad because the idea of there being some benefit to packaging up the atmosphere is ridiculous, maybe if you replaced the harvester with Mega Maid, the movie could have been redeemed a bit.
  3. Words of Wisdom

Hopefully you're not saying that while someone's arguing with you, that could be counter productive.
  4. Word of Dan Discussion

Just curious, but was Dan ever aware of the issues these forums had back in the day? I know he could easily be talking about any forums but it sounds like this could be hitting a little closer to home for him if he was aware.
  5. NP: Monday, May 23, 2016

Took me a bit to figure out what A V G N was, I was sleepy don't judge me!
  6. Things that make you sad.

2016.......It's not another death in the entertainment industry but it might as well be. Gord Downie, lead singer for The Tragically Hip, just announced that he's been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. The band is planning one final tour before calling it quits.
  7. NP: Friday, May 20, 2016

Yeah, I was mainly looking for one where she's standing fairly straight. Even in this NP she's got a bit of a twist in her hips that might be aftecting her figure. I know in my case if you look at me straight on, I'll look a certain way, but look at me off-center and a bit above me and suddenly I look like I gained 30lbs.
  8. Story Monday May 23, 2016

Grace had mentioned that Tedd had said the smallest he could get with the TFG and watches was around 80% of normal size, I think Tedd himself complained about having trouble getting someone smaller than 79.XX%. As for how much bigger it's apparently 26% bigger than normal, but again I think Rhoda's spell made the boar much larger than 26% bigger than normal, which is why I believe that her spell could make someone smaller than 79.XX% of normal.
  9. NP: Friday, May 20, 2016

The closest think I can come up with as a comparison would be the third panel of this page, Sarah has a kinda hourglassy figure there as well.
  10. Story Monday May 23, 2016

We have Rhoda who's confirmed marked with a size adjusting spell, that boar must have grown larger than what Tedd's TFG could have done. I really want to say that the pinup of Rhoda shrinking Catalina out of her clothes, while likely not canon in the actual story sense, is still an accurate demonstration of Rhoda's spell.
  11. Story Monday May 23, 2016

Her hair seems more like a cross of her usual double-tail with the one style she had in Q&A#5. I like it.
  12. The Association Game

    Toasty!
  13. Things You Only Noticed On Reread

No so much a notice on reread but I was looking at over the questions that were submitted for the Q&A on patreon and someone had asked about Dan's choice of naming Tara and Andrea and whether or not he named them after the voice actors for MLP:FiM. Turns out the reason why Ashley thought Tara sounded like Raven from Teen Titans was in fact because Tara Strong voiced Raven as well as Twilight Sparkle, Andrea Libman voiced Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. Dan did seem to play it off as saying he considered many names for her, but liked Tara better. I don't think it was random coincidence though.

This is an odd situation really, I mean Grace cares more about a mental connections with a person rather than physical attraction, the idea of her being polyamourous because of it isn't farfetched. One would figure that her relationship senses would have picked up something from Sarah and confronted her about it. The moment in the MV5 story when discussing Tedd's sexiness, Grace's comment "so, you think Tedd's cuuute" plus her facial expression suggests a "I'm ok with sharing him with you." and the moment in the restaurant after the card tournament with Grace and Sarah both hugging and then simultaneously tickling Tedd would make it seem like Grace followed through with that thought of sharing Tedd with Sarah. Hmm you know how Grace was all clingy with Sarah and Tedd after seeing the breakup announcement? I wonder if during (or shortly after) MV5, Grace decided that she didn't want Sarah to feel alone, and did her best to include Sarah in the relationship at least temporarily, like "you can keep looking if you want, but we can provide cuddles for you in the meantime." Not sure how far Grace or even Tedd would let it go but if the original OT3 sketchbook is canon...
  15. Index of ongoing plotlines

Also the fact that George may have a crush on Justin.
  16. STORY: Monday, May 16, 2016

Ok, I never saw Trinity, so did not know Ryan Reynolds was in it, lol. I just randomly used him as an example of someone famous that people consider good looking.
  17. NP: Friday, May 20, 2016

Yeah, how they figured it should be possible for an android to be possessed is beyond me. And even worse was when that one scientist uploaded his consciousness into Data before he died "to know him is to love his is to know him", that kind of stuff was only possible for Data after he installed the emotion chip, which happened in Generations.
  18. NP: Friday, May 20, 2016

I think TNG does that all on it's own, I mean there's the borg cubes, and the espisode "Power Play" essentially had ghosts possessing crew members, and an attempt to extract and contain them.
  19. STORY: Monday, May 16, 2016

Blade's different in that he was born half vampire (mother was bitten while pregnant), but he uses his strengths to hunt vampires. I'd think a similar situation in the EGS universe would be someone who may not have been born with vampire hunter talent believing that they could "fight fire with fire" by intentionally becoming a monster to hunt a monster. I can imagine that would be a dangerous path to walk on though.
  20. STORY: Monday, May 16, 2016

Once we see a vampire that looks like Ryan Reynolds, I'll certainly agree with that, but as it is we've seen 3 aberrations and while the France vampire is probably the most human looking of the three, there are still features that set him apart. Until we see a vampire that can easily blend in with a crowd without drawing attention (bodysnatchers not included because you can't see them anyway, at least in Sirleck's case) the idea that their form is a consequence of their desire to use magic for malevolent purposes still stands. The opposite can certainly be true though, if someone desires to do good with their magic, they would likely be granted with a form suited to them as well, Nanase's Guardian form could be seen as an example of this, I'm not entirely sure I'd go so far to say there could be a permanent form for those that do good as while I can see an aberrations form being a type of "you've chosen this path so this is how you'll live it" consequence, I don't think magic would force someone good to basically cease being able to live a relatively normal life by changing their form permanently, can you imagine how Nanase would feel if she was stuck being in her guardian form forever? Nah, magic would grant the good people the ability to control when they can use their forms.
  21. STORY: Monday, May 16, 2016

Well he likely wanted to live forever as well, but he might have thought it be some other way. It'd be like magic saying "You want to be wealthy and live forever? Well, you can do it as an ugly bodysnatching freak." Basically you can't have something without some sort of consequence. Aberrations are people that wanted something but didn't want to work hard for it so magic, while giving them the means to go the easy route, had to do something to make it not so easy, like strip them of their humanity and make it so they had to feed a certain way to maintain their existence, makes it so that they can be eventually hunted down and destroyed. Maybe some people were aware of this before hand and accepted it thinking they can keep under the radar, maybe some expected something else. I'm just guessing at where Sirleck might come from. It's certainly part of it, he begrudgingly agreed to use his wealth to help Magus and also refused Magus' offer to make straw into gold because it would devalue gold. He's also possibly worse than Rich when it comes to the treatment of women.
  22. What Are You Ingesting?

    Pepperoni pizza.
  23. STORY: Monday, May 16, 2016

Same with Sirleck, as a human he was probably really greedy, maybe got caught embezzling money, likely yearned for a way to do it again while remaining undetectable and when he learned of magic he probably tried to use it to give him that ability. He might have originally wanted to control someone remotely like power of suggestion stuff but magic decided to go a few steps further and make it so he could take full control of a person through possession.

I don't usually pay much attention to trailers, I'll watch em if they happen to be on TV while I'm watching something, or if someone links it to me online. And then it's more of a, "does it look like it'll be fun?" It's the same with games too, and a lot of companies will pick and choose what to put in the trailers to try to draw people in, but if they only put action scenes in a trailer and a 2 hour movie only has 30 minutes of action in it then people are likely not going to like the movie as much because they expected it to be action packed. Then again, this may be a brilliant tactic for the ghostbusters movie to use footage that sets expectations low for everyone so that when people do see the movie, people would be like "Oh. My. God. That was much better than the trailer made me think it'd be." I don't think so, in the main comic the closest I think she's worn is this. She's also worn knee-length shorts. It kinda does, but I wonder if it's just because she's standing next to Susan who's taller and thinner that her. I can't really find a good shot of Sarah from the MV5 story to compare but Sarah doesn't look overweight when next to Grace and Ellen.
  25. STORY: Monday, May 16, 2016

It'd also be very much like Tedd's mark spell, it's not an enchantment when used on himself, it permanently changes his default form for however long he wants rather than for a set duration that can be resisted away sooner. The vampires would likely have changed their default forms, but it's also likely the process is irreversible, hence why Immortals go out of their way to get people to destroy them.
