Considering he needs to control ELLEN and not Elliot, probably not ; he's not going to do it just for fun, so without motivation ...
  2. Story: Monday March 20, 2017

In Tedd's house, probably. Now, how far away that is? Note: That aura is certainly not just artistic license, however it's an illusion, it can't really burn. Also, even if it COULD burn, Grace is fireproof. Well, her fur is. Wait: What book is Ellen reading? Is it her spellbook? Or ELLIOT spellbook? Did Elliot read his spellbook since her "I love this cute and sexy form!"? EDIT: the hug

I think someone once said that the trick to orbiting the Earth was along the lines of falling towards it and missing. Not sure who said it but yes it technically is. Only you need to keep missing it all the time.

I don't have any doubts mug of tea would do quite a lot of damage, but it is REALLY worse if it's hot? What, did Japanese infantry had different opinion about sacrificing themselves for the glory of the Emperor than the kamikaze pilots? Considering there were slaves, I suppose it didn't ended well for them anyway.

On the other hand, what else would you reduce the velocity with? You can't exactly pack another set of these huge fuel tanks used to GAIN that speed (actually, it wouldn't be enough: you need fuel to move that fuel, meaning you would need something like 15x more fuel). Remember: Space is not far away. Space is FAST. (BTW, for people who already upgraded to metric, ISS orbits at 7.66 km/s and speed of sound is 340.29 m/s)
  6. NP Friday March 17, 2017

Toss? You need more energy than that. Of course, there IS a non-zero probability that twister going over junkyard will build an Boeing 737 ...
  7. NP Wednesday March 15, 2017

Ah, my mistake. The 'mysteriously' bit was supposed to be humorous; perhaps I should have put it in quotation marks. No, my mistake, I though it would be funny to pretend I didn't get it. I guess I overdid it.

There might have been another good reason. Gasoline shortages, and they certainly had these during WW2. If you have no gas for your own car it becomes REALLY tempting to, shall we say, 'borrow' some from a car that does have some. I suspect that it would very swiftly grow really old to leave your car with a nearly full tank and then upon returning to it find that more than half its gas was mysteriously gone... What so mysterious about it? You only need like half meter long tube, petrol can and not throw up too much from taste of gasoline. Capillary action is pretty well recognizable from magic.

No option to force them under your rule? Why would I sabotage building a village, if I can just wait until they pay me to build it?
  10. NP Friday March 17, 2017

Well, it's still better if they acknowledge they could do it themselves with the workbench than making it seems you are the only one with such magic powers. Basically, it's the trope of "we know this doesn't make sense but can't fix it so let's hang a lampshade on it".
  11. Story Friday March 17, 2017

Try to find better on source. Obviously, but note that the sooner she appears the more suspicious it will be. Somehow I suspect the posing girl is not actually girl at all.
  12. NP Wednesday March 15, 2017

It was one of these things that happened in occupied Denmark during WW2, giving German vehicles a little sugar rush. They even encouraged children to do it. I would be astounded if this did not also happen in other occupied countries. Not sure about you, but I do NOT remember WW2. If I actually remember it related to war (and it's not false memory created by association with the word "sabotage"), it's probably from some book about war ... and I did read multiple books about Biggles. Not sure if locking gas caps weren't developed only AFTER the war and exactly for this reason.
  13. NP Wednesday March 15, 2017

Hmmmm ... true, I vaguely remember something like that (maybe Biggles did it?). Still, just because piston internal combustion engine is bad for burning it doesn't mean you need external combustion. It may work fine in jet engine, for example. (Not sure how can you power robots with jet engines, though.)
  14. Story: Wednesday March 15, 2017

They don't have the same lunch period (first panel). This would also explain why Catalina didn't tried to talk with Elliot during lunch period ... if someone would be asking that.
  15. NP Wednesday March 15, 2017

I think that you might get acceptable results with high levels of oxygen. Considering sugar can explode ... but only when NOT wet.
  16. NP Wednesday March 15, 2017

Well yes, but I was playing on the Futurama-like gag of robots drinking actual made-for-human-consumption booze. Robots wouldn't do so well on stuff that has low proof and lots of sugar still in it (e.g. beer and wine)--they would want the highly-distilled stuff (e.g. whiskey). I think sugar burns reasonably well. Definitely compared to water. So yes on "no beer and wine", no for "because sugar" ... and I'm not sure about whiskey, although considering some people managed to build car running on it, it probably would work.
  17. Story: Wednesday March 15, 2017

I suspect that Dan again decided to cheat us out of the recapitulations and we soon find out that almost everybody knows almost everything despite barely talking about it. (In fact, didn't he stated it in Monday's comics commentary? Something about skipping around hundred pages?) Not necessary. It's possible they had other stuff to talk about during lunch (I mean, they DEFINITELY had other stuff to talk about and it might not get to this). Also, Elliot might not realize he should ask. Not speaking about Sarah possibly hearing something AFTER lunch, but this doesn't seem like he already asked.

Smoke? Even clear air if fast enough. It gets pretty messy with lots of unintended consequences. On the other hand, do you remember the discussion we had about resize in NP few pages pack? With several possible explanations, the least messy ones involving extremely curved space? I'm not saying superspeed doesn't get messy (although good point, Superman avoids most of the problems). I'm saying it's not only superpower which gets messy with lots of unintended consequences.
  19. Story: Monday, March 13, 2017

It gets really messy if you don't, to be honest. Almost forgot Superman. It may not really get messier than transformations or resizes Unless the authors really overdo it and make Flash move faster than light, still on Earth surface. Or Superman flying into past.
  20. Story: Wednesday March 15, 2017

To Edward it is. I can hardly wait to find out how Edward is going to fake a Cheerleadra sighting. I think we can rely on one thing, though: Whatever it is, Elliot will somehow screw the whole thing up. Those people might not be from school. I would suppose Edwards coverup is more for the kind of people who are researching this on Internet than people who actually know Elliot. And this coverup might include some "web chaff". I would expect DGB confiscated the security cameras footage. Of course, if someone catch that on phone ... But, yes, while "outing" mallgirl form would mean Elliot shouldn't be using it, it may be useful distraction ... Hmm, true enough. I had assumed from the EGS:NP Susan would be locking all comments, but it was never said if she did that... Or even that she locked any of them now that I think of it. Actually, considering when Playing with Dolls happened, perhaps Susan really didn't had time to lock anything ... it was what, three days ago? It's possible she was going over those comments WHILE locking them. Wait. They didn't had time to make any new video. This is THE video with the "gay" rumor ...
  21. Story: Monday, March 13, 2017

I was intentionally setting aside the bizarre logistics of actually jumping to supersonic speed inside a building... Well, Flash and Quicksilver were probably speeding to supersonic speeds inside buildings quite often. Also, several vampires. But I suspect authors of those put the logistics aside as well. I was just deliberately making fun of that "instantly".
  22. NP Wednesday March 15, 2017

I would assume that even without government insisting on poisoning alcohol not intended for consumption it would be simpler to create denatured alcohol than Everclear. Yes. In needs to be left eye. He had, but question is if he really counted it that way or it just adds up by chance.
  23. Story: Monday, March 13, 2017

I'm pretty sure that jumping instantly to supersonic speed would cause all sort of problems considering the energy needed. However, acceleration in millions of g seems relatively safe to everything except the accelerated stuff.
  24. I don't think Tedd had any better idea how it should work. He didn't know what genderfluid meant until Grace introduced him to the term, so it's pretty obvious that he didn't really understand nuances of sexuality and attraction when he was working on the TF Gun. True ; based on his level of understanding nuances of sexuality, he 1) might still not be aware of the deficiency I mentioned and 2) would likely be unable to fix it anyway. Yeah because Susan likely wasn't even remotely bisexual to begin with and she was suppressing any attraction to men at the time so while being FV5'd gave her some attraction to females, it probably would have negated that suppression towards males. Not sure about the suppressing, but I think the "more intense" was specific for FV5 which includes increased libido and amplified feelings of lust. Meaning, FV1 would NOT result in more intense heterosexual attraction.

Well, I am playing Eve Online, but it's not a twitch reaction type game. You don't fly your ship; you give commands. You are the captain, not the helmsman or gunner. You say where to go, and what to shoot and let the flunkies deal with the nuts and bolts. Wait ... is that how everyone plays Eve Online or just how you do? There is some mention about Rhea expansion on wikipedia ...
