  1. Story Monday, December 24, 2018

I don't think so. She was deliberately not telling any details to Sarah and while she confirmed she wanted to be with her son to Tedd I don't remember her talking with him about the clog at all ... I think she only told that to the Disco Wizard. If Voltaire could mark people himself, wouldn't we have seen more evidence of him doing so? He could have framed Pandora for a lot more than just manipulating Dex. He definitely can mark people, but as I said, he may need to tell them, which would complicate the framing ... also, he may have less luck finding targets matching his needs. Susan was marked ... however, SHE WAS TOLD. Yeah, I'm still waiting for Voltaire to say or do something that lets slip to Adrian that he was behind that one. I think the Main Characters know about that; didn't Voltaire take credit for it when he revealed himself and promised not to try to kill Elliot? Yes he did take credit, although he didn't described exactly what he did. Of course, we don't yet know what changes to their rules the Immortals may have made after their little conclave.... ... I don't think the conclave already happened (or maybe it started but didn't finished). Immortals don't look like the types who would make changes like that impulsively ... I think there would be actual discussion involved. ... of course, that's not relevant to what Pandora was doing BEFORE the change in magic.
  2. Story Monday, December 24, 2018

Yes ; even if Voltaire marked someone, Justin has no way to know and no reason to suspect. (And same is true for rest of cast ... Including Adrian, actually. BTW Adrian doesn't even know yet that the attack on Noah was orchestrated by Voltaire and not Pandora.) I don't think Justin would be so easy to convince to tell more, though. Even if he would reveal the "increase awareness of magic", given the obviousness of question "who's her son?", I would expect he would withhold that to protect Adrian. Also, staying with "to increase awareness of magic" opens the possibility of suggesting that they should lay low to sabotage that plan. Not that it would help much ...
  3. Story Friday December 21, 2018

... well, it's true that Pandora even in her age doesn't know everything (case in point - Seers), but I find it unlikely.
  4. EGS Christmas Special!

Sooo, did Nanase asked Tedd for those ears, or did her disguise spell which used to be limited to her hair got an upgrade? Me too. Not that Ellen's outfit is bad, but Nanase's better.
  5. Story Friday December 21, 2018

Except her comment seems more like she's saying she was mistaken. That Rhoda was already awaken because she's better talent that Pandora though. Note that all comments about Nanase's being royalty suggests size of magic talent could be directly measured by looking at aura. There was no doubt in Andrea's statement ... or, at least, while she wan't sure it means royalty, she was sure it's related to inherited talent and not "hard work" or something. And, we know that seers are chosen by bloodline, so inheritance definitely plays important role. Sure, we don't have much data points, so it may be just theory, or there are exception to that rule ... ... also, it's possible that measuring talent in non-awakened person is not completely reliable, but "Pandora didn't payed attention" looks like higher chance currently.
  6. Story Monday, December 24, 2018

Ad the comic: hmmm ... actually, do anyone knows Pandora's motivation? Besides Adrian, who can't be counted as super chick, and even he may not be sure about the whole picture ... Disco Wizard likely already doesn't remember. And it's not like Pandora needed to tell her plan to anyone. Or Voltaire. We were granted much more information of his plan(s) than any person and still have just bits of his plan we think we know how they go together. Ad the commentary: While the immortal may have additional non-random criteria who to mark, those may not necessary make sense. Like, maybe he plays game and every day marks someone whose name starts with another letter of alphabet. Camlin has no proof Pandora wan't doing Diane and Ellen after him ... (WE know they were never marked, but hard to say how would Luke see Ellen ...) Also, yes. It was never said that randomly marking people actually HELPED with that Immortal's boredom. Camdin looks like a good candidate for Voltaire to have fun with, but I doubt that's the case right now. Camdin's nosy and suspicious of everything, I don't think he'd even believed that he was marked as a plot to allow Pandora's son to have more freedom. Yes, nothing Camdin said so far suggest any Voltaire's influence, but he may be good target in future ... Can he? That thing with controlling Dex was nice show of bending rules, but it's possible he's not powerful (or clever) enough to copy Pandora's trick of marking someone without talking to him. In such situation, I suppose he would definitely prefer not being hot.
  7. Story Friday December 21, 2018

... ok, now I'm having a tough time understanding this statement. Did you confused the timeline? Chronologically, first, Pandora marks Rhoda thinking she's D-rank talent with S-rank spell, either due to not looking closely on her, or ... maybe Rhoda's shyness made her harder to mark and Pandora mistaken that for low talent? Second, Pandora noticed Rhoda is actually S-rank talent. Third, she talked with Sarah. At that point she KNEW for sure Rhoda never was actual D-rank talent. I think that she didn't wanted to misinform her friend Sarah, so she looked very thoroughly to not repeat the same mistake. And maybe that's the reason she admitted she's not sure about something? That said, yes, her assumption that Rhoda is D-rank talent with S-rank spell could've influenced how long she expected Rhoda would need to awaken.
  8. NP, Monday December 24, 2018

Soooo ... the twist is there is no twist? Are you sure? Maybe not all at once. Just because all Sarah's clothing was on one pile doesn't mean the pile isn't now one piece of clothing smaller.
  9. Story Friday December 21, 2018

I'm having a tough time understanding this statement. You're saying that Pandora knew Rhoda had awakened this whole time and when Rhoda used her other spells, she acted surprised just for the heck of it? I apologize if that's not what you mean, but I figure that Pandora would have to look at someone with the intent of assessing their potential in order to know if someone can be marked or awakened or how close to awakening they are. For Pandora I would imagine it'd be a quick matter, but I don't think she'd have done that to Rhoda until after the surprise. I consider most likely what you said: that despite the analysis being quick and simple for her, she didn't do it until after the surprise. To support that idea, I noted that it wasn't that long since the first point where she MIGHT do it to the point she did. However, there is second possibility, which interprets her surprise differently. In that case, she would know that Rhoda awakened the moment she saw her, but didn't do any detail analysis and just supposed that she awakened recently. But after seeing she has not one, but TWO new spells, she was surprised by it, because it meant enough time passed from her awakening to get third spell. Clearer like this? Again, I consider the first possibility more likely. While someone like Pandora probably COULD have the analysis always on, she likely opted not to, so she can be surprised more easily.
  10. NP Friday December 21, 2018

She was already planning on writing a scathing review, so I was being generous here. And what if the temple was procedurally generated? I mean the puzzles themselves probably aren't, but their order might be randomized, and maybe there's another set of puzzles that get swapped in from time to time at random too, so that each run through is rarely the same. I meant specifically to change as reaction to the review. WHO? The World Health Organization? Why would they be operating Dungeons? Ok, I didn't meant WHO or Who, but who - just emphasis. Not sure if WHO or the Doctor are more likely to operate the Dungeon, I would expect neither would.
  11. Story Friday December 21, 2018

Pandora marked Rhoda on a whim and didn't pay any attention to her after that, also Pandora did have a thing for not wanting to predict outcomes, it made things less boring for her, so it's likely that Pandora just glimpsed at the kind of spell would fit Rhoda, but didn't do a thorough check to see what kind of potential she had. More importantly, in the Mall, she already knew Rhoda is marked and didn't bothered to scan her, paying attention to Catalina instead. She had like few seconds between too bored to pay attention and realizing that Rhoda is using new spell. And that's ignoring the possibility that she KNEW Rhoda awakened and her "When the hell did she awaken" was because her previous assumption was "ok, I did noticed she's awakened, it was probably recently considering when I marked her". Yes. And he was personally interested due to Kevin, so I totally think he scanned her personally. Depends on how big organization the paranormal division is. But he WAS head of it for some time and certainly DID uses his abilities to choose which agents to promote and who to recruit. I can even see him going to some military academy, scanning everyone and recruit the ones with magic talent. I don't think anyone would consider it suspicious or extraordinary. Agree. It's normal that Justin makes such assumption, but Edward was negligent to not verify if Justin awakened or not. And, yes, might've been due to Arthur's appearance distracted him and he forgot about it. After all, even if it WAS result of ASMA training, so would be eventually awakening: sure, Nanase was awakened by immortals and Elliot by the diamond, but even without that and without being marked, Justin would eventually awaken. Of course, Edward is not seeing Justin as often as others from main eight. It's possible that on next opportunity, he mentions something like "this reminds me, I should probably scan you to see how far you are from awakening". Unless, like, Tedd notices sooner: currently he doesn't know what to look for (and was actually not looking at Justin as far as we know, last time he tried he noticed Luke instead).
  12. NP Friday December 21, 2018

I was off in the timing of nudity, didn't expect Sarah think about the handkerchief possibly ruining the balance, but seeing as she was shrunk out of her clothing to begin with, the intention of the puzzle was likely for her to be naked the whole time. I'm sure she'll leave a comment at the end along the lines of "scale puzzle was alright, but would have be better if I was shrunk with my clothes, even if that meant shrinking a but smaller to keep the desired weight." I'm not sure if she would be leaving so detailed review. Also, wouldn't such review tell too much? ... and, review or not, do you expect the puzzle can change? Like, who would change it? (EDIT: Replaced capitalization with bold for emphasis)
  13. Story Friday December 21, 2018

There was likely diminishing returns on each use, though Pandora did say that Sarah was making progress towards awakening Of course she did. Just probably not more than if she would be casting it four times per day. Meanwhile, three times per hour was close to maximum she can do WITH ambient magic, training value or not. She could have also been referring to being awakened by an Immortal vs naturally awakening, like Nanase was awakened by an Immortal despite having been dreaming naturally, and Susan was marked by an Immortal but awakened naturally, they probably don't have similar looking auras than Justin who was both marked and awakened by an immortal. I would definitely expect Susan's angst-induced awakening leaves some differences in aura ... and yes, Luke probably wouldn't notice THOSE either ... but I would expect the difference between awakening and dreaming in general would be more visible and therefore more noteworthy that Luke wouldn't know the difference. Now, difference between naturally dreaming and marked? It's possible that awakening hides them, just like it clears the mark itself. On the other hand, it's possible something remains, just like the spell from the mark which turns into "normal" ...
  14. NP Friday December 21, 2018

But apparently Sarah's afraid of that possibility. (Which ironically means we probably won't find out if it would have made a difference, at least not in the comic itself.) Well, better safe than sorry. It's one think to consider something unlikely and another to bet your life on it not being true. Also, I think the ship about being "dirty cartoonist" already sailed. Still, I'm confused: Why does Dan says it as if it would be bad thing?
  15. Story Friday December 21, 2018

And then almost immediately had Sarah start using her spell several times an hour, specifically to use up ambient magic, so Sarah may or may not have been using her own magic enough to help build her reserves and Awaken. The point is that to use ambient magic, Sarah was using the spell more often than useful for training. She did as much training casting the spell several times per hour as if she was casting it several times per day, because the amount of training she got was limited by how much her own magic she put into the spell. Or just to troll people.... Sarah was exception because she knew about magic marks. Others didn't, so finding out the mark before the spell wouldn't help them - BUT when they find the spell, they would be like "(facepalm) so THATS what the mark is for, so obvious". Or possibly it might turn out to be Ashley's mark. Dan had already introduced Ashley. Reversal can also mean healing and Dan had Pandora identify healing power as an affinity of Ashley's. Unlike Tedd's friends, Arthur Arthur is PROFESSIONAL. He certainly DID tested Ashley for magic marks when he was testing her and finding she was wizard. And he would mention it. The person on the phone said "You owe us" for pizza, implying at least one other person in their little group. Obviously, that other person doesn't NEED to be marked, but I agree with Scotty: I think Luke has another marked friend. Note: I'm pretty certain that she MEANT that Luke doesn't know difference between someone currently marked and someone who used to be marked but then (was) awakened. Not anything specific about her doing it.
  16. Story, Monday Dec 17, 2018

Poor kid. ... not like Grace's childhood sucking was anything new. Dan even apologized for it and gave her bear.
  17. Story Friday December 21, 2018

Or, maybe he can transform to cloud, like some vampires (mist form). That's how it looks to me. Yes. Although the crimes Sarah can do are considered more dangerous. Camdin wouldn't be able to get into nucler football ... Sarah would and noone will notice. It's the contrast symbol on TV. ... no idea what spell it could be based on this. Exactly. With or without her antennae out? Not THAT lot, IMHO, and she was mostly using ambient magic. Pandora warned her that more than four times per day wouldn't really help. You mean it's not how PANDORA is working. I think Dan even directly stated somewhere that Pandora is deliberately shaping the marks as clues. Hmmm ... power to reverse spells, that MIGHT match what Liz was saying ...
  18. Sketchbook, Tuesday Dec 18, 2018

Well, if you can't find carpet with right color ... Real hardcore is MAKING the carpet from your dog's fur. I mean, would probably take long time, but technically it would be possible, right?
  19. NP Wednesday, Dec 19, 2018

That would be VERY sensitive scales ...
  20. Story, Monday Dec 17, 2018

Just kids? Actually, what OTHER assumption you can have? EVERYONE assumes that their personal experience is normal until finding out it isn't. Adults just had more opportunities to find out. ... if she was more trained than raised, I can totally imagine others not noticing because of not paying attention to what she's saying. And, the same is true for telekinesis. Unless they expected it or noticed by chance, Grace could've do a lot of things without anyone noticing. It's only required secondary power if the telekinesis is not limited to what you see anyway. But it does sound like COMMON secondary power even if not required.
  21. Story, Wednesday Dec 19, 2018

    Yes Obviously.
  22. NP Wednesday, Dec 19, 2018

Also, she was distracted by her lack of clothes. Not sure if Nanase would be distracted like that ... Grace definitely wouldn't. They are first who entered the dungeon aren't they? Noone knows if it's easy or hard. I completely understand Diane not wanting to risk herself. (Also, I doubt she would be able to climb the wall, Gecko or not. I mean, real Diane, probably, but this rich one?) The moment of nakedness will occur, but we won't get to see it. She definitely WON'T have lost all her clothes and be forced to go through the rest of the dungeon nude. (Although it's possible she'll have lost all her clothes and be forced to get some spares out of her backpack.) ... unfortunately. This, meanwhile, may happen.
  23. Story, Wednesday Dec 19, 2018

Like, three times during someone saying the sentence "Hey, Tedd, are you male or female now?" ?
  24. NP, Monday December 17, 2018

Possibly not ALL the weights, but yes: it would make the puzzle harder (and therefore more interesting) if something should be put on the heavy side as well. AND it would then make sense that there are multiple weights - they would need to exactly balance out Nanase.
  25. NP Wednesday, Dec 19, 2018

... which is one of the reasons I was saying it's not the only possibility. But it's true that Dan even used same reasoning - that Sarah being too small to put the blocks in barely mattered. Well, maybe there would be another twist. Waaait ... if Sarah gets on the scale, activates it and starts transforming back, it would make the scale unbalanced again ... except that's not puzzle as I don't see how to rebalance it fast enough no matter if she would think about it or not.
