That would be VERY sensitive scales ...
  2. Story, Monday Dec 17, 2018

Just kids? Actually, what OTHER assumption you can have? EVERYONE assumes that their personal experience is normal until finding out it isn't. Adults just had more opportunities to find out. ... if she was more trained than raised, I can totally imagine others not noticing because of not paying attention to what she's saying. And, the same is true for telekinesis. Unless they expected it or noticed by chance, Grace could've do a lot of things without anyone noticing. It's only required secondary power if the telekinesis is not limited to what you see anyway. But it does sound like COMMON secondary power even if not required.
  3. Story, Wednesday Dec 19, 2018

    Yes Obviously.
  4. NP Wednesday, Dec 19, 2018

Also, she was distracted by her lack of clothes. Not sure if Nanase would be distracted like that ... Grace definitely wouldn't. They are first who entered the dungeon aren't they? Noone knows if it's easy or hard. I completely understand Diane not wanting to risk herself. (Also, I doubt she would be able to climb the wall, Gecko or not. I mean, real Diane, probably, but this rich one?) The moment of nakedness will occur, but we won't get to see it. She definitely WON'T have lost all her clothes and be forced to go through the rest of the dungeon nude. (Although it's possible she'll have lost all her clothes and be forced to get some spares out of her backpack.) ... unfortunately. This, meanwhile, may happen.
  5. Story, Wednesday Dec 19, 2018

Like, three times during someone saying the sentence "Hey, Tedd, are you male or female now?" ?
  6. NP, Monday December 17, 2018

Possibly not ALL the weights, but yes: it would make the puzzle harder (and therefore more interesting) if something should be put on the heavy side as well. AND it would then make sense that there are multiple weights - they would need to exactly balance out Nanase.
  7. NP Wednesday, Dec 19, 2018

... which is one of the reasons I was saying it's not the only possibility. But it's true that Dan even used same reasoning - that Sarah being too small to put the blocks in barely mattered. Well, maybe there would be another twist. Waaait ... if Sarah gets on the scale, activates it and starts transforming back, it would make the scale unbalanced again ... except that's not puzzle as I don't see how to rebalance it fast enough no matter if she would think about it or not.
  8. Story, Wednesday Dec 19, 2018

Except she didn't had the ability to retract her antennae until recently - she only got this ability when obtaining "claire" form. But, on the other hand, she had no opportunity to be in crowd before ; she learned to ignore "background noise" of the base, maybe forest if it was in her range, but not background noise of large crowd of people. Already mentioned that. Even his friends have trouble and that's not filtered by being a comic, so to speak. Exactly. ESPECIALLY Justin seem to have trouble with that.
  9. Story, Wednesday Dec 19, 2018

Well, this is not first time Grace mentioned that sometimes is good having her senses off. I'm surprised it's not in references. Maybe Dan forget? ... where it could've been ... EDIT: found it I didn't. And, frankly, even knowing it I barely see it. That's not change blindness, that's "she looks almost as he does".
  10. NP, Monday December 17, 2018

Like, I wouldn't be surprised if that turns out to be the solution, but 1) the difference seem bigger than how much she weights (although the scales might be more sensitive than they seem) 2) I definitely don't think it's the only possibility. You were not able to suggest any solution quickly and look at how many times shrinking appears in comic - shrinking may easily be first way to immobilize Sarah Dan came up with.
  11. NP, Monday December 17, 2018

The motto of the dungeon are transformations, so to ask again: how (better) would you expect she can be immobilized by transformation? Yes, I also think this is the reason, despite Gracesaur being leading example than calling all plants inanimate is specisism and rudely generalistic. I also suspect that Abraham is special case, or maybe it's because he's less transformed to statue and more in stasis.
  12. Story, Monday Dec 17, 2018

I'd still think that if the scientists knew about Grace's telekinetic abilities, they'd have made some attempts to get her to use them, it'd seem like a wasted opportunity to not try to harness it at a young age. Not if it was weak and tired her quickly. My thought was maybe at some point she telekinetically "jostled" something, but either her sense wasn't developed enough to tell it had moved, or she didn't have confidence in her sense yet. If she didn't see it move or otherwise sense it with any of her senses besides her telekinetic sense, she might either never have noticed, or noticed but assumed it was just her imagination. Considering how much effort is required for her to move something, I would say it's hard to not notice ... but, yes, she might consider it just her imagination. Like, I would assume that she move something basically by focusing on her sense of telekinetical touch of that object.
  13. Story, Monday Dec 17, 2018

IMHO not directly, however getting zapped allowed her to use more powerful forms - and seems that her telekinesis is very limited in all her original forms. Note that this explanation was later called version of the story that we tell people who aren't in "the need to know". Might not be entirely exact. Hmmmm ... maybe she did moved something when young and playing, but she didn't get lot of opportunities to play so she forgot? She can ONLY move something she is sensing with her telekinesis touch sense. I think it WASN'T powerful or accurate enough to be used in fight until she got better forms (level 3 or more).
  14. NP, Monday December 17, 2018

Obviously someone NEEDS to remain intelligent and making her small IS almost as good as immobilizing her ... what would you expect? Transforming her to tree? Hard to speak that way ... and, note that we have no case of people transformed to plants in EGS yet.
  15. NP, Monday December 17, 2018

They have the backpack and Sarah's clothes. However, I suspect there will be something specific they need to add for it to work. Just, unlikely to be Sarah, she can't be THAT heavy. Also, I expect some weights are supposed to remain off. It's about balancing it, not put everything in.
  16. Sketchbook, Tuesday Dec 18, 2018

Of course we do. We can comment Dan's comment, as that is apparently different. Still think that Nanase's color scheme being pink-pink-pink is not nonsense but a logical way to highlight how simple she is now. Also, I think there are dolls dressed similarly with similar rationale. Nothing lazy about that.
  17. Story, Monday Dec 17, 2018

Considering X-Men/Marvel and EGS are entirely different fictional multiverses / continuities, you can't really use power-scaling in one series to judge power-scaling in the other. Not seriously. However, we are doing similar stuff all the time, for fun. If it's not two different abilities but almost part of same ability, then having both would make sense. On the other hand, yes, even then you may focus more on one and have the other weaker. Also, Grace is powerful but she can't be compared to Phoenix. Now, was Jean Gray Phoenix at that point? Hell, how should I know? X-Men are confusing. I would be surprised if she never moved anything before. However, it was likely in much smaller scale. Like, based on how she explains it, she likely "poked" something with her telekinesis before, but possibly not actually lift unless it was something really light.
  18. Story, Monday Dec 17, 2018

No. Adrian senses magic. I don't think Grace senses magic ... or at least she didn't before the magic change. Hey, this is another thing which may happen - it's possible this is first time she actually focuses or her senses since the magic change, and she may notice she senses more now ... BTW, regarding the "(using telekinesis) would be more difficult than just picking them up" ... well, Jean Grey would pick them all at once, but I guess Grace would need one after one. Still, I remember some comics where Jean Grey explained that not only she can now hold silverware for whole school at once, but she can also sense if someone is touching them ... which would suggest this Grace's sense is not THAT weak ability when Jean Grey only got it as upgrade.
  19. Story, Monday Dec 17, 2018

Justin is totally the correct person for this. Mimics that half of readers expected she will be using telekinesis. And other half that she will be flying. I mean, noone guessed she just wanted more senses. Yes. I really consider this to be one of Dan’s problems as a storyteller. Occasionally — not as often as in the past, thankfully — he completely drops the “show, don’t tell” rule and an entire page or more turns into an expository lump. She IS showing it ... although, yes, also explaining ... ... and, while I don't think this will lead to someone seeing her ... maybe this will allow her sensing someone else? ... or, Dan really just wanted to get it out before she will need to use this ability "for real" - I mean, when it became plot point she can do that. Based on how many readers failed to understand Sarah's spell, I would say his concert is justified. Yes, sometimes it seems like taking too long, but I prefer it to not explaining enough ... in fact, there are more things I would like to have explained. Guess some of them are on that pile Dan speaks about ... (tilting back to see the pile. The top of it is hidden in clouds.) ... I don't think panel or two would be enough, but I agree that it could be done shorter ...
  20. Story Friday, December 14, 2018

Considering the danger that Damien posed, and the nature of his creation, if Adrian did find himself anywhere near Damien, the rules shouldn't have applied. Adrian wasn't allowed to join a country's military because he would provide that side an advantage with magic, but Damien was an unnatural being that already had the attention of people in the know and with similar skills as Adrian, so the only things the could have stopped Adrian from acting would either have been him considering Damien to be more powerful than himself, or he was following the orders of someone else, like if he was told to take Noah to safety. He said he can act directly if the situation involves magic or is an immediate thread to himself or others. Both Abraham and aberrations fulfilled BOTH conditions. Army, meanwhile? He couldn't pass the training. We are not entirely sure if the way Damien was created counts as magic enough. In fact, even Adrian himself may not be sure. And the point about "immediate thread" ... hmmm ... he might need to give Damien first hit. However, I don't think it would be problem. He could even seriously try to talk him down and Damien would still attack. Tracking down Damien probably doesn't count as fighting so he would be allowed, but I still think that he did not consider it his job and didn't exactly have time for it. Also, he may not be THAT good in hunting people. So, it's quite understandable that other people in DGB were searching for Damien and Adrian was just ready to help. And remember, Edward was not on place when Damien attacked. Nor anyone else from DGB, based on the fact it wasn't serious fight. I think that DGB including Edward AND Adrian arrived at the place AFTER Damiens attacked, but too late to actually meet him. But soon enough to take the cats. And Noah never met Damien. Damien killed his parents but he was not there. He never met his mother.
  21. Story Friday, December 14, 2018

There is the matter of Noah training to become strong enough to kill Damien, why would Adrian allow that? Were they going to double team Damien? Was Noah going to fight alone? Did Adrian feel that Noah, properly trained, could be more capable in fighting Damien than he could be? I don't think Noah's and Adrian's opinion on this matched. Like, there are lot of possibilities, including the fact that Noah would be willing to try to track Damien, while Adrian didn't think it's worth the time. But I would think that while Noah might be willing to fight Damien alone, Adrian wouldn't like that. On the other hand, doesn't mean Adrian was not aware at all: he might've been training Noah for that either because he realized he can't convince Noah otherwise, or hoping he WILL convince him during the training. Or, yes, he might've planned they will double team him (possibly in the variant of Noah finding him and then calling Adrian for help before the fight) OR Adrian was planing to find someone else who will team with Noah. (It is possible that if Hedge wouldn't find Grace so fast, OR if Edward would be little more willing to cooperate, Grace would team up with Noah to kill Damien ... actually, IF this would be computer game, I would totally wonder where did I missed the option to recruit Noah to party before Painted Black ; alternatively, Noah would be VERY likely to end up in party to fight Damien second time if he would escape first time.) Regardless that: There may be training allowing Noah to win fight with Damien. Like, Damien was all about fire, maybe using water would give Noah type advantage? In such case however, I don't think Adrian wouldn't be able to use same strategy. Or generally, no, I don't think Noah can be trained to be more capable in fighting Damien than Adrian. Unless the training itself needs to include something Adrian can't do due to rules.

I like the middle one, hair color is better. The first one matches the scenario most, as Dan noted. The spell would make her pink to highlight the lowering of intelligence. The second is the "keep the palette" option. Is the second most obvious choice, and matches Nanase Craft when ignoring the lowering the intelligence. The third one ... well ... I think the work spend on color coordination is lost on me. I don't think it's better than either of the first two options, and see no reason why should the spell transform her this way. ... speaking about it, I think the spell would be supposed to make the swimsuit more sexy and/or less practical as well, but likely failed to find better option
  23. Story Friday, December 14, 2018

Probably from the lab that created Grace and Hedge. Experimental animals. This might imply that Adrian and Edward were working together then. Yes, exactly my point. The point is that even stepping on a d4 HURTS. Just because it is less hazardous than stepping on an actual caltrop doesn’t mean it isn’t worth avoiding. And while a d4 may not be an actual caltrop it does share its most important trait: if it falls onto a flat surface it will always land with a point up. While true, I think Grace is exaggerating/overreacting. Of course, this is Grace: this MAY be normal for her. But Adrian took on Gullet anyway. What gave Adrian a chance against Gullet was the sword he borrowed from Susan. Adrian killed the previous vampire with a superspeed dash; the massive damage caused by the sword would probably have worked against Damien's magic-based power as well or better than Grace's claws. However, given the way Adrian fought against Abraham, I think Adrian would have attacked anyway, so I don't think Adrian ever did confront Damien. Either Damien would have killed Adrian (in which case Pandora would have certainly killed Damien) or Adrian would have managed to kill Damien. It's clear from Damien's fight with Grace that he was never seriously hurt in a fight before and probably never had trouble killing anyone. Aberrations are extremely hard to kill with anything else than summoned weapons ; fighting Damien, Adrian could use other options, just like in his fight with Abraham - but with Gullet, he decided the sword is his optimal chance, AND overestimated his opponent - he expected Gullet will have more than just fire. I think Adrian WOULD fight Damien, and that he would NOT insist on taking his alone so it would be sporting. Even if he would for some reason end up against him alone, it would DEFINITELY not be easy fight for Damien - and, yes, based on his fight with Grace, it's obvious he was never in such fight. Note that besides the "Adrian will be killed" and "Damien would be killed", there is obvious option that Adrian will win, but won't kill because he's not that kind of person, underestimates Damien's regeneration and Damien will escape. To conclude, I think that Adrian was reading the file on Damien and was preparing to fight him, but never get the option because they never knew where he is. Remember that they kept moving ; they only returned to the Nest when enough time passed for it to not be expected option. Yes, Adrian wasn't able to hold the shield forever, but neither was Gullet capable of holding the fire forever, and besides their power, another variable is which spell consumes more energy. Adrian seemed worried with what will Gullet do next, but didn't seem to consider "keep the fire until you run out of energy" to be an option. Even "ordinary" summoned magic weapons are supereffective against aberrations, and yes, I don't think Damien would be vulnerable in this way. On the other hand, I don't think his regeneration is comparable to the kind of regeneration aberrations have. And yes: we don't know if Lespuko claws works against aberrations. I wouldn't rely on that on Grace's place. They are not summoned.
  24. Story Friday, December 14, 2018

Adrian might beg to differ. I mean Adrian apparently had some idea of Damien's power if he could compare Grace to Damien in that way. It's possible that even Adrian didn't think he'd be strong enough to fight Damien, I would think that Damien would fall under what Adrian would consider acceptable conditions for getting involved, heck maybe he did get involved originally and that's how he ended up with Noah. ... and Max. I mean, where else would Adrian AND Edward get such strange "cats"? Even if Adrian has less raw power, he certainly has more experience, so I don't believe he wouldn't be able to defeat Damien. However, I think he didn't have time to track him. Also, I would assume DGB would be able to defeat him, maybe not just one of them but together definitely ... they didn't fight him because they didn't knew where he was.
  25. Story Friday, December 14, 2018

Greg noticed a significant power shift when Grace changed forms, and it's assumed that her Omega form makes her the most ridiculously overpowered person in Moperville. Ehm. Just when Justin was thinking it, there were at least TWO much more powerful beings IN THE SAME ROOM. Namely, Tedd ... and Pandora. I also wouldn't be so sure Grace is more powerful than Adrian. Was Arthur Arthur, another seer, at Moperville at that time? What about agent Wolf, the most powerful wizard in mid-western United States? I think that the mix-and-matched forms are more powerful than her basic forms because she used mix-and-match to create them. When creating her Omega form, she only had access to few animal forms, but she has more forms now and might be capable of creating more powerful forms without the fur. Yes. Missed that. But she didn't get full control of that paper airplane. Dice weigh more than paper airplanes, unless we're going with Yoda's "size matters not". Dices weigh more BUT they have less air resistance. I think she crashed the plane because she underestimate air resistance ... AND that she was deliberately trying to let the paper airplane fly as naturally as possible to provide cover. So, I doubt she will have problems with dice.
