Some ancient Egyptian mathematician or priest, I bet.

I must confess that I personally have been suspicious of Nioi. Not of her motivations -- I believe that she means well -- but rather of her actions, which strike me as in many cases impulsive and perhaps not that well thought out. She was unsure of the 'soul' problem that she brought up and the problem is that just because certain events seem to correspond, it does not follow that there is also correlation. Then there's the problems that you yourself have pointed out and we end up with a well-intended meddler who may be causing more trouble than she prevents or is trying to solve. :/

It's new to people here. You don't have to sit on it for that reason!

The prize presumably being to get to set the table upright again? o.o

"Shit. The other guys got captured, locked into a garage that conveniently held a car and a crapload of tools, and then modified the car into an APC and busted their way past dozens of goons shooting madly at them? This Moperville place sounds like a bad action TV series."

Big talk from the Pharaoh who had an entire book written as an instruction manual of what to do after you die.

Time doth pass. I find some contentment in the fact that at least some old friends remain.
-
I did. I also said that distance and strength of bond are not the same thing. It is possible to have a distant relationship that is nonetheless tied very strongly to one. It is also possible to have a close relationship based on only the flimsiest of ties. Again, it can create an extremely strong bond to survive combat together, especially if one has relied on one another to survive. Nanase and Susan might have parted ways after this event without having become much closer to one another, but the shared experience would have rendered their bond all but unbreakable no matter how distant they might be or how long a time they might have been apart. And with that sort of connection you may tell even a distant friend what you would never tell even your own sibling.
-
Distance and strength of bond are not the same thing. They had fought side by side in a life-and-death situation -- that can create a very strong bond even with someone you do not know well. Also, Susan had already raised the possibility that Nanase was gay once, or so this page seems to indicate. It is not unreasonable that Nanase would turn to Susan in a situation like the one at her house.
-
They didn't have one. Susan's main reason for keeping contact was the vampire slaying. She used that contact to get hold of Nanase when the goo attacked for the second time.
-
Oof. Hope you get better soon, then. :/

No no no no. One, it would not be required to. We can observe relativistic time differences even inside our own universe. Two, the Gooniverse is actually moving along a fractalized trapezoid-shaped path on the inside surface of the Fermionic Klein bottle shaped and held in stasis by the opposing pulls of the Source and the Rock of Eternity.
-
Nonsense. The laws of physics are the same. It is just that Earth-Moperville and its solar system is moving on a superhyperelliptotoroidal trajectory around and between three singularities in interlocking orbits at high speed. This causes the minor time distortions we have observed.
-
Nonsense. Due to mural efficiency, Principal Verrückt has set Moperville's calendar to be equal to the Periodic Table. The current date is the 32nd of Germanium.

Computer General Discussion and Tech Help
The Old Hack replied to ProfessorTomoe's topic in Off Topic Discussion
You know, I can best illustrate how effective the soundtrack was with a particular anecdote from the game. From time to time we decided to switch from co-op to deathmatch for variety's sake. During one of these matches we for some reason started to use proximity bombs a lot. Very soon it turned into a sheer proximity bomb grudge match. The consarned things got placed everywhere we felt the other would be likely to run past and soon the entire map had turned into a minefield. We didn't even really know where the other was anymore, the only hints we got was periodic distant explosions from the other setting the bombs off. And of course the beeps and BOOMs from the bombs we ourselves ran into. Above all, there was the soundtrack. Usually it would be frequently drowned out by weapons discharges and the screams and howls of various monsters. Not this time. It played on uninterruptedly, punctuated only by the occasional BOOM of one of us stepping too close to a proximity bomb. It was utterly hilarious. Kind of like the 1812 Ouverture only with game music and proximity bombs instead of cannon discharges. Jens and I laughed so hard. Funniest thing of it all was the score at the end of the match. When we ended it, it stood at 20-20. -
Computer General Discussion and Tech Help

Prof, I played the CRAP out of Shadow Warrior in my day, together with one of my best friends. The one who passed away last year. We both loved the game and the soundtrack. It was awesome. You helped give us some of the best laughs we ever had playing computer games together. As far as I am concerned, you are damned well a musician and a bloody good one. Composing in electronic media is just as valid as any other. And if the involved music gives good memories, it is art at its finest. -
Ah. That, I can fully respect and empathise with. My own departed and sadly missed cats were very good company when I was working at the computer. Mind you, sometimes they would walk in front of the screen and step on the keyboard in a bid for attention. I did not really mind as they didn't do it too often and I usually decided that was a good time to take a break to pay attention to the kitties. (There was of course the time where one of my cats wiped an entire 40-man World of Warcraft raid single-pawedly. I was busy healing the main tank as she stepped on my Divine Intervention emergency hotkey. This made the main tank invulnerable and removed him from combat, which meant that the boss was free to take his rage out on the rest of us. Seconds later most of the healers were dead and half a minute after all that remained on the battlefield was a huge pile of corpses and the rather bemused main tank. Who was completely fine once my Divine Intervention forcefield was gone.) But all such shenanigans aside, my cats were fine company and a source of great joy to me. I once laughed myself sick because I had left my comp idle with Diablo 2 running. When I came back, one of my cats was frantically clawing at the monitor in an attempt to murder my henchman, who kept moving randomly around the screen while my character idled. She was nearly going berserk at him. My other cat stared at his sister like she had gone crazy and I decided to prolong my break because I didn't have the heart to interrupt her fun. Good luck with the kitty, mlooney. Post pictures of her if you get the chance to, please?

Nonetheless it is a good thing you are doing. I hope your sister appreciates the effort. Keeping kitties happy is a demanding task, if one I personally find very worthwhile.

Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Hush. I declared you Optimus Prime so you are stuck with it. Don can be Alpha Trion. -
Hm. I personally am not upset by it but I can follow your reasoning. Mind you, Nanase was already doing ASMA at the time, as Scotty showed in the above post, so at least we have a link between Elliot and Nanase. Still, I agree that it couldn't hurt to get it fleshed out a bit at some point.
-
Because she was going to France and France is far away from Moperville? Or maybe because he had to/wanted to latch on to someone and didn't want to just follow some random person who had no connection to Elliot and Moperville at all.

Don't be ridiculous. We all know that your heart belongs to the Tournament Crocodile-Assisted Nile-Crossing Speed Swimming competition. The crocodiles provide motivation to swim faster.

Susan has always been rich. Look at that massive mansion she and her mother are living in. Oh, I guess it is just a hovel compared to your various palaces. Ah well.
