Ah, thanks. I was running out of power for the central unit of my Chron-O-John.
  2. Things That Are Just Annoying

Duh! Because otherwise they might actually make money! >.<
  3. Things That Are Just Annoying

That would have been impressive if it had been back in 1997. Back then I was overjoyed if I could get it to consistently download 3K/s. Today... not so much. Gah.
  4. The Weather.

I don't know why but I actually kind of enjoy thunderstorms as long as I am indoors. Of course, that isn't when I am actually trying to sleep. :/
  5. Last Post Wins

    Anyone seen my polonium?
  6. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

I am sorry. I have an idea of how hard it must be for both of you. I spent years being terrified of medication, too, so I have at least an inkling of how she feels. Please tell her that she has my sympathies and that I hope you will both make it through this. If you wish me to, I'll relate some of my own experiences. I am not sure if they will be of any use but they might possibly give a little perspective.

No. I and my wife gave up on the series after a while. We loved some of the initial episodes and many of the ideas, but... well. Suffice it to say that we were dissatisfied with what the series became. I do not wish to start an argument about the quality of the series; it had many good points even later on and I do not wish to offend its fans.
  8. Story Wednesday August 16th, 2017

*sigh* Poor Pandora. "We could be immortals, immortals, just not for long, for long..."
  9. Story Monday August 14, 2017

This may be a little off topic but I hated what Kikyo eventually got turned into. I am not going into detail but she severely ticks me off. *muttermuttergrumble*
  10. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Ah yes. I remember many a time where I woke up with an outbreak of cats. Gallopping all over the apartment chasing one another and finally settling down right on top of me for a kitty wrestling match. It is a little hard to go back to sleep after an experience like that one.
  11. Story Monday August 14, 2017

So, what are these about? Demon fishermen, or possibly the geometry of evil? *scratches head*
  12. More Speculation.

*scratches head* So which legislative body makes Immoral Law and isn't that kind of a contradiction of terms, sorta like Unethical Principles?
  13. The Weather.

I hear you. Me, too. Me, too.
  14. The Weather.

As long as it isn't a sharknado. Or as it happened in Z Nation, a zombienado.
  15. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

I am sorry, old friend. Struggling with medication can be a terrible thing. :/
  16. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

I am really sorry to hear. If you do have to go see another doctor, some advice. Your current doctor seems to have his head screwed on straight. Ask him for a recommendation of whom to go see.
  17. Loudmouth's Journey Inside

I still think it is a little unfair to call him Dumbass when he was so hard to capture.
  18. Political Discussion Thread (READ FIRST POST)

Bending my own rule about posting here again... I was thinking of my great grandfather. In the early years of his life, he pursued a successful career as a travelling merchant in Siberia and eventually amassed a fairly decent pile of money. In the summer of 1914, he was on a vacation in Germany. Then the World War began and Russians became rather unwelcome in Germany. On New Year's Eve 1914, he brought his family to Denmark and rather than return to Russia he decided to stay in Denmark and see how matters developed. Around 1918 he decided that Denmark was probably a better place to live in than Russia and decided to stay. There, my grandmother eventually met my grandfather (another refugee from Russia) and married him. In the summer of 1939 my great grandfather went on another vacation. This time he went to the US bringing along my grandmother's younger sister. Then the second World War broke out. Once again my great grandfather decided to extend his stay rather than return to Denmark. Being by this time moderately prosperous he bought a home in Beverly Hills and awaited events. Sadly the old gentleman passed away in 1943, leaving his property to my great-aunt who took up permanent residence in the US afterwards. You could say a lot of things about my great-grandfather, but his sense of timing was impeccable.
  19. What are you learning?

It's still good to see you. Come as often as you like, stay as long as you like, and please have fun.
  20. What are you learning?

I remember that. So embarrassing. Isn't it enough already that people know I am an old hack?
  21. NP Friday August 4, 2017

Yeah, just a conservative one. But nothing wrong with that, is there?
  22. NP Friday August 4, 2017

That was his great grandfather. And the poor sod had never gotten over being disinherited by his father for daring to scorn the sacred family tradition of flinging poo.
  23. NP Friday August 4, 2017

So did he. It displayed a big stick man tearing at his head while little stick men children ran after ochre coloured herd animals using sticks with sharp stones tied to their end instead of the pointed sticks that had always been good enough for him and his father and his grandfather.

Nonsense. Tedd is getting a good night's sleep.
