I dunno. If it had been Eva Braun just a handful of years or so later, it would be a cause for world wide celebration. Indeed. When radio broadcasters named Harold Camping predict that the world will end on May 22, 2011, one should not pay too much attention to them. I know I didn't.
-
Absolutely, and I should have stressed that. Originally I had some damfool D&D notion about elves resisting sleep spells in mind but dismissed it when I found the page in question. I just didn't bother to alter my phrasing.
-
Certain creatures might be immune to sleep spells. We already know that Abraham was entirely unconvinced of his ability to put Mr. Raven to sleep. This might include dragons. As to golems, well, lacking brains and the chemical processes that make sleep a necessity to begin with, I doubt sleep spells would affect them very much. About as long as it will take him to check out the hidden cameras they will unquestionably have in a place like that. He may have seemed hair trigger but this had morphed from routine to major emergency; taking out everybody in sight by putting them to sleep and sorting them out later was actually by far not his worst possible move. Well, I suspect that is his purpose in existence. Let the poor thing have his day.

Maybe it is all the added muscles. She looks like she has muscles on her muscles. Maybe her feet are so muscular that it added an inch of thicknes to her soles.
-
Okay. I will grant that much. But next time... let's do this argument in private where we don't bother the rest of the forum with it. I will accept responsibility for that. It's the place where we both belong, apparently.
-
Oh yes, I could really tell. That is why you placed it all the way at the head of your construction and had 'Magus do something he would regret' stand completely unqualified. And the 'maybe' then placed in front of ANOTHER construction in which Magus once again automatically takes Ellen out of play. If this was your way of 'moderating' your statements, guess what. It didn't work. Yes, it is based on the assumption that your fantasies are superior to everybody else's. There was a reason I used the word 'playpen.' Your arguments belong there.
-
And I still refuse to submit to yours. You responded to my statement that I could perfectly understand why Ellen would want to hit Magus with a playpen-esque claim of "BUT MAGUS FLATTEN ELLEN WITHOUT TROUBLE NAAA NAAA MY DADDY CAN BEAT YOURS". If you don't like me giving you shit back, DON'T GIVE ME SHIT TO START WITH.

Arthur is a wizard of high age. We already know that you get stronger with magic the more you use it. Are you seriously insisting that Magus after his junior high school magic classes is the equal of a wizard who may have half a century of experience behind him? You have got to be joking. You really must think he is a demigod if you think he can be that good after so short a time...

He is definitely Snoke. He has all these involved plans and they keep going exactly wrong. Palpatine's plans worked. At least until that goldarn Jedi returned.

May 18, 1993: In Copenhagen, Denmark a large group of demonstrators assemble to protest the legality of a recent plebiscite about Danish membership status in the European Union. For the first time since World War 2, police officers discharge firearms against assembled protesters. 113 pistol shots are fired and a total of 11 injured protesters require hospital treatment. Subsequently, a commission is established to investigate why Danish police officers are such awful shots.

My own impression is this: that Ellen is still tremendously conflicted about her own creation because it was such a traumatic experience. She feels irrationally angry about it, which I fully understand. She had very conflicting feelings even about Tedd whom she until recently -- to be exact, this page -- held responsible for her creation because of his careless use of the TG gun and for his part in getting Elliot to the diamond. Now she has learned that Magus used Tedd, Elliot and her creation simply as tools to set himself free from his prison dimension. Acts born from desperation, yes -- but even understanding that, Ellen would still be furious, knowing as she now does that the sole reason for her existence is that she was intended as a one-shot zap device to give Magus the means of possessing Elliot. Granted, she has found meaning of her own since, but I really doubt that will calm her very much. In short, she badly wants to give Magus a piece of her mind, and I do not really blame her.

I may try later with a different e-mail address. We'll see.

I want to declare how brilliant TVTropes are. I attempt to register myself. First it doesn't like my username and asks me to fix it. Done. Then it says the Captcha text didn't match. The 'text' being clicking "I am not a robot." I try to reset, and it tells me the e-mail I am registering under is already in use. Desperately I try to ask for a new password. It tells me that it does not recognise my e-mail. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHH. Rot in Hell, TVTropes.
-
It's all moot. Those who see Magus as an unbeatable demigod will merely invent reasons why Ellen will be automatically flattened anyway. If they are that much in love with their own headcanon, they can keep it. I personally just don't believe it.
-
Yeah, no. The 'Calm' spell worked fine on Ashley who was panicking and had minimal magic resistance. Ellen? Just absorbed a massive amount of magical energy, and already had a lot more of it than Ashley to begin with. Her magical resistance would be through the roof and unlike Elliot she has a ranged attack. Not seeing it your way.

Snoke was a Palpatine wannabe. Palpatine was the real thing. In fact, I think Snoke wanted just as badly to be Palpatine as Kylo Ren wants to be Vader.
-
I don't see why not. It's what I would do in her place.

Either way they have now been a dangling plot thread for almost a decade and a half. I am not saying that they have harmed the storyline any, merely that they have been an irritation for a long time. Which means they got introduced too soon.
-
As far as I am concerned, he is Dark Helmet. He doesn't deserve to be Colonel Sandurz anymore.
-
Mind you, the sauce was not only from goose but also from gander. It had apparently been intended to ensure that the stock was souped up.
-
As has been pointed out, Mr. Tensaided is a stickler for rules, but when he read Larry the Riot Act way back in the card game storyline, he wasn't just reciting the rules by rote. He clearly understood why they were there, agreed with their purpose -- and, frankly, him being what he is, it would not in the slightest astound me if he had been part of writing those rules. In short, he is that all too rare gamer who respects women and wants to see them enjoy themselves in gaming, and not just because it means more girls to hit on, either. I think Susan could come to tolerate and sooner or later even respect a man like that even before she became part of the main eight.
-
It also explains the meteoric drop of their stock.
-
So you did. My apologies. I jumped the gun due to irritation and stress, neither of which you could conceivably either help or be blamed for, and I am sorry about that. I think it has been ongoing since the start of the series and is the main cause of all these expository lumps that Dan is so prone to, in and out of story. *sigh* Nioi and Lord Tedd are both good examples. Dan himself has stated that he jumped the gun with Lord Tedd. I feel that Nioi (as well as the entire 'Second Life' plot thread) could be edited out of Painted Black without harming the storyline in any way.

This was an alarm from a government facility indicating that thieves with far too much knowledge had successfully removed at least one object from government possession. The other was a phone call from an unknown girl calling in a concerning but as yet unconfirmed report about the potential presence of a magical criminal. Also, you are assuming. You are assuming that DGB can open portals to anywhere at the drop of a hat without locking in coordinates. It might well be that the doors at this facility are actually preset, established in advance and needing only activation to operate. It could even be that before you can use this kind of portal, you must first have had operatives on-site to ready the area for portal reception.

Hardly empty. A place like that would sport a 24-hour guard detail always ready to respond. Also, I highly doubt such a place would exist solely for the benefit of a decoy storehouse. It would more likely be linked to several similar value sites and so economise with the involved forces.
