  1. Story Monday November 22, 2021

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/balance-086 Well, that's gonna take some of the bang out of this thread . . . . . If someone has hurt or violated the rights of another person, then the powers that be are justified in punishing the first person. At least they would want to keep tabs on that person and limit their rights But what if that person has the ability to hurt or violate the rights of another, but has not yet done so? What if that person does not yet have that ability but could develop that ability?
  2. Things That Are Just Annoying

November 22, 1995 -Twenty Six years ago today - Disney releases Toy Story Any child who saw that film in the initial release is now old enough to rent cars and get elected to the US House of Representatives The things that can make you feel old keep getting younger

Presumably, the testing wand Edward and Noriko used repeatedly on infant Tedd was the best available, and infant Tedd was able to block the readings just because the noise it made upset him. Why do I suspect that the testing equipment teams use (especially high school and minor league teams) won't be as sophisticated as that which is available to a top FBI agent, a world class monster hunter, and an Elf?

Just like the bans on other performance enhancing stuff have been so well enforced by MLB and sports in general
  5. Things That Are Just Annoying

He wasn't into steampunk or goth, and the propane dealership wasn't that good
  6. NP Saturday, November 20, 2021

Maybe she could be a Pittsburgh Pirate and be content with stealing bases?
  7. NP Saturday, November 20, 2021

Disney had some of the best animated Pirates ever in 1953's Peter Pan and some classic live action Pirates in 1950's Treasure Island Apparently the intellectual property guardians who so fiercely defend Disney against any perceived outside threat can not do anything to save themselves from within

Now we're gate keeping who is a "Real" pirate? Personally, I think Grace would make an excellent addition to the crew of The Pirates of Penzance If she has the vocal range for a Wagnerian Bass-Baritone, she might be perfect as the Pirate King
  9. Things That Are Just Annoying

My uncle built his house back in the 60s Almost everything in the place was propane powered, including the refrigerator I have no idea how many pilot lights were constantly burning in there for well over a decade
  10. NP Saturday, November 20, 2021

When Pandora returns to the mortal plane, she will be different than than she has appeared before. Maybe that counts as a new person? Stretching? Not as much as my first thought that this was Noriko. - - - - - . . . And I still want to see Pirate Grace with her cannon in a regular story comic
  11. Comic for Friday, Nov 19, 2021

If you are doing bad things for selfish purposes, it is clearly your own crime or sin If you are doing bad things because someone you respect tells you it is necessary for a greater good, it is . . .

https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/forreals-15 Now Susan has a list, and EVERYONE is on it? I suppose it makes a certain kind of sense to simply say everyone is in the "No" category unless and until I personally put them on the "Maybe" or "Yes" lists
  13. NP Thursday November 18, 2021

https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/forreals-17 I'm guessing Susan gave up reading the comments shortly after the "Ronin" incident Elliot likely checks the comments about as often as he checks his spell book
  14. NP Thursday November 18, 2021

And I need to know What is that thing Susan & Elliot are eating? My first thought was chocolate chip cookie dough squeezed up straight from the tube, but that seems unlikely
  15. Story Wednesday November 17, 2021

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/balance-084 I suspect that Arthur learned the ideals of Freedom working as an apprentice in Ben Franklin's print shop Right up until the day he told his boss to "go fly a kite"
  16. Story Wednesday November 17, 2021

Arthur believes in the American ideal so much he works for the American Government to pursue peace and justice Unfortunately, the details of what the American government demands in the name of "Peace and Justice" are often far from the American ideals So Arthur had a choice, quit the job and be unable to anything or stay and do things he finds objectionable in the hope of a better outcome in the long run
  17. NP Tuesday November 16, 2021

https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/forreals-16 The sixteenth comic of a story released on the sixteenth of the month? That's got to be worth a cookie or two . . . - - - A thoughtful exploration of a topic that withholds judgement and accepts anyone who claims to be in a group as a member of that group? This is highly objectionable!
  18. The Saga of the New Music Computer

Lots of boxes, books & shelves Explorer might enjoy it
  19. NP Saturday November, 13, 2021

Again? What was the first time?
  20. What Are You Ingesting?

“He (Arthur Dent) almost danced to the fridge, found the three least hairy things in it, put them on a plate and watched them intently for two minutes. Since they made no attempt to move within that time he called them breakfast and ate them. Between them they killed a virulent space disease he'd picked up without knowing it in the Flargathon Gas Swamps a few days earlier, which otherwise would have killed off half the population of the Western Hemisphere, blinded the other half, and driven everyone else psychotic and sterile, so the Earth was lucky there.” ― Douglas Adams, So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You may never know just how important.
  21. Story: Monday, November 15th

It is wrong to change your appearance to defraud or to avoid arrest and imprisonment. The mundane parts of the FBI and other law enforcement agencies investigate that. It is wrong to change your appearance into that of a monster to kill or destroy property or manipulate others. We have seen this agency respond to that. But if you are not committing some other crime, simply changing your appearance is not a violation of any applicable federal law over which Arthur's agency has jurisdiction And investigating, monitoring, pursuing or detaining people doing things you may not like or understand, but which are not specifically felonies, generally constitutes a waste of limited agency resources and opens up everyone involved to potential prosecution and litigation. So Arthur's politics, at a minimum, is "I believe strongly in not getting sued, arrested, investigated or giving any bureaucrat an excuse to cut my government pension" This is a political position I comprehend quite well
  22. The Saga of the New Music Computer

And when food is used as a metaphor for good news, it is never British cuisine
  23. NP Tuesday November 09, 2021

https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/forreals-13 My reality is relative and subjective What ever I think is right is right and there is no need for discussion and debate If you do not agree with me completely, you are wrong
  24. NP Tuesday November 02, 2021

https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/forreals-10 Careful Elliot, You're likely to get hit with a couch if you upset your Girlfriend on This show - - - But I can already see nitpics the "Real Fans" of this show will be pointing out First, fan has more than one printed definition Second, different dictionary publishers have different sets of deffinitions Also, when was this dead tree dictionary published? Even the newest printed edition will be a little out of date. If this is the same Dictionary your mother was using in high school, we really can't be sure of anything. Remember, English Language Dictionaries are descriptive, not prescriptive. They do not declare what the correct spelling, pronunciation, and definition of a word must be Rather, they attempt to distill from the broadest possible scope of all English Language users what those things currently are
  25. Cats, Dogs, Other pets.

Are you sure? The LOLCat linguistic community seems to have grown quiet since a religious movement began to dominate the conversation
