Welcome! 03/05/2016
Welcome, everyone, to the new 910CMX Community Forums. I'm still working on getting them running, so things may change. If you're a 910 Comic creator and need your forum recreated, let me know and I'll get on it right away. I'll do my best to make this new place as fun as the last one!

http://TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Hmmm... Where have we seen that design before...? I wanted to address that Mags is plus-sized, but not make her into a fat joke or a stereotype. I do know that the fashion industry tends to ignore larger body types, and good-looking clothes are hard to come by in larger sizes. But if anyone could find them, it's Rose. I put that dialogue in the first panel to make it clear that Rose is aware of her own body size privileges, and took her friend's needs into consideration when choosing a store to try. That final panel was a LOT of fun to draw. I used to draw hands a lot back in high school art class, and I've honestly forgotten how much fun they can be to draw. It was also fun "reverse engineering" Enticia's Heartbreaker emblem into a bunch of other designs! I think that my favorite design out of all the rejects is the heart with the lightning-bolt-shaped crack. Or is that too "Harry Potter"?

TheHeroesOfCRASH.com An unfinished sketch of Titanium Maiden in a construction worker outfit? What could this mean...? Feel free to share your theories; I won't be confirming or denying anything. At least, for now...! ;-)

TheHeroesOfCRASH.com [Insert holiday greeting/well-wishing] What can I say? The holidays are hectic, and even this filler took time to draw. In all honesty, I'm not doing any resolutions. Resolving to do a thing kinda jinxes it, it seems, so I'll probably be more successful if I don't resolve to succeed. #webcomic #webcomics #comic #comics #superhero #superheroes#superheroine #superheroines #NewYears #hashtag #morehashtags#allthehashtags

Filler 7/21/18 - "Did- did one of them just... MOVE?"
heroesofcrash posted a topic in Heroes Of Crash
TheHeroesOfCRASH.com A filler featuring a Chris Van Allsburg-inspired project I'm working on. I think that the note on the side says most of what I have to say, but there's still room for some details. :-) A fellow artist suggested I self-publish my own 'zine of sorts, featuring comics and drawings outside of The Heroes Of C.R.A.S.H. Although I am working on a printed HoC comic, as well, this 'zine would be a bit cheaper, xeroxed and stapled by me, whereas the HoC comic collection I want to print will likely use a print-on-demand service. This 'zine would give me a chance to showcase some of my work outside my usual comic, and show off my range. Besides which, it's a nice brain stretch. I don't want to get too deep into my intentions with the art, because I want to leave some degree of ambiguity with the illustration. I will say that I wanted to draw a character that was less toony than my usual characters, but not entirely realistic either. I tried to channel a little Danielle Corsetto into this character (particularly with the shape of the chin), but somehow, I think I accidently channeled some Jeph Jacques instead - whose style, thankfully, is just as awesome. You can see both those artists' webcomics through my Links page! If you read the note on the side, you know that I've left an art prompt and a writing prompt for my fellow creatives: Either draw a different cartoon with the same caption, or draw a story to go with my drawing, using the caption as the first or last line. If you try out either prompt (or both!), please let me know! -
TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Not much to say that I haven't said in today's filler. Keep following me on social media to stay posted with everything that's going on with me and with the comic; if I'm ever unable to post to the site, I'll let you know what's going on through Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook. Speaking of the interwebs, if you haven't done so already, please contact your representatives as well as the FCC and tell them to keep Title II and Net Neutrality. Otherwise, my webcomic, every webcomic, and just about anything that people create on the 'net could be in danger. Do your part to protect freedom of speech!

theheroesofcrash.com Hoo boy... Dexter's not terribly optimistic about 2017. Personally, although I think it would be naive to assume that any problems we had in 2016 will go away by themselves come January first, I'm a bit more hopeful that we as a people can turn things around by getting active and trying to make this world better. While 2016 has had its share of terrible events - from celebrity deaths, to a zoo tragedy becoming a ridiculous meme, to a racist tangerine being elected to the most powerful office in the world - I'm at least glad that I was able to make my own year a little better with my Daily Drawings. It was fun, it got my art a lot of attention, it got me to experiment with my art, and it's the first New Year's resolution I actually kept. That being said - although I may do a few bonus drawings that I owe after New Year's - I do not plan to continue the Daily Drawings into 2017. Instead, I'm going to take some time to focus on improving my writing. As a webcomic creator, art is but half of the equation. I want better dialogue, deeper characters, and more engaging storylines, so I want to get better at writing so that The Heroes of C.R.A.S.H. can continue to improve. I also have a few ideas for other books and projects I'd like to flesh out further, but I'm keeping them under my hat... for now...! Wishing you all a happy 2017! And if it's not turning out happy, I wish you the best of luck in going out there and MAKING it happy!
