Magic change dysfunction leads to mayhem with fairy doll spell. This could be canon, nothing seems to contradict what we know so far. I guess we'll see if difficulties with fairy doll spell becomes a thing in the main comic.

The being partially disrobed in the process seems especially inconvenient.

The fairy doll spell always needed more thought than a "normal" spell.  Had to have a person in mind and they had to be in a place where the caster had been before.  Aside from trivial things like what the doll is wearing, I'm not sure how it could go this bad.

This really not even the same spell. This is a transformation, the other was more like the 'Fox' spell.

Interesting though, that Nanase's fairy doll took full concentration, with the caster loosing local consciousness, but Susan's behave more like Fox, independent of Susan. So, also two different spells.

Nanase’s fairy doll spell is explicitly an Avatar spell, meant to be “inhabited” and controlled from a first-person perspective to enable telepresence. Fox, or Susan’s fairies, are semi-autonomous summons, able to be programmed with instructions or commanded by the caster.

Probably noteworthy that Nanase's fairy doll spell created a new fairy doll when she cast it many times, other times, she reinhabited an existing fairy doll. They were not unsummoned when the spell expired. Susan's were.

Laundry products advise testing it on the fabric in an inconspicous location.

After any sort of magic change, one should also test spells in an inconspicous location.

Good advice! Love the source of the advice :P.

"Four out of five doctors recommend testing spells in an inconspicuous location after a change in magic."

"You got your change in my magic!" "You got your magic in my change!" "Let's go to an inconspicuous location and test this!"

"On a vacation? Have spells you need to test after a change in magic? Let Marriott provide you with an inconspicuous location."

Mlooney, do we need an inconspicuous location to test One D&D?

Yeah, that might not be a bad idea.  The spell changes, while not effecting the majority of spells, are significant enough that they resemble the Not Change.
