Seriously, why does the presence of Susan cause so much consternation at the comic shop?

Susan?

She's been to salty crackers a lot.

It was an encounter at the shop with Rich & Larry that alerted Susan to the loss of the hammers.

She may not be a tournament regular, but she is no stranger.

Also, Susan is a multiple grand descendant of Adrian Raven, her father is the cheater.  Adrian is Diane's bio-dad.

Given what we know, the majority of the tournament players are probably viewers of Susan and Elliot’s review show, so it’s like seeing a favorite television actress show up. Tensaided has also been praising her to this crowd, as seen in https://www.egscomics.com/comic/2014-09-05

I was trying to make sense of this, that is a reasonable hypothesis.
