Edward confirms that Hope is in her pocket universe, entrance attached to his house, and that he can see the entrance.

He does not yet recognize her as the reboot of Pandora. He should know she's an immortal, and that 'young immortal' means rebooted, so he should not think of her as actually young. Although, that is possible; we don't know that immortals can't have immortal babies. After all, they came from somewhere. OK, scratch that, as far as we've seen, new immortals are reboots, but we don't know if that's the majority (my guess is it is) and Edward would be likely to know as much as anyone would.

He likely received the spell when he was “apprenticed” under Adrian.

We know that he had it during his “discussion” with the director about Tedd and the TF gun.  Obviously, he got it for a science fair project in High School, while studding under Adrian Raven.
