Hope has some interesting bits of knowledge about 21st-century America. For example, she knows about TV, but not what they look like. And of course her seminly complete knowledge about transformation guns.

Are we getting some actual definition regarding the borders between magic and alien tech?

That border is very fuzzy, given that Tedd was able to take TFG effects and make a wandable spell out of them.

Side note. Lavender, at least in this page, is the first female form that looks like they need to wear a bra. She's got that “I'm an adult woman with large breasts” droop to her.

Bearing in mind they are part of her transformation, and they can be whatever she wants them to be. Uniboob? Sure, why not? A triple set? Sure!

We need to get more creative with our actual prosthetics. Lighting up, embedded speakers, motion actuators, . . . Where's the creativity, guys and gals?

The number of women that need full replacements that could use the tech bits is a lot lower than the number of women who just have implants under fleshy bits.  Just saying. A light bright enough to be seen through inches of human flesh would get really hot, which would be less than ideal.

I agree, you would have to use a low power array of sources near the surface, some biological variant of laptop displays. Maybe we could reverse engineer octopus color cells.

There is a GMO food joke in there someplace, but I'm too tired to go looking for it.

Well, television sets before the switch to digital broadcasting were those square, boxy Cathode Ray Tubes, as opposed to the flat panel widescreen type seen today. Hope’s memory of TV from Pandora may have been primarily of the older style.

And yes, the distinction between TV sets and monitors is mainly a matter of what they are used to display, rather than how they are constructed—many TV sets can be used as decent-quality monitors.

Modern ones generally have a monitor input or two or three; back in the day this was generally not true. Many early 8 bit machines included an rf adapter to allow the monitor signal to feed a TV, generally allowing a selection between two low end channels.

If Pandora didn't pass on cars, I'm a bit curious why she passed on anything about TV sets in general.

I seem to recall that the PS3 and XBox360 were the first generation to forego the red-yellow-white RCA connector cables in NTSC regions, but they were already designed with the anticipation of the digital broadcasting switchover impending within their lifespan.

From what we know of Pandora, she may have wanted to pass on something that required knowledge of some pop culture reference from a TV program.

She was chronically bored. It is possible she was addicted to human TV.

That would explain her being chronically bored.

Well, generic Immortal did say

Quote

"At a minimum, we're able to call meetings and discuss things with any other immortals willing to show up."

"You do this to discuss important issues?"

"Well, we can, but it's mostly a reacting to big TV shows thing."

So, yeah it's possible.
