Why couldn't Hope just disguise both herself and the Prince?

Hope's wings do not look like they can support her. They appear to be diaphanous insect wings, which are too thin to support much weight.

Also, in the final panel, she appears to be hovering beyond the railing, but her wings do not appear to be moving. Actually, they have not moved in any comic. She carries them spread, critters with similar wings usually fold them when they are not flying.

Perhaps she flies by magic, the wings are just for close up steering?

Obviously, she's a dragonfly.

Obliviously.

The only flying thing that I can think of whose “wings at rest” position is out flat.

Yes, that seems right.

Moths, sort of. The wings do swing in, but don't actually fold, and they lay roughly like this: — —

(It's one of the defining differences between them and butterflies; the latter's usual resting wing position is more like || or an inverted and very narrow V - although occasionally they emulate moths.)

However, moth wings don't look much like dragonfly wings. Or Hope's wings.

Most depictions of fairy wings are either dragonfly wings, or butterfly wings held flat.

And now I'm thinking about those wings, and doorways...

Turning sideways is an option.  Or fluttering them back just for going through the door.  Either way, noted for game use.

Moths are more like old-school navy airplanes, where the wings fold in over the body, with the hinge being closer to the body than a plane.

Re: game use, fire breathing dragonflies. Almost no damage (too small), but annoying around spell books, clothing, and bedding.

Hmm.  Use the swarm rules so that they can be a danger.  May look into that.

It the party goes into the swamp, which has about a 50/50 chance right now, I think several swarms of “dragon” flies are going to get them.  And some giant frogs.
