I'm pretty sure she can do that in canon if Pandora was right about her being S-Rank.
  2. Story Friday September 15, 2017

    4. Jerry 2.0 sounds like he's cursing himself for dropping the bottle, not sure why he'd have a bottle a soda to begin with though but if he's on edge about keeping Susan safe he could have been startled enough by something to drop it. What's interesting to think about, is if Dan didn't reveal Jerry 2.0 here, we'd probably have assumed that the soda spill and out of thin air warning might have been another Immortal or someone with the intent of splitting Elliot and Susan up in much the same way someone kept Justin and Noah from talking in school. 5. Hanma dropped the soda and Jerry 2.0 is calling her clumsy while she's off panel. Yeah this is a wild one but we know she exists in canon and while her interaction with Jerry 2.0 was non canon, I'd wonder if she would track him down like that in a canon setting.
  3. Story Friday September 15, 2017

Pandora's the only Immortal we've seen do the whole multi-headed scary monster routine. And Pandora recently learned that a previous self lied about something that greatly affects Adrian and that she had seen the evidence in front of her the whole time and never questioned it before. I can't believe that the lie would be anything else but that Elves couldn't have children. I maintain that Pandora had seen Susan and Diane many times before just because of who they're around a lot (Adrian likely taught Diane in a class or two and Susan hanging around Tedd) and there was something familiar about them to her but she ignored it because "nah, that's not possible". But after hearing about the fact that she lied to herself about Elves having children, she went to Susan's for proof because she would have remembered that familiarity she sensed in Susan, and then she found Jerry 2.0 and not knowing why he'd be there spying on possible family, she went Mama Bear mode to greet him.
  4. Story Friday September 15, 2017

Sounds like he's yelling at himself, maybe he was in physical form a moment earlier and dropped it on accident cus of nerves? Though is he expecting something to happen to Susan at school that he's put off checking on Diane, or was soda spillage it? Only Pandora could make Jerry 2.0 that anxious to make sure Susan stays safe.

Evil marketing to get more people to become patrons?

Patreon description for this strip: So both. And yeah, Rhoda's like "4th wall be damned, this is non-canon, I'm gonna have some fun!"
  7. Story, Wednesday September 13, 2017

I know, I was just thinking that Elliot's shapeshifting could have been used when everyone was all "she looks like you". Though it would be amusing if Susan used the height watch to make her 5'6" again before meeting Diane, Diane's expecting Susan to loom over her, but maybe that would be for another time.
  8. Story, Wednesday September 13, 2017

Reading the commentary again, I noticed that Dan might be mistaken that Susan has exhausted the number of people she can ask about Diane. I mean it's likely too late now, but she could have asked Grace, I don't think Grace would have said anything that Justin held back on, but she could have mentioned how Diane's been protective of Rhoda, and maybe Grace has other insights that would help Susan. I kinda feel like there'd be a missed opportunity if Grace or Ellen didn't tell Susan about the first time they met Diane and thought she was the product of Susan touching the dewitchery diamond, Ellen did text Susan but nothing beyond that. Elliot could probably suggest that comparing Susan to Diane could be like comparing him and Ellen in terms of similar yet different. Susan's also in a unique position to maybe ask Elliot to morph into Diane so that she could see for herself if there's any resemblance before meeting her. I dunno if Susan has considered it, but her and Diane grew up in completely different environments so one should expect them to have different views on things like males for instance, Susan's gotten better over the past year and frankly, Diane's been trying to change as well.
  9. Story, Wednesday September 13, 2017

The conditions have to be just right for it to happen, like the possibility of not getting to geek out over Star Trek with someone. Elliot doesn't know it, but he was really close to seeing Susan with puppy dog eyes, but he went and stated a need to watch some TNG which Susan was more "excited puppy" about.
  10. Story Monday Sep 11 2017

Still, Diane's reaction is still one that I can see Susan doing. But like I said Diane does seem to have an easier time with physical contact, at least with certain people, while we don't know how her childhood was, it might be possible she didn't like being touched at all either and started working on that before Susan did. I dunno, without commentary for that page I'm only speculating that Dan was trying to play up the similarities between Diane and Susan after it was pointed out in comic earlier. Maybe, maybe not, she might have used the promise of kissing and such to get guys to buy things for her, but it's possible she always found some way out of it. Though it is also possible she might have been more physical as part of the act if a particular guy could be milked (pardon the analogy and it should be noted that she was with Derek for at least 2 months as we saw her with him on the week of Halloween, and then again on the week of Christmas) for a while, not saying she'd have done anything sexual, but cuddling and kissing and petting might have occurred, after which she might have had a cold shower. That would have been incentive enough to go after Elliot at first, no pressure from him for physical romance and she'd be able to get him to do anything she wanted. Thing to keep in mind is Diane never had or wanted any emotional connection with the guys she strung along, any physical contact was a means to an end, and as I said, she saw Elliot on the review show and started thinking differently.
  11. Story Friday September 8, 2017

I had figured that way of thinking was due to them being a bunch of ossified hidebound imaginationless has-beens, since it eventually lead to the demise of the council.
  12. Things You Only Noticed On Reread

It's also possible that Terra and Magus are from a universe where the WoM isn't a jerkface that changes the system from time to time. So Seers might not be a thing either, or if they are, they don't serve the same purpose. And it's possible Terra didn't get the right mix of ancestry.
  13. Story Friday September 8, 2017

Yeah, that seemed to be more a situation of fear as an external driving force to the dark side, rather than an internal force. Also how many self fulfilling prophecies turn out, being told that something will happen, but not how it will happen, leading to the attempts to prevent it actually being the cause.
  14. Story Monday Sep 11 2017

You also forgot Susan shaking Tedd's hand in Sister II, and Susan shaking Tensaided's hand in There be Whales Here. I don't really consider shaking hands or hand on shoulder as counting for the physical contact that Susan (and presumably Diane) doesn't like in terms of Susan using hand sanitizer after shaking Tensaided's hand, Diane at least shares that quirk as well. Diane might be a bit more accepting of physical contact with people she really cares about (Rhoda, Rhea), but I don't think any of her dates ever got physical I'm not even sure if she's kissed any of the boys she's strung along. Elliot might have been the first guy she considered getting physical with, after watching the review show that is, it did seem like she was going to string him along with no pressure of needing to get physical when she initially found out about him.
  15. Story Friday September 8, 2017

Yeah, but he doesn't know what his second purpose is so (and neither do we still) so who knows what Tedd might do in the heat of the moment that's favorable to Voltaire's "plan A". Wasn't Anakin warned about the dark side?
  16. Story Monday Sep 11 2017

Elliot was able to catch a plot hole. I wouldn't put it past Diane to catch inconsistencies and whatnot. Though if Diane has paid attention to the review shows, she should have some idea what Trek is.
  17. Story Friday September 8, 2017

There's still plenty of things that could happen to set Tedd towards the dark side again, like a bad confrontation with Edward or something.
  18. Story Monday Sep 11 2017

She's aware of a Xena RPG. I would imagine she knows about D&D and such. As far as TV/movies go, we know she didn't like Princess Bride, don't know Diane's opinion of it though. It would be interesting to see how Diane reacts after a Trek marathon. Would she like it? Would she hate it? Would she have the same opinion Susan has about it including all the nitpicks? Susan wouldn't expect Diane to like the things she likes so even if Diane ended up not being interested, as long as Diane didn't say it sucked or anything like that, Susan probably wouldn't hold it against her.
  19. Story Monday Sep 11 2017

Marathon time, perhaps? Diane has on occasion made attempts to hide the fact that she's interested in geeky stuff, but would she put up that facade in front of Susan?
  20. Story Monday Sep 11 2017

Might be. Definitely looks similar. Maybe, I dunno, while it wouldn't be the first time Immortals posed as students to keep an eye on members of the cast, it was somewhat more obvious to us who they were. Seems at this time there's more evidence that the mysterious wallflower might be related to Duck. You did? I am disappointed in you. I did not merely dislike him. I loathed him. So much. There were a few good Jake Sisko stories and one outstandingly brilliant one, but every single episode where Jake tried to be a reporter made me gag whenever he appeared on the screen. While Jake could have been done better, he certainly could have been done worse.:cough:wesleycrusher:cough: Justin could have told Susan all about how Diane treated him and her behaviour in school, but he didn't want to taint their meeting. He's Susan's friend so of course he doesn't have any desire to sabotage the meeting. I'm also really hoping that Diane has realized at some point how she treated Justin and apologizes to him.
  21. NP Monday Sep 11 2017

Even though Grace never actually said Rhoda's name, Justin, Nanase, Ellen, and Tedd know that Grace and Rhoda have become friends and had been spending some time together either with tutoring or just hanging out at school. Exactly how Elliot knows, I don't think was ever explained(Dan mentioned possibly explaining it in a future comic), I assume he saw the news report on the boar and saw Catalina and Rhoda together there, though the fact that he knew Catalina had a girlfriend would mean that he was told at some point by someone (maybe Susan? or maybe Catalina, as it didn't seem to be a secret that she was gay) and then put 2 and 2 together there.
  22. Story Friday September 8, 2017

Well, Voltaire did call his plan a complicated mess, it certainly sounds likely to live up to it's name.
  23. NP Monday Sep 11 2017

Am I mistaken to think that Susan's admission that she wished she could be more attracted to Catalina means that she is attracted to her. I kinda wonder if it's likely her anxiety over physical contact that might be preventing Susan from acting on her attractions.
  24. Story Friday September 8, 2017

The vampires could have been told to lure Adrian into a dark alley to kill him and no one would notice until the body was found (if there was anything left of him), or Noah says something, though Noah would likely go to one of the main eight first who would then probably tell Edward. So the commotion is certainly important for drawing out Helena and Demetrius, maybe Sirleck figures that by attacking whom he believes is the son of one of them, they'd be more inclined to get involved directly rather than try to find someone to guide into fighting vampires. I think he'd be partially right in that regard, an Immortal would be inclined to get involved directly, just not the Immortal he thinks it'd be.
  25. Story Friday September 8, 2017

Even though Diane and Adrian didn't see eye to eye at school, I really doubt she'd enjoy the idea of him being attacked by vampires. Thing is, if the main cast is spread out, then there's not much of a chance of anyone getting to Adrian's aid in time, because they wouldn't likely hear that crap hit the fan until the news report, they can't all be clumped together either but at least one of them should be nearby. Considering Diane was insistent on waiting till Friday to meet Susan and that it should be done at the mall, I see that as foreshadowing that they will be at ground zero when crap hits the fan. Susan doesn't have that original kit anymore, she had to make her own, and the closest thing to a mace in that kit is a baseball bat. Actually, she does have a crowbar, that probably the most powerful weapon she has.
