Considering it was a month after meeting Rhoda that Catalina failed to hide the fact that she was dating someone to Susan, and thus 7 months prior to the current story (and nearly 5 months prior to the NP) I'm pretty certain Rhoda would have had to decline invitations to do stuff with Diane that early as well, and at some point, if not right away, would have mentioned Catalina by name and mentioned how they met, Rhoda would still have hid the fact that they were dating, but at least saying something like "Sorry, I'm going to be watching that new movie with Catalina Saturday" isn't as suspicious as "Sorry, I uh...have other...things, to do." There is also the fact that Rhoda and Catalina were on the news together, if Diane saw that, Rhoda would have to at least acknowledge it at some point, and she could still do that without saying anything about the relationship, like "yeah after the interview, I was still pretty shaken up about the boar so we just talked for a while." I mean, it's not the first time 2 people from separate schools ran into each other and immediately become friends. Also they didn't have to spend ALL summer, of course there are likely occasions where Rhoda had other plans with family and such. But we do have canon proof that makeouts in the back of the movie theater happened in the summer. Just because they hadn't see each other naked yet by October doesn't mean they hardly saw each other, they could just be comfortable with kissing for now and haven't moved beyond that yet.
  2. http://www.egscomics.com/?id=2306 Obviously, don't drive while distracted. Not sure about the penalties in the US, but in Ontario: Huh, here's something, Sarah can get the driver's license plate number and report him. At least up here we can call 911 to report a careless driver.
  3. NP: Wednesday February 1, 2017

I did previously stated that I believed Diane had known about Catalina for a while before New Years and that there might have been several instances where Rhoda turned down going out with Diane and Lucy to "hang out" with Catalina. Diane and Lucy are at the mall as well, did Diane ask if Rhoda wanted to come along, offer to help pick up a guy for her? The decision to go to the mall could have been after Rhoda declined the invitation, I dunno. The point I'm trying to make is, before Death Sentence, Rhoda would have spent a lot of time around Lucy and Diane. After Death Sentence, it's likely Rhoda started spending less time with them and more time (at least for after school and weekends, and summer) with Catalina, and Diane's likely noticed this and deduced reasons for it.
  4. Story Friday February 3, 2017

There are some Youtubers that I watch that play GMod Prop Hunters and Trouble in Terrorist Town, and some of the maps they play aren't made very well and sometimes they'll open a door where there's nothing but white space on the other side and you risk falling out of the map if you go through. It's likely the same for Sarah's simulations, if she happens to step over the edge, the simulation with either immediately end, or she'll float or free fall in empty space until she ends it herself. If that were true, then Pandora's much closer to being able to view what Sarah does than she thinks.
  5. NP: Wednesday February 1, 2017

That much is evident when we see her reaction to Rhoda's messenger avatar. She totally didn't buy the "just buddies in a photo booth" excuse.
  6. NP: Wednesday February 1, 2017

How do we know that'd be her mother's reaction? My headcanon is that the entire Bobcat clan are party animals. Diane does know Catalina by name. When she learned of her being Rhoda's "friend" could have been anywhere between "Death Sentence" and "End of an Era", the fact that Dianed asked if Rhoda was ever going to introduce her suggests that she's known for a while. There must have been a few times where Diane's asked if Rhoda wanted to do anything and Rhoda declining saying that she was going to be hanging out with Catalina.
  7. Story Friday February 3, 2017

We never saw Abraham hitting the avatar's shoulder, so we can't really use that as proof. As I said from my experience being jolted awake has the same effect, nerves are firing, heart racing, certainly does feel like something hit you at first and you instinctively yell out and curl up to try to get yourself back together. Her actually feeling the damage her avatar takes has some undesirable implications, for instance, if it requires an avatars complete destruction, like getting chopped right in half, to force Nanase back, then how would she feel loosing a hand or foot? Arm or leg? Of course she could manually return to her body herself, but I can imagine the feeling of losing a body part would be very unsettling. I'd much rather it be a sudden shock that quickly passes, rather than the feeling of something being snapped or sliced or stabbed.
  8. Story Friday February 3, 2017

I wouldn't necessarily say she feels the damage itself, I'd compare it to being suddenly woken up from a dream. There have been times where I've been woken up by what felt someone flicking their finger against my spine, and my whole body felt like it had been jolted by an electric shock. It didn't hurt, but it was very unnerving, and Nanase's reactions to getting her consciousness forced back to her body look exactly how I felt.
  9. Story: Wednesday February 1, 2017

Correct - but she would be unable to detect the movement of her body or know when it left the range of the spell. So no help in learning the range. Tedd had stated, after seeing Sarah use the spell, that the spell only "very, very, briefly interacts with everything" in range. Also, the energy is used in the initial cast, which is when it scans the area and creates the simulation in Sarah's mind, no more energy is used while she's playing around. The only way she could have it so that if she moves beyond the range of the simulated area and have it expand the simulation, is if the spell is refreshed somehow and does another scan thus using more energy. I can see that maybe being possible as Sarah gets better skilled with the spell, that might even end up being something that she could do on reflex without breaking the simulation. Thing is though, it might be a bit jarring if she does that in a moving vehicle because even though she might spend 2-3 minutes in sim per 2-3 seconds realtime, a vehicle can still travel far enough that it'd be a very different scene in the simulation. Alternatively, if Sarah was sitting at her desk in class, she wouldn't be able to expand the simulation because her physical body is in a static position.
  10. Story Friday February 3, 2017

Nanase did have the advantage of a spellbook telling her nothing would happen to her if her avatar was destroyed. So she knew about it before the first time it happened, though not sure if her scream was from the experience of suddenly having her consciousness thrown back to her body, or from suddenly having Vlad in her face just prior to getting sent back.
  11. Things That Are Just Annoying

Now you can play Internet Spreadsheets...er... Spaceships!
  12. Story Friday February 3, 2017

I'd think the spell would just end and she'd snap back to reality, similarly to when Nanase's fairy avatars get destroyed.
  13. What Are You Ingesting?

Had spaghetti and cheese garlic bread.
  14. Political Discussion Thread (READ FIRST POST)

Yeah, it will take a while, but it can't just take the back burner either, I'm worried about the US getting itself stuck in constant turtle mode and unable to actually do anything to improve it's own conditions.
  15. Political Discussion Thread (READ FIRST POST)

I didn't say the US should do nothing, I'm just saying that banning people from specific countries is a knee jerk reaction to a global issue. This is what the focus should be, trying to change the conditions so they people don't feel they need to join extremist groups. People need to work together, not against each other. the problem is, too many people on both sides believe they're more superior.
  16. What are you reading right now?

I'm talking more about the fact that a character is in a position to be either dying or dead and some of the comments are "why didn't you draw her facing us so we could see her boobs!?!" I'm just not into that sort of thing.
  17. What are you reading right now?

Some of the comments for it bothered me more than the page itself...
  18. Story: Wednesday February 1, 2017

If traffic is slow enough, she could probably be able to use her spell and still be in range for the few seconds she takes realtime, or maybe the bus or vehicle she's in is at a stop light. Then again, Dan was pretty vague about what her range is.
  19. NP: Wednesday February 1, 2017

There must be more than one department store in that mall, so they could have gone from one end to the other, but also possible they ended up right back in the same dressing room. We know there are more than one dressing rooms in one store, in fact there are at least 4 in the one store, as we see 3 doors along one wall when Elliot and Ashley arrived, and then when we see Rhoda and Catalina exit their dressing room, there's a 4th at the end of what appears to be a hallway. The other side of the hall doesn't appear to mirror the side the dressing rooms the girls used, so it's unclear if there are other dressing rooms on that side, might just be a partition.
  20. Story: Wednesday February 1, 2017

Sorry, here's where Elliot said that. Not saying that Elliot and Sarah missed the bus as well, it's apparent that taking the bus is a choice, that the bus has specific pick-up and drop-off locations rather than going right to the student's homes. If Elliot and Sarah had taken the bus and Tedd wasn't at the pick-up, it wouldn't be a matter of "we think he missed the bus" they'd know he missed the bus. It's quite possible Tedd did take the bus and Elliot and Sarah didn't but because Tedd didn't meet up with Elliot and Sarah right away (likely because he was preparing himself to be a badass), they would have assumed he missed the bus. The is also the possibility that Tedd never took the same bus Elliot and Sarah did. It was never really clear aside from Tedd stating "we're stuck taking the bus tomorrow, aren't we?"
  21. Story: Wednesday February 1, 2017

Sarah might have been taking the bus with Tedd and Elliot in the mornings since at the time her and Elliot were dating, and the reason Susan usually drove her home might be because of the after school feminist club meetings, but Elliot's "we think he missed the bus" comment sounds like they didn't take the bus that morning. So if Ellen had the car, how did Elliot get to school?

There's also the belief that such a ban would fuel ISIS's propaganda machine. I recall discussing this back when other countries in Europe weren't allowing refugees in, or giving them poor treatment, because of fear that any one of them could be a terrorist, that when you have people who desperately need help being refused that help, it increase the chance of them turning to criminal acts and even joining the ones they were running from because "well I guess ISIS was right, these people don't deserve what they have". Even if Yates didn't have any legal grounds to do what she did, I don't see anything wrong with opposing something that you believe could potentially do more harm than goods, especially when the ban cherry picks specific countries while it's been proven that ISIS members aren't always from those countries, what's to stop people from England, Spain, even Canada who might have joined ISIS from entering the US and causing trouble? If Trump really wants to keep terrorists out, then he might as well lock the entire world out, and I know that wouldn't go over well with anyone.
  23. Story: Wednesday February 1, 2017

That's some supernatural mojo if Grace's lespuko DNA was calling out to her.
  24. Story: Wednesday February 1, 2017

Aside from Justin's parents, I think the only other parent we haven't seen in any way (this includes flashbacks) is Sarah's mother. That's just the the Main Eight. Well, I guess we technically have only seen two out of four parents for Grace. But it's unlikely we'll ever see the squirrel and Lespuko DNA donors.
  25. Story: Wednesday February 1, 2017

No, but it's illegal to do so, in the case if Sarah driving back to Tedd's in Sister, it would have been odd to let Sarah drive if she didn't have a license while Susan certainly did. Susan not knowing how to get to Tedd's house isn't an excuse when you have 3 passengers that could give directions. Considering Justin called his parents to ask permission to stay overnight at Susan's, there's no indication that he's not still living with his parents. I think any of the main characters moving out would be worth mentioning in comic, even more so if they were kicked out for whatever reason.
