  1. Story Monday January 9, 2017

Either that, or the Library is run by Noah Wyle and John Larroquette. Interestingly enough there's an upcoming episode titled "And the Wrath of Chaos".
  2. NP: Monday, January 9, 2017

Considering Kitty wasn't sure about a normal size catgirl or smaller catgirl in the previous comic, this might help make up her mind.
  3. NP: Monday, January 9, 2017

Ok, so Rhoda and Catalina have a head start on Kitty, can run faster, and will probably make it to a spot they think is safe to change back. Question is, will Kitty catch up as they're changing like Ashley did with Elliot, or will she get there just as Rhoda and Catalina are leaving after having already turned back to normal? I know Kitty was an out of the blue idea Dan had as he was writing this storyline, it would require some acknowledgement if Rhoda and Catalina ended up becoming friends with Kitty, which I guess we may find out when Sister III shifts to Monday and if Dan plans of having Catalina approach Elliot with questions about Saturday night.
  4. Fifteen Years of EGS

I'm pretty certain that's a favorite of many people here. "Exhibit D's" made me laugh pretty hard, though.
  5. Story Monday January 9, 2017

Voltaire was watching Tedd, Grace and Sarah, he would have heard them talking about what "box" told Sarah, and seen Tedd use his ability to see Sarah's spell in action. Also, considering Tedd is apparently the main focus of Voltaire (as Elliot's death was intended to traumatize Tedd) he would have been watching Tedd often and seen Tedd using the ability frequently, Voltaire can still try to take advantage of Tedd's abilities without knowing the exact nature of them. I'm saying, the place could either exist in the Immortal's realm, or some as yet undiscovered ancient library, or it could be somewhere that humans have discovered, but misinterpreted the symbols and writings. Heck maybe she knows the location of an unstranslated copy of the bible that is actually a historical record of magic events, the Will of Magic and someone with Tedd's abilities and we find out that Tedd is the next coming of Christ. That's a possibility, but that all depends on if he actually knows anything, or if it was all supplied by the spell that let him contact Grace. Outside the dreams, Disco Wizard doesn't know about Grace or what goes on in the dreams, he just knows that something is wrong and that he needs to use the spell, the stuff he mentioned about the different kind of wizard may just have been info supplied by the spell but it's uncertain whether that's true or not because of the fact that Disco Wizard does retain knowledge of what goes on when he's awake as shown by him mentioning the news report of Elliot and Tara at the mall.

Do any of them try to sell you car insurance?
  7. Story Monday January 9, 2017

Where ever she needs to go, it'll likely involve someone or something with more knowledge than mortals would have access to. Maybe there's some sort of repository that Immortals have that goes back several millenia? Or maybe it's in plain sight like hieroglyphs in the pyramids or cave paintings.
  8. Story Monday January 9, 2017

Ok so Pandora doesn't know what Tedd's rarity is about, she just knew what his abilities were, I would imagine "Seer" doesn't even scratch the surface here, so Voltaire likely doesn't realize what he's dealing with.
  9. More Speculation.

So....the Lord Tedd plotline is still very much up in the air at the moment, Dan's mentioned before that he might have introduced Lord Tedd too soon which suggests that he may not have fully fleshed out where he wanted to go with it, but we can't deny that Lord Tedd is tied to the story and I'm sure many of us hope to see more of it. One possibility I thought of, has to do with the fact that Beta Tedd warned that Lord Tedd was trying to kill all other Tedds, if that's still the case, there's one Tedd in particular that would be in danger, and that's the Tedd from Ellen's second life dreams. Ellen had speculated that the main reason Nioi chose her to share memories with Kaoli because of the possibility of either of them visiting the other's universe one day, well what if Nioi discovers that Lord Tedd sent one of those goo things after second life Tedd, I would imagine she'd want Kaoli and Ellen to go save him because they would know that world best and not stand out as much.
  10. Story Friday January 6, 2017

The main issue, if Magus wanted to hide his intentions for Elliot from anyone, if he succeeded in getting Ellen to zap him into Elliot's body, it'd probably be difficult to convince Ellen to not zap him back to normal. Then there is the matter of getting back to the diamond if it's still in the same location (if they moved it, then things will be even more difficult unless Magus found where it was moved to before hand). Of course, there is the possibility that Magus might be able to manipulate Elliot into morphing into another form first, thus he could just let Ellen zap Elliot back to male but then have Elliot morph again later if he's worried that just being in Elliot's head isn't enough for the diamond to separate them, and none of the others would suspect anything. Also we've yet to see what Elliot's spellbook has now that he's fully accepted his female morphs. Maybe he finally has male morphs that Magus could use, maybe even his own form is different enough from Elliot's that it would work to get his exact body back.
  11. Story Friday January 6, 2017

Magus ending up as another sister to Elliot is impossible really, the whole idea of Ellen being Elliot's sister is from the fact that she never existed before the diamond, sure there are alternates of Elliot that were named Ellen but that's in realities where Elliot was born female and we know of 2 where that's happened, Beta Tedd's reality and the reality where Ellen got her second life memories from. Ellen is a direct copy of Elliot with all his memories up until the diamond with the only difference being she's female. Magus on the other hand, was born in another reality, has his own memories of growing up there, and then was displaced to the prime reality for some reason. The plan for getting back is to get Ellen to zap Elliot with Magus in the path of the beam so that he can get pushed into Elliot's body, with the hope that he can take control long enough to touch the diamond again to get separated from Elliot. Yes, this will create a duplicate body of Elliot's but it won't duplicate Elliot's memories but instead it would transfer's Magus' consciousness into the new body. Also one thing to consider, is Magus probably doesn't need Elliot's body to remain female, it's possible that all the diamond needs to detect is 2 consciousnesses in one body to think that a curse is at play and separate them. Magus could easily just convince Ellen to zap Elliot back to normal again after he's taken control. After the separation, it's possible that Elliot might have been aware of Magus being in his head and know that "family" wouldn't apply to Magus like it does with Ellen, and I doubt Magus would allow that either.
  12. The Weather.

Snow squalls in the area, was supposed to work today but a coworker called and said another coworker told her it'd be crazy to attempt to drive in today and to pass it along to me that it isn't worth going in today. So I guess we'll see how it goes and probably go in tomorrow instead.
  13. Story Friday January 6, 2017

Yeah, anything that has the potential to benefit can also have the potential to harm. Anything can be weaponized.
  14. Story Wednesday January 4, 2017

The way the whale described it sounds more like the following: Whale 1: "There's so much energy around here, we're not going to be able to eat all of this!" Whale 2: "I know, and this is going to become a problem for the people in this city as well if this keeps up." Whale 3: "Hey I was just over in this part of the city and this teenager apparently sensed me, he's not like the other residents of the city so maybe he can figure out how to fix this?" Whale 1: "Worth a shot, you can be the one to make contact then, we'll keep eating."
  15. Story Wednesday January 4, 2017

The general idea was that the whale didn't actively try to get Tedd's attention at first, they just noticed that Tedd sensed their presence and then decided to try to make contact to warn him about the excess energy buildups.
  16. Political Discussion Thread (READ FIRST POST)

What gets me though, are that these laws seem to be focused on keeping Trans-females out of the female restrooms. What about Trans-males though? If you have Trans-males forced to continue to use female restrooms because their birth certificate says they're female, I would imagine there'd be complaints about that as well. Same goes for Trans-females forced to use the male restrooms, they're likely to be harrassed as well. The law seems to be built on the idea of privacy, implying that Trans people would attempt to take peeks at other restroom users. The problem with that is, it's more likely that non-trans people do that kind of stuff but maybe there was that one case (I don't know if there actually was one) that would validate claims despite the fact that is was just one case in like 5 or 10 years whereas there's probably 10 or more cases per year of non-trans people getting caught trying to peek or worse.

    Can we use Quatloos?
  18. NP Friday January 6, 2017

Whatever spell she gets, if she does get one, she's very likely to use it a lot, and then it'll be a matter of whether she's a D rank talent or S rank.
  19. NP Friday January 6, 2017

I think, with the way Kitty declared her uncertainty for whether she'd want a friend that's a cat girl, or to be a catgirl, and all the variables involved, there's a good chance the spell she would get would allow her to transform herself and others into various types of cat girls. She'd likely have the spell that emits the "shockwave of catness".
  20. NP Friday January 6, 2017

It's strictly to tick off Pandora, who will discover she can give Kitty a transformation spell, but will decline to do so. It's strictly to tick off Pandora, who will discover she can give Kitty a transformation spell, but will decline to do so. I'm not sure why. She did marked Catalina and it was clearly success. It's possible Pandora didn't encounter Kitty while doing her surveys, and she'll probably consider marking her as well if she does while following Rhoda and Catalina. I dunno what Kitty's last name would be, but for it to be a cat reference as well would be strange, so I don't see her having as strong a name based affinity as Catalina, but she certain has enough yearning for it to possibly make up for Pandora not being able to mark Ashley. Also, I think we'll be seeing Cat Girl Kitty suggestions in future pinup polls.
  21. Story Friday January 6, 2017

How difficult it can be for someone not born with innate talent, sure, I just don't see it ever being impossible for someone to get magic in any system. Magic is described as having a flair for the dramatic, restricting who is able to get magic reduces the chances for dramatic moments greatly, so making it possible for anyone to get magic gives some randomness which the Will of Magic wants to maintain and so a system change would be more like wiping the slate and starting over from scratch with everyone back on even footing except those who are born with the ability to see how that system changed and kickstart things.
  22. Story Wednesday January 4, 2017

The energy the whales give off would have to be very faint, but still enough for someone sensitive to it like Tedd to detect a disturbance, the whale could also have been pretty close as well, Pandora is standing right in front of him, Voltaire was hovering overhead earlier at Sarah's house, and also probably watched for several minutes listening to the conversation in Edward's basement before making his appearance to them. Plenty of opportunity for Tedd to sense something, but he didn't, so I doubt he is capable of detecting Immortals.
  23. Story Friday January 6, 2017

Yeah, Edward said there was already a black market for magic items, but it's "a small one that's relatively easy to manage and fueled more by fiction than actual dangerous magic", which I imagine is mainly used by those already in the know about magic and it's rare that some random person stumbles upon it. And yeah it would be truth, but I doubt anyone would believe the whole "We can't let everyone have their own magic because Magic itself will end up taking it all away from us" explaination. Disco Wizard compared the system change to being as if someone changed the operating system on everyone's computer, but it could also be compared to using a different programing language (how the spells work) and how it handles resources (magic energy), I don't think it'll ever be like "only people with red hair and green eyes can have magic" or "one in every 50000 people born in the world can have magic".
  24. Story Wednesday January 4, 2017

The reason why Tedd what able to sense the whale's presence to begin with was likely because the whale has some sort of detectable magic energy signature. Immortals give off no detectable magic signature.
  25. Story Friday January 6, 2017

Edward said that even with the stuff Tedd's doing, the watches, wanting to make wands with spells, etc, it would allow people to develop their own magic and get their own spells. Tedd could probably figure out a way to prevent a spell from tapping into a person's energy and only take from ambient energy or have what amounts to a mana-battery included with the catalyst that must be recharged after a couple uses, but then there's the issue of when someone goes to reverse engineer the devices, finds the locks, and accuses Tedd of attempting to keep people from realizing their full potential. It would create a bunch conspiracy theories that Tedd could be working with the military who would have full access while everyone else got nerfed products, or that there's some sort of elite group that has a monopoly on magic spells and is trying to profit on keeping people from getting their own spells for free. For the second guess. It's possible that Pandora's plan will fail, or maybe she decides to cancel the plan and just let it happen. As I said before, that doesn't really make up for the fact that Tedd wanted to give everyone magic, he still wouldn't be able to do that, so I don't see him jumping at the chance to figure out the new system, he'd likely question the point in even trying if there's the possibility of it changing again.
