The last great travel writer was, in my opinion, Richard Halliburton, who wrote in the 20's and 30's. I've read most of his books. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Halliburton

To be fair, the USSR's army was several times larger than Russia's army and most of the plans for invading West Germany assumed a nuclear battle field. -
"It's afternoon. Why don't you watch videos instead of bothering me while I nap?" - Explorer the Cat.

Two more hours a rain, assuming the forecast is correct. Feel like crap but don't feel like going to bed.

This is a knocked out T-62 in Ukraine. The T-62 is a 1960's era tank. If the Russians are using them, they are really scrapping the bottom of the barrel. -
Didn't he start as a journalist? It's a small jump from that to travel writer.

Yeah, being sued by your offspring is never a good thing.

I generally don't like Willis's comics, so I've avoided DoA on principle. Might look into sometime.

So, you want a light weight technical, but all you have is a militarized trike. No problem.
-
Just a few. Of course I needed to start a new page.

"I'm gonna stare up for a bit. Always confuses the The Human" - Explorer the Cat.

Being sued by your own creations for using their creations is a bit meta. Maybe post-post modern.

"So, you're up a bit early. Did you sleep well? I'm still plotting out what I'm going to do this morning." - Explorer the Cat.

Eve isn't really all that complex, but it's meta game aspects are famously weird. Having a player driven economy, a very complex crafting system, and all players on earth (other than the PRC) being on the same server leads to some weirdness. It's been called "spreadsheets in space" before and one of the latest things for it is an interface to Excel. A lot of game play things that would get you banned from other games (griefing, running scams, down right theft) are considered normal game play in Eve.

Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

No, acetaminophen is the only over the counter pain reliever I can take. The problem is that Midrin has been pulled from the market and can only be gotten via a compounding pharmacy, if that. The issue was that Midrin, as a combined drug, was never FDA approved. All the parts were, but not combined together. Then they got cranky about isometheptene mucate and more less banned it's use. https://www.fda.gov/drugs/unapproved-drugs/fda-notification-regarding-isometheptene-containing-drug-products -
It's been fairly mild for the last week or so, even if it did rain and is forecast to ran more starting Sunday.

It's too bad that due to musical licensing problems you can't watch WRKP with any degree of ease. A little googling and it seems you can watch it on Apple TV, but I'm not subscribing to Apple TV and paying per episode. Might look for a green parrot version some day.

"The scary thing out side has gone away. Back on the bed to take my nap" - Explorer the Cat.

The Germans had motorcycle battalions during WWII which acted as sorta a combination of mechanized infantry and recon troops.

She does like killing the Red Dot. Unless it's nap time, in which case she's likely to just swat at it and not go full chase and destroy on it.

Never thought of Les as embodying 'cool', kind of the opposite. While I can see "fans" of Johnny Fever, I'm having a trouble with fans of <Les NESSSMANN> <reverb in full effect>. Of course of all the members of WKRP's staff I would be closest to Les in real life. Ah, back in the days before nerds were cool.

Other than their recon squadron, the were all converted to infantry. Had their own TO&E that sorta reflected their cavalry past, but in general they were just an oversize infantry division.
