Comic for Friday, Feb 7, 2025 Does Hope somehow get human priorities? Or is she as naive about them as other immortals are? If Pandora had inadvertently cause the crisis Jill faced, she probably would have known what was going on. Now I want to know if Bishop had an ulterior motive. Is she a caster? I can't recall an event where she used magic.

Comic for Monday, Jan 27, 2025 The big reveal recap of Pandora empowering Jay begins. TBD if jay reacts badly because it was traumatic, or if she is aware Pandora saved her life. I suppose that will be explained. "I'm why you have magic" seems like it would also carry weight. Not sure why Grace is expressing surprise. She barely knew Pandora, and barely knows her 'friend' Jay. Or she just shoved an acorn in her mouth. Maybe?

Comic for Friday, Jan 24, 2025 I like the exposition about the pocket dimension. It make it seem more real that it has limits. Susan is conspicuous by her absence. I think she would definitely want to investigate. Justin's absence might be due to need to be in the store, but Susan has no such obligation. The stars around grace are probably symbolic, not sure of what. It could be a phenomenon related to her different biology and not be just symbolic. If bugs bunny cartoons are any indication, she is suddenly dizzy and disoriented. Jay is still very guarded. Sarah is very accepting, is seemingly consciously adhering to being a good friend to Hope as Pandora's reboot.

Comic for Monday, Jan 20, 2025 Presumably, Justin is still there, off panel. Seems like the doorway should go off in some weird dimension they couldn't see, no matter what. Would she trust just a smoke screen to keep intruders out? Someone is likely to stumble in if it connects to the inside of the shop. Last panel looks like she's owning being an immortal. I like the pacing, moving forward.

Comic for Wednesday, Jan 8, 2025 Hmm. This comic seems unnecessary. Jay wants to apologize for overreacting earlier. I suppose there is a point of view where she did, but I don't think her earlier reaction was an overreaction. AJ is baffled by how she knew. She explains, which is probably not a great idea. I think she knows this, because she gives scant details, and later refuses to elaborate. AJ expects to be told he's doing something wrong. Jay does not care. Which supports my notion that this was unnecessary. AJ wants to know more. This is where Jay refuses, which may be a combination of unwilling and unable to elaborate. She is likely also mindful of Arthur's warning not to talk about magic. She still took a risk and invited unwanted attention by raising the issue. Now AJ has some awareness of Jay's capabilities. She really would have been better off letting him slink away. Looking back at the previous comic, Jay asks whether AJ's spell is visible in a mirror. IT seemed like a snarky dig, now I'm wondering if Jay was genuinely curious. If so, she should have found a mirror and tested it rather than open the dialog with AJ, who she clearly dislikes. Regarding the commentary, I'm not seeing that Jay's refusal to talk about magic with AJ is anything like kicking even a single puppy, let alone a thousand, although, again, it would have been wiser to let sleeping AJs slink. I think getting to know the core group will help her with this sort of thing, being able to vent in a safe place, learn some discernment, and gain some self-control. Which makes me wonder what Liz's relationship to the overall group will be? Comic for Monday, Dec 30, 2024

Comic for Monday, Dec 16, 2024 An interestingly weird comic. It's essentially about nothing of import, and manages to establish a relationship between Tedd and Jay. And then there's Tensaided's aside tossed in, which seems to foreshadow . . . something?

Comic for Monday, Nov 4, 2024 For a comic that is mostly a posting of coming matches, this comic has a lot of activity. Jay backpedals a bit on her marriage proposal, I guess realizing what she said. Susan has no time to respond. (I think the ship still has structural integrity.) Sam seems nervous to be paired with George, fearing that George will notice his actual sex change. Susan, paired with Larry, is distracted. By thoughts of Jay? They left a lot hanging. Sarah and Hope are happy to be hanging out. Jay and Tedd are nervous to be hanging out. And the chapter ends, to be resumed midweek, next week. I hope the pace keeps up.

Comic for Wednesday, Aug 28, 2024 Hope is not hopeful, but she's contacted by Sarah, so that may change. I thought Justin was playing against her, but I guess she's just turning in her score. AJ looks slightly worried.

Comic for Friday, Aug 23, 2024 Tedd analyzes and recaps recent comics. Jay seems to have a bit more temper than most of the cast, but not greatly so; she's not a hothead. We've seen a few outbursts from others. She may be less in control of her power, hence the lighting effect. Why does she know about Tedd? Did she overhear Arthur discussing Tedd?

Comic for Wednesday, Aug 21, 2024 I like this aspect of Jay. She has a spine. She seems more principled in this game arc than she's seemed in the past, and less dismissive. Dan's concept for her has changed? AJ is a shallow A-hole, bluster without substance, and no spine when he is found out. I wonder what Tedd is thinking. He knows Jay has magic now. That should lead to at least the conversation that Jay wants.

Comic for Friday, Aug 16, 2024 Grace has figured out stuff. Hope is sitting nearby, being a withdrawn significant presence. Jay is more accepting of her help than seems like Jay would do, but whatever, EGS characters drift toward healthier outlook all the time. AJ is a bit more busted, which is probably irrelevant. Which all raises issues with the previous comic. The people staring at her seem aware that Jay caused the flicker. Tedd is probably sure. Susan has enough experience with magic to not be surprised. What is her friend Mark thinking? Does he know about her magic?

Comic for Friday, Jul 26, 2024 Jay is working on becoming a more likeable character. We need more backstory, why was she kind of a jerk in earlier comics? 'Susan is exhausted' suggests Susan prefers to be genuine. Some folks thrive on being phony; I think it energizes them. Is Jay even aware of Susan's aversion to touch? Will it kick in when Jay attempts to hug her?

Comic for Wednesday, Jul 17, 2024 Jay is analytic and troubled. Sarah senses this, and Jay denies it. It seems to me, if you are a character that knows who Tedd is, and you want to meet Tedd, you walk up to Tedd, say "Hello, I'm <pick the name you want to use>. I've heard about you from <pick a name>, and I wanted to meet you." Jay has been hurt, and has trust issues, and can't do that. So, instead, fun and games circling the goal. She is a fledgling drama momma.

Comic for Monday, Jul 8, 2024 As portrayed in the comic in the past, rebooted immortals are kind of clueless - the couple that have been hanging around Elliot, perhaps selfish - Zeus, who is watching out for Susan and Diane. Pandora rebooted retaining much more than normal memory of her relationships, yet the outstanding feature of Hope is that she is hampered in functioning, more so than others who reboot unencumbered. Was it just a bad idea? I have the impression that is not what Dan intended. I expect her to be dialed in more quickly than a normal reboot; able to reconnect with her past. Of course it could be that Pandora was discounting the affects of her own actions and how it would affect her future self. She clearly does not understand people all that well. I hope she connects and gets guidance. Jay's response is a bit odd. Is she surprised that Susan has friends? Implying that she does not?

Comic for Friday, Jul 5, 2024 I get the impression that Jay overthinks things and could use a confidant to bounce her ideas off of. If that's the case, Susan would be good for her. Not much point to shipping these two. The cargo containers are loaded, the engines are running, they're about to get under way; nearly a done deal.

Comic for Monday, Jul 1, 2024 VS list with some mental images. Tensaided looks fierce, Tedd looks apprehensive. Susan and Rich both look freaked out. I think George is getting ready to stomp AJ. Hope still looks worried and withdrawn. She needs to pull Sarah aside and talk to her.

But it still hits hard every time she lets that thought cross her mind. I wonder if Dan will seriously explore the plight of people who become famous without wealth or institutions that can protect them? Those can be some of the scariest and most miserable tales ever.
