Maybe you need to, but a simple you are here is all I need. But I have had a two week training course in map reading.
  2. Things You Only Noticed On Reread

I've heard people say they were going to watch "Rogue One"'s sequel. Meaning of course, A New Hope.
  3. Story Wednesday April 19, 2017

Yeah, even military grid squares are based on Lat & Long.
  4. What Are You Ingesting?

Steel cut oat porridge made with "Golden Mushroom" soup instead of water. The porridge is the 5 minute type, for what it's worth. Not bad, will do again. The more I ate of it, the more I liked it. Will do again for sure.
  5. Ooendan

Almost all "modern" supercomputers are in fact clusters. Even the Cray-1 was a cluster, of a sort. Honking big all one block machines have problems that if one part dies, they all die. Clusters, not so much.
  6. What Are You Listening To?

How about being asked to come their in the spring time?
  7. Story Wednesday April 19, 2017

Unrelated let peeve, not targeting any one here, but modern popular culture in general. GPS coordinates They are called latitude and longitude. Did you even have geography as a class at any level of school?
  8. All of time and all of space....

Should have included the year 1980
  9. What are you reading right now?

Traveller, even back in the 3 LBB days always had a very good animal creation system. I have half a mind to add a half dozen more parts to it to expand to full monster. I know that is what I am doing with tiny fey and slimes, just have a set of tables to generate their abilities with out have dozens of actual entries about them. Leaning hard that way on the fey maidens so beautiful that they can stun/blind/enslave/drown/kill a mortal with but a single glance. If nothing else make some male versions.
  10. Things You Find Amusing

    Noted for Mortimer And Roger's.
  11. The Weather.

It's here. I can look forward to several days of rain now. The bluebird of happiness has filled my cup of joy. [edit] And the humidity is making me sweat like a sweating thing. Not the same as the waking up heavy sweat thing however.
  12. Things You Find Amusing

Don't mistake a modern fencing foil for a rapier, and don't mix up the various short pointy things. Give me 20 minutes with a good file, or about two minutes with a grinder wheel and I will take my epee into battle vs large dudes with daggers.
  13. The Weather.

54F Thunderstorms likely. A few storms may be severe. High near 60F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 100%. 1 to 2 inches of rain expected. Either one big honking front coming if from the West or several back to back. Way too much orange on the radar screen to make me happy. Hoping for minor, if any power fails, but shutting off the laptop and the iMac just to be sure.
  14. Story Friday April 21, 2017

    I accept this a canon.
  15. All of time and all of space....

August 14, At the Lenin Shipyard in Gdańsk, Poland. The pebble that took 9 years to roll.
  16. Things You Find Amusing

Disarms are much harder to do than Hollywood and role playing games would lead to think.
  17. Things You Only Noticed On Reread

But there are those 3 fanfic movies.
  18. NP Friday April 21, 2017

Just a minor mlooney twitch. Spaghetti strap sun dresses on small children are very often, well, tacky. And an invitation to a wardrobe malfunction.
  19. Story Friday April 21, 2017

BtVS must not exist in the EGS world. Buffy looks nothing like the other known slayers.
  20. What are you reading right now?

Noted and will be put to use in a few weeks, I hope.
  21. What are you reading right now?

Various monster lists, marking each one as to what general group and environment they belong in. Monsters and beasts are more important than you might think in a Traveller based Sci Fi game, as the most likely population is 100,000 to 999,999 for a whole world with a size about 70% that of Terra. Outside of the area right around the space port their is a lot of land that would be marked "here be Dragons" on old maps. And for that matter on maps of the recently occupied world.
  22. What Are You Ingesting?

I'm doing some gunpowder green tea, because I have a bit of tickle in my throat and I don't want to lose any more hours to The Q than I have to. I lost most of today for No Good Reason, and I'd like to be sort of functional Friday. I have massive cut-paste-change projects planed for the next couple of days.
  23. What Are You Listening To?

Some of the rest of that album is more what I had in mind. The content really doesn't jive with the declared history.
  24. Tumbler post If the text with the post is any thing even close to canon, we now have the Secondary OT3 with some changes, in that Susan may be doing more than watching Also, I like this version of "sexy" Susan better than her leveled up video guard. It's the hair.
  25. What Are You Listening To?

The Warning is proof that you can write and sing heart felt songs about things you haven't personally felt. And it not sound trite. The fact that Daniela doesn't sound like a 16 year old help. She sounds like a little more metal Meredith Brooks. Paulina does sound the teen that she is. This is an upgrade from pop singers writing songs about their ex boyfriend and other things from their life experience. Let's face it, it's not necessary for you to have done something to write a song about it. Mr. Cash never killed a man in Reno, for example.
