Got my vote! Yep, I'm on board as well! I would not really blame them. Political climate aside, the oceans gradually warming are not really hospitable to dolphins, so yeah, I wouldn't blame them either. Oddly enough, the cephalopods seem to be fine with it and are thriving. All Hail our Tentacled Overloads 2020?
  2. Story Friday August 4, 2017

Oh my! Won't somebody give Tess a hug!
  3. Story, Monday July 31, 2017

Perhaps we should consider letting dolphins run for office. Personally, I admit I am a terrible multitasker. I do much better when allowed to focus on one problem at a time. My wife on the other hand, seems to do quite well juggling tasks.
  4. Story Wednesday August 2, 2017

Good point, but I think that would require Edward to make the transition from overly-protective parent to reasonably-protective parent, one who would be willing to teach Tedd to protect himself instead of just protecting Tedd himself. I think it would be good for Edward to get to that point, but I don't think he's there yet. Oi! Yeah, now we are talking the path of revenge, like Noah or, given the alt history speculation, like Lord Tedd (shudder). Yeah, if the coming Vampocalypse goes badly, I can see Tedd churning out war-staves with Murder Shroud or Sword Storm or other dark, goth magic. Let's hope not. I would prefer a Tedd who's primary offensive staves temporarily transmute opponents to friendly bunnygirls/bunny boys or project pacify spells complete with illusionary carrots.
  5. Story Wednesday August 2, 2017

So for Tess' battle staff, she should use a different spell to add to Ellen's chain transformation spell. Friendly catgirl/catboy transformation? As for lack of offensive spells, if Pandora will facilitate the re-introductions, Tess could try to glean some from Adrian's inventory. Though I don't see her as the type to use Murder Shroud. Actually, can wizards and seers learn spells from Immortals? Do immortals utilize magic that way? Would Immortals be affected by the Will of Magic upgrading the operating system?
  6. Story, Monday July 31, 2017

Actually, can immortals tackle aberrations directly. The pair recruit mortals to fight immortals, guiding and empowering. If they were attacked directly by Sirleck, that would be one thing. Instead, he has vamps-for-hire doing his dirty work and going after Adrian. I bet they don't know Adrian is the child of an immortal. Now can an immortal defend family?

I have been known to adapt multiple sources of inspiration into games I have run.
  8. Story, Monday July 31, 2017

Ack, please tell me you aren't going to have your party wake up next to a sleeping mummy snoring a death rattle. Not that I can cast aspersions. As a game master I once offered this description to my players: "You know in the morning when you wake up? You don't actually wake up." I think I remember having an extant party member, who was away at the time, actually resurrected them and then they investigated their own deaths. But yeah, I was a butthead at times as a game master.
  9. Story Wednesday August 2, 2017

Granted, but able to shrug off enchantments so really high spell resistance, plus apparently a wealth of energy to pull from. And honestly, in a wizard battle, he would use prepared wands or staves, not as versatile, but beware if pulls out a wand of fireballs, or wow, imagine if he gets a staff, powers it up and uses Ellen's chain transformation spell on your party, but links the transformation to shrinking. Actually, would shrinking make an opponent easier to fight? Would a shrunken wizard casting a spell be less effective? Ack, getting off track. Sure, being a Seer has drawbacks; but I think tactically he could work within those drawbacks quite well given his own Gaming Background.
  10. Story, Monday July 31, 2017

Snoring comes from vibration of soft tissues within the airway. Dessicated throats aren't soft any more. They might rattle, I suppose.... Do mummies need to sleep? Though if they did, the thought of sleeping next to a mummy who is making a rattling noise... ugh!
  11. Story Wednesday August 2, 2017

Tedd does look happier, or excited? Is it just because of using the FV5 spell on himself, or is it because he knows that no matter what, even when the ambient energy is normal, even if magic changes, he can figure out magic and essentially cast spells as well as change genders? Honestly, that face looks so simply joyful, like a kid holding their eyes closed on a swing, that I am probably overthinking it. He's casting the spell he created for himself on himself. Yer a Wizard, Teddy!
  12. Story, Monday July 31, 2017

When first presented with Magus' plan, I think Sirleck wanted whatever body Magus wound up in, but having learned of Adrian's existence, I think Sirleck would covet Adrian's body for his longevity, but to actually be an Aberration possessing the child of an Immortal? That is asking for Trouble with a Capital T. One could imagine the Hellfire the Immortal parent(s) would rain down on the Aberration, but even if the Aberration could somehow escape, I think the whole Immortal community might think this an injustice of great magnitude.
  13. Story, Monday July 31, 2017

If it let me sleep without snoring, I am not sure it would be anymore annoying than wearing a CPAP. Now of course, getting a heated swimming pool in the home might be problematic... Ah yes, what I did look up indicated that only mammals snore; something to do with the structure of their throats. So, theoretically, a morph that used reptile, bird, amphibian, etc might also work. Though, that might be very jarring for someone to wake up to their partner with with a Komodo dragon face.
  14. Story, Monday July 31, 2017

And of course I had to try and look up what animals were least likely to snore. Didn't find anything yet, but I did find suggestions that men are much more likely to snore than women, so ironically enough, a watch that transformed men to women might actually have a chance of curing their snoring.
  15. Story, Monday July 31, 2017

Hah, that gave me the giggles. Your suggestion is an excellent one, and honestly, many people might be hesitant to use magic for a permanent change, when a change for just the night would be enough, but I envisioned the following scenario: "Hey honey, toss me my Teddcorp Snore-Away watch." "Uh, okay..." "What's the matter, honey, I thought you like the way you could sleep now that I don't snore anymore?" "True, but do the only options on the watch has to be Catperson, SquirrelPerson, or that other one..." "You mean the FV5?" "Yeah..." "Honeybun, why are you blushing?" "No reason!" Hmm, what animal-form would be the least likely to snore?
  16. Story, Monday July 31, 2017

Hmm, good point. it certainly seemed that Sirleck had ulterior motives for agreeing to Magus' plan, such as highjacking Magus' new body for his own perhaps? Could he be an aberration and a powerful wizard with such a move? Still, in going back over the archives to look for the above link, Magus came to the conclusion that he had to work with Sirleck because Pandora was a monster that had to be stopped and no one else knew about her except other monsters, i.e. other immortals who also could not be trusted. So, he is willing to work with a monster to defeat monsters and is willing to let innocents be killed to kill a monster. I agree, Sirleck is the greater danger, but I am not sure I would say Magus isn't the hawk anymore.
  17. Story, Monday July 31, 2017

Oh man, I would be on-board with this. My snoring was a sign of sleep apnea, and I finally got sleep-tested and prescribed a CPAP after I started falling asleep at a red light (turns out snoring can be a sign you aren't breathing correctly and therefore aren't getting good sleep because your body keeps coming back awake to breathe better). If I could get a permanent transformation that would alleviate the need for attaching myself to an annoying little device at night, I would do so in a heartbeat.
  18. Story, Monday July 31, 2017

I am not sure this is the best idea unless the method she suggests also gets him back to his universe? Pandora herself implied to Edward that Magus could present a danger to this universe's inhabitants and would be more powerful than they were at the time. Magus has had reservations about killing, but has also rationalized his way to working with Sirleck, despite recognizing they will most likely hurt people in Moperville. Oh sure, he accepts that this is on his head but there are certainly examples of super-villains who nobly decry the loss of innocent life that must come in order to further their noble goals. If Magus was good, he is letting that slip away in his desperation, and Pandora must have seen the possible ramifications of setting him loose on Moperville.
  19. Story, Friday July 28, 2017

I have been wondering that as well. I am think she is close to coming to that conclusion, hasn't yet (maybe, I waffle on this), but is unconsciously putting her affairs in order (again, I can see the opposite conclusion to this). What could derail this? Plan CM. Vampires going after Adrian? Pandora is the bomb that is being kicked. An atomic bomb.
  20. Story, Friday July 28, 2017

Good point. Her idea of good is also influenced by her desire to see her son able to protect himself. I think this has transferred to Tedd coupled with her guilt over not being with him when his mother left. So what could go wrong with Pandora trying to teach Tedd all that she can so he is powerful enough to protect himself. He seems to have matured enough with Elliot's help not to fall to the Dark Side. Maybe overconfidence? Still doesn't seem like the type. Anyone come up with downsides to Pandora having a poor grasp of good and mentoring Tedd?
  21. Story, Friday July 28, 2017

So, since we now have the minor spoiler from Dan that Pandora is genuinely trying to be good to Tedd, the only twist we can have now is someone coming down the stairs unexpectedly (I think a lot of us have been wondering if Edward was going to show up at various points along the way), especially since we had the magical glow of wandmaking. Admittedly, the most likely would be Edward (would Edward have security systems in place to detect magic occurring in his house, and if so, would they be turned off in the basement because of Tedd's experiments, just a thought) or Grace, maybe someone else might show, like Voltaire or Jerry. Any guesses?
  22. Story, Friday July 28, 2017

I like both of these ideas. I think you are correct that Pandora realizes that Tedd really needs to learn to be more accepting of himself as genderfluid; teaching him magic using those types of spells serves to help him be more comfortable as well as teach him the use of his magic. I wonder about the talking to Edward thing. I really believe Tedd should talk to his Dad about this; perhaps Edward's concern was for other reasons than transphobia, but I am not sure Pandora would want to advise Tedd to talk to Edward yet. As for the difference in teaching styles, there is also a difference in history. Raven lost his father and Pandora had just lost her husband; getting all drill sergeant would be understandable. With Tedd and the different history and connection, a more gentle approach would be required. I can see Pandora blaming herself for Adrian style of teaching, but I think Adrian needs to address his own drive to recruit people to fight the good fight to the point of obsessing; is it losing his father or the limit's on what he is allowed to do as a half-immortal that drive him?
  23. Story, Friday July 28, 2017

Is Pandora going somewhere with the spells she's asking Tedd to add to the wand? Or is just a lesson in stacking spells using spells he's likely to have seen? I only ask because I envisioned Pandora at the end telling Tedd that he was actually a Disney princess (after the appropriate spells were cast).
  24. Story, Wednesday July 26, 2017

Ah, how about these as possible secondary functions for a Seer. Create or discover new spells on their own, without having to see the spell first. After all, if magic changes, how are people going to learn how to do magic. Being able to mark people; essentially sensing their magic potential and starting them on that path. Now, these are not complete suggestions; I am not sure how they could be used without knowing that you can do them, but according to the Heka knowing you can do them would disqualify from that secondary purpose? That is a difficult requirement to work with, unless the point is that the purpose is only needed once magic changes and then you quality to perform that function? Hmm, needs work. On the other hand, something like being able to mark someone is definitely not something you would want someone of questionable morality to be able to do.
  25. Story, Wednesday July 26, 2017

I wonder if Tedd has two sources of power. The vast power he can tap to put energy into a wand for it to power the spell he places on the want, and the internal power needed to perform the task, sort of like performing some mentally strenuous task. Cause if he just uses the same power to place the spells as he uses to empower them, dang, his limiter becomes the availability of wands or staves or other enchantable items (have to be made a certain way, of certain materials, of certain quality, can only be made by hand?). And is a wand reusable? Once the spells are discharged, can you re-enchant it? How many times? Obviously questions either Pandora could answer or Tedd will discover using his powers of intuition, but dang, that is some serious power, depending on what spells Tedd knows. If he knew a fireball spell, he could just churn out some serious weaponry. Just pick a high level wizard, his dad or Raven, and have them run through their collection of spells. And suddenly Tedd can be very scary indeed if he needs to be. Just saying.
