The GM we had for the Heavy Gear game would randomly run the dice command in IRC with various modifiers, but not explain why, while we discussed what actions we should take and such, we didn't know if he was rolling because we were taking too long to decide, or if he was just playing with the bot. There was one night he rolled several times with a low result and chuckled saying "well got those pathetic rolls out of the way for yas" and the later rolled high and only gave an evil sound chortle. Well, sure, if the group is arguing what to do next, you can say that "talking is a free action" doesn't apply and the arguing actually takes roughly same time as in real time. But generally, game-time and real-time are very unsynchronized.

Not if he is convinced he already knows why. Especially considering that between Tedd, Sarah, Elliot and Ellen we can't exactly prove that long term use of transformation DOESN'T affect person's gender and sexual identity. A parent that doesn't get you but is not abusive and is accepting enough to let you live life on your terms? I tend to think a lot of GLBT kids would consider that a serious upgrade in situation. I don't think this is limited to GLBT kids. In fact, considering state of world, I suspect that majority of ALL children don't have such luck ... "letting you live life on your terms" doesn't sound like something likely to happen outside democracies, and how far are they in India with getting rid of caste system? (Rhetorical question, answer would be offtopic.) Also, this reminds me the unofficial competition for the "worst mother ever" title in Drowtales ... let's compare him to other parents INSIDE EGS: Noriko? ... Mrs Kitsune? Pandora? Mrs. Pompoms? Mr. Pompoms? Grace? ... wait, it's not her fault she's dead. Mr. Brown? Dunkels? I think he would end in middle.

Good point. Especially considering the watches would DEFINITELY stop working - if the clog wouldn't be cleared out, the magic WILL reset. And, as already mentioned, TF gun is also time limited (and also top secret). Note that Elliot almost certainly doesn't know about this. I'm not sure Tedd would be able to make so many of them, they would have no means to distribute them AND the watches don't work outside Moperville. I personally think Mr. V has never heard of genderfluid. Or maybe even transgender. I think Mr. Verres DID heard about transgender, did some sneaky tests which had negative results YEARS AGO and decided that's not it. Genderfluid is harder to find informations about and was worse in past. It feels disturbing, but because Tedd has access to government secrets, he may be REQUIRED to. Especially in case of people who do or may visit Tedd at home. So, it's not really weird that he does it. Yup, maybe both we and Tedd are reading those sights incorrectly ... Those "good hearted people" likely understand TF gun and magic LESS than Tedd does, so no wonder they can't find any solution. But yes, even if they would find something, it would be hard to get this approved considering the source of such technology ... and not even Verres former position was high enough to change that. Sure, Verres was arguing with his son about making magic public ... but that's because he wants to be good parent (doesn't matter if he is failing that or not, he definitely WANTS to) and making argument like "If you try to make magic public I will be forced to put you in DGB's jail before some other agent put both of us there so stop talking about it" isn't good parenting. The logic is probably that if Elliot can become Cheerleadra more than once then he must have some way to change back ( from female to male) in-between. It's definitely more likely it's Sam than some completely new. Even if he would KNOW how Cheerleadra spell works - which he doesn't - it would still be best lead he has. Also, Sam wasn't originally planned ... maybe that Dan originally though about the other direction of trans but then decided that Sam would work as well. I would consider this bold assumption. Temporary change would be simpler and considering Felix can re-cast the spell it would suffice.

If I remember correctly, unlike players, DM MIGHT use dices in some cases, although the rules didn't specified which dices. You mean every REAL-TIME minute? That doesn't make sense ...
-
While possible, I would think it's longer as well. Didn't we agree last strip that flat-chested doesn't mean guy?

Those odds don't depend on the die at all, but whether the GM wants to kill you now or wait until later. In case of SOME GMs, it depends on how much he wants to save you from your stupidity. Remember, you don't play AGAINST the GM. If GM would be your enemy, you would simply meet dragon in first 3x3 room at your first adventure. And he would be VERY pissed off due to being stuck in so small place. (There is one exception: Amber Diceless RPG. In that, GM might actually assume pissed off dragon is adequate opponent for start of first adventure.)

Considering that if something have chance 1:1000000 it happens 9 out of 10 cases ...
-
Certainly. Considering that most cases where we DO see characters on toilet in action movies is when someone will attack them there ... Obviously, people still NEED to go to toilet. (Unless they are using transporters for it.) But, they need to be careful to go on commercial break, just like people watching the show.

According to commentary, that wasn't how D20 was supposed to look, she just wasn't ready for it.

When we will have technology to build Dyson sphere, we wouldn't be content with one. Well, maybe we will send one or two such spheres away with those "meek" who don't need much ... but rest of us will close into such spheres only when the rest of universe will stop shining. Unless we will LEAVE such boring universe. I would say they did, only not onscreen. Probably after going to toilet which we also didn't see.

Yes, of course. Note that LED monitors are usually actually LCD monitors with LED backlit (although true LED display devices exists, their resolution is not ideal for monitors). Actually, we MAY get lucky in that galaxy collision. Meanwhile, the amount of luck necessary for saving us from Sun would be in the area of completely theoretical probabilities, as it would require quantum random effect to be magnified to the size of Sun. Of course, in the time of the galaxy collision, Sun would already be bigger than now - not enough to consume Mercury, but hot enough to boil our oceans. Unless we move - with or without the planet. Europa might look nice then.
-
Don't worry about that! Before the Sun becomes a white dwarf, it will grow into a red giant large enough to vaporize Mercury, Venus, Earth and maybe Mars too. In five or ten billion years or so. Long enough, perhaps, to abolish the electoral college. So, you mean you can't procrastinate through this? (This article claims that Mars is safely outside the risk to be consumed. And it already doesn't have any oceans to evaporate. But yes, seems that Earth will be gone. So, you can't procrastinate so much you miss your ticket to Europa's beaches.) Yes, it could. However, the desk in your picture doesn't have the most important feature of any desk: A place for your legs. I know whereof I speak; I'm typing this on a dresser. That slide-out drawer doesn't come out far enough. The place is there, but someone put printer in it.

Obviously, she wasn't reporter when he met her. This is not about forgetting something, this was about not realizing that Carol the Reporter and Carol Sarah's sister are the same person.- 26 replies

Don't forget, that was Ellen's suggestion. Of course, there's the possibility - even greater than normal - of overlap between whom Elliot is attracted to and whom Ellen is attracted to. Outside mathematic, this kind of possibility is called certainty. In fact, even strictly mathematically, the overlap is certain because Nanase is there.- 26 replies

While it's indeed possible they only show what they couldn't sell, I wouldn't be surprised if someone there LIKED that movie. (Actually looking on wikipedia what movie it was) ... ok, maybe little surprised. He won, because he noticed. But he wasn't satisfied with the price ...

Yes, indeed, and I should live long enough to afford to buy one. The table or house big enough?
-
Do that long enough and "Bad Things" will happen Are you referring to Sun turning into white dwarf? Email may not be secure enough. Correct computer table SHOULD have keyboard on lower level than the monitor. Goood point. Although note that they only got the CRT TV because parents decided to buy a flat one. Also, note that I have two flat monitors but my TV is still CRT.

That would probably be me. But at least the first few times it would be purely for pervert reasons. The chance to find out what things might feel like to a girl would be just too good to pass up. And then there's the ability to have multiple orgasms... I'd certainly would investigate that most thoroughly! Considering how many girls complain they can't even get single orgasm, this might be case of "grass is greener on the other side" ... but yes, I would definitely try as well. Maybe I would be lucky. ... or, if it would be something like FV5 ... I'm sure FV5 doesn't have any problems reaching orgasm. I suspect that for drag queens, sex doesn't actually have anything to do with that. Meanwhile, there will likely be genderfluid people "hidden" between the transvestites. So yes, definitely complicated.
-
He is definitely procrastinating, but I'm not entirely sure what is the thing he wants to avoid. Thinking about not transforming? Thinking about magic reset? Reading the comments? Something we don't know about? Not sure why he doesn't just try that spell; sure, he might still not understand what it does, but it's about seeing something - there shouldn't be any risk. And not sure why he would need to read those comments. Although on his place I would be interested too.

That may not be that much far You forgot exhibitionists who wouldn't really like it but would still change frequently and seek costume parties. I mean, for Tedd, changing gender is simpler than shaving ... (Yes, I think there are people who crossdress despite being cisgender). But yes, almost everyone would at least think about trying that. And that's not counting that pretty soon, someone would get the idea of making it mandatory part of sexual education because it would be less "naughty" than showing images of opposite gender. (I'm not saying it would be ; I'm saying someone will claim that.) The story definitely runs this direction ... except that magic reset may make watches not work. Possibly, although for Felix, it might've been two or three dreams coming true at once.

But not that much being THAT close to a male while female. Well if you don't count Tedd as male, you may be right, usually he's not that close to other males. If you're talking about the secret ID forms, then yes, Mild Mannered would be, Heidi is the stereotypical party girl who'll go both ways, and Goth...not sure, but the attraction for males would be as tacked on as it was for Ellen, Elliot doesn't have that with the custom morphs. Hmmm ... good point. Elliot's custom forms may not share the TF gun's change in sexuality, in which case Mild Mannered's attraction might be new to him (almost new: he was transformed by TF gun on party). Heidi is certainly bisexual but she's also not embarrassed about it, while Mild Mannered might be even more embarrassed than normal Elliot would be (meaning, the mind alteration would amplify such feelings). She enjoys it more with Tedd and Grace now, which is fine for the OT3. That's not exactly same. And yes, it's not like we want her back with Elliot- 26 replies

I suspected that. BTW, seems it's actually free now.
-
The difference might be in how much they actually catch in canon. I still think Grace isn't doing that many changes of clothing in canon as in NP. You have a weird conception of the word "free" (It is only available for $3+ patrons, at least for now) You must kill at Hocus-Focus. It isn't that hard when you start actually looking for changes. But I must say that this time the distraction was enough I only looked when I noticed your post. In some games, you can cheat just little to basically create additional (easier) difficulty which is still worth playing. Of course I mean single-player computer games ... although, in case of card games for example, many have easier (or quicker) variants of base game based on same idea. And I suppose there could be way to play multiplayer game with every player using the same limited cheating, or players can agree on one using limited cheat as a way to balance handicap. Hmmm ... actually, if I remember correctly, (some) Warcraft had some functionality that if you used cheat in multiplayer, it worked for all players - like, giving some resources to all players.

That would come with all the female transformations if his magic works like the gun. Justin was just the first person he noticed it with who was not androgynous enough to not realize it was a reaction to male qualities. Not really. Being attracted to men in general doesn't usually means being attracted to ALL of them. I interpreted that scene as him being attracted to Justin more that with other female forms, and he DOES have lot of data points for comparison. Sarah was too jealous at that point - both at Elliot being sexier girl than her and at him having magic. She was trying to not show it too much, but when both parts were triggered at a same time, she failed. Of course, with all her experiments with watches, now she might actually enjoy fun like that, although probably still not as much as Ashley. I wouldn't be so sure she's more impulsive than Ellen. It's just he's not used to being impulsive, Ellen is. And if getting mind off of things is what you want, the party form is likely most healthy way of doing it. Sure, it would be healthier to process those things properly so they get off your mind by itself, but in case of breakup, that can't be done quickly and wouldn't actually solve anything. It would be much less healthy if he would be using party form to get his mind off problems with finding job for example, except I'm sure party form would be able to find job easily. I would say he decided situation is too serious for risking the mind alteration complicating it even more.- 26 replies
