We can't rule it out ... she learned ZERO spells from others till now, but she also had ZERO opportunity.
-
That might be good reason to not look at it. Even if there wasn't anyone in that car, there will likely be someone who got divided by the end of simulation.

And in the TNG espisode "Booby Trap", La Forge instructs the computer to use a person's personality profile to give the hologram of that person more natural behaviour. At least La Forge is a chief engineer who may actually have some "only supposed to be used in emergency" rights on main computer. Where Barkley got rights to Diane's image ... wait. Holocamera. Maybe the full scan data are as easy to get as you can get photo with some celebrity today. Still, better than VOY, where some random aliens removed weeks of data from main computer and Janeway was like "ok, that's resonable, sure". Apparently, they have as low computer security as those aliens from Day of Independence.

I think the simulated space from outside would look similar to how doom map looks from inside wall when using noclip. Disturbing. This is winter in the Midwest. A featureless grey sky is completely normal. Sarah may not have noticed the difference until she got to the wall. Yup. Not disturbing. Entering Grace's dreams might be an ability that's exclusive to dreams. Depends if EGS magic treats dreams and thoughts as different but related things or not. And Pandora doesn't necessarily need mind reading to learn of their marking potential. Might be a kind of 'aura vision' related to the way Adrian can sense people's magical power. Dan tried to explain it little here (502). Apparently, she can read personalities, but not thoughts. I guess it would technically count as telepathy/mind reading, but it is limited. I agree that the point of asking the questions (and also point of trying few days before Halloween) was to make people think about it, but Pandora isn't reading exactly what they think about. Something being visible in aura might be good explanation. Maybe it's something like looking into foggy mirror - she doesn't see the thoughts itself but just the contours. Yes, the way immortals read information is unexplained. Even what Jerry deduced was well outside Sherlock Holmes abilities, and even Sherlock Holmes abilities often look like cheating. So, telepathy/mind reading? Clairvoyance? Whatever it is, there are limits on it which prevents to use it to read what is someone thinking, not speaking about deep scan of his memory. Also note that she mentioned she must find way to observe Sarah while casting the spell ... suggesting there IS a way. I would guess that dream entering is separate ability and that she does think about modifying the dream entering to enter the simulation, but is not sure how to do it yet.

Actually, first evidence - and pretty big - for Diane wanting something else from Elliot was in Family Tree, long before she discovered Elliot can be she. Susan was SPOILED with the money. She resisted, but only after she realized it. Meanwhile, Diane's adoptive parents might not be poor, but they could be strict in what were giving her, especially considering they adopted multiple children. Also, Rhea is sharing the cost of the apartment with others living there. Considering it was a month after meeting Rhoda that Catalina failed to hide the fact that she was dating someone to Susan, and thus 7 months prior to the current story (and nearly 5 months prior to the NP) I'm pretty certain Rhoda would have had to decline invitations to do stuff with Diane that early as well, and at some point, if not right away, would have mentioned Catalina by name and mentioned how they met, Rhoda would still have hid the fact that they were dating, but at least saying something like "Sorry, I'm going to be watching that new movie with Catalina Saturday" isn't as suspicious as "Sorry, I uh...have other...things, to do." There is also the fact that Rhoda and Catalina were on the news together, if Diane saw that, Rhoda would have to at least acknowledge it at some point, and she could still do that without saying anything about the relationship, like "yeah after the interview, I was still pretty shaken up about the boar so we just talked for a while." I mean, it's not the first time 2 people from separate schools ran into each other and immediately become friends. Also they didn't have to spend ALL summer, of course there are likely occasions where Rhoda had other plans with family and such. But we do have canon proof that makeouts in the back of the movie theater happened in the summer. Just because they hadn't see each other naked yet by October doesn't mean they hardly saw each other, they could just be comfortable with kissing for now and haven't moved beyond that yet. Makeouts in the back of the movie theater are good reminder, but I still think we know next to nothing about how much time Rhoda spend with Catalina OR with Diane, so saying Diane already noticed is just guess. Of course, it CAN be right. Rhoda doesn't seem experienced in lying and there is definitely element of chance here. On the other hand, she actively tried to keep it secret from Diane. She might've got as far as cancelling something planned with Catalina because Diana asked for the same time.

We do have the word of commentary on a certain pinup claiming possibly spoiling the fact that she could transform others. Whether or not Dan's teasing us or not is something only Dan knows though. Considering he CERTAINLY teases in other pinups commentaries ... hard to say.

I did previously stated that I believed Diane had known about Catalina for a while before New Years and that there might have been several instances where Rhoda turned down going out with Diane and Lucy to "hang out" with Catalina. Diane and Lucy are at the mall as well, did Diane ask if Rhoda wanted to come along, offer to help pick up a guy for her? The decision to go to the mall could have been after Rhoda declined the invitation, I dunno. The point I'm trying to make is, before Death Sentence, Rhoda would have spent a lot of time around Lucy and Diane. After Death Sentence, it's likely Rhoda started spending less time with them and more time (at least for after school and weekends, and summer) with Catalina, and Diane's likely noticed this and deduced reasons for it. Hmmm ... it's true that time difference between Death Sentence and this NP story is bigger than time difference between NP story and New Year. On the other hand, they didn't see each other naked yet. Hard to guess how much time they spend together and how many opportunities therefore Diane had to find out. Note that Rhoda might had program which didn't involved Diane NOR Catalina for summer, with her family for example.

1) That might've been illusion 2) Only in self-defense or if it can be put into "empower and guide" rule. While technically true, I suspect that most uses of this power will immediately blow a canon-protection fuse (so comic will turn non-canon).

Wild Speculation. Beyond the barrier to her simulated realm is the spirit plane in which immortals hide and Magus is trapped. That's extremely unlikely based on Pandora not being able to observe what she's doing with her spell. There's nothing beyond the barrier. Probably literally.

How do we know that'd be her mother's reaction? My headcanon is that the entire Bobcat clan are party animals. Even as party animals they might object to hi-jinks. But, obviously, it was just joke, we don't know anything about them. Diane does know Catalina by name. That wasn't "I don't know any Catalina" who. That was "Do I hear correctly?" who. That much is evident when we see her reaction to Rhoda's messenger avatar. She totally didn't buy the "just buddies in a photo booth" excuse. Timing! This will happen TWO MONTHS LATER! Of course she knows "now" (in main story), but she may not know "now" (in NP story). Also Diane makes that remark about "the lovebirds" still being in their room. She's referring to Rick and Elijah. Perhaps she's disappointed that Rick turned out to be same-sex oriented, but she isn't really making a big thing of it. She may be disappointed that Rick didn't chosen her, regardless of which sex is her competition. Me neither. Although she MIGHT be unsure if it's just admiration or crush. That's much safer, considering the person who feels if puppies are in danger turned out to actually have mark spell for that AND multiple people had yearning for it ... and we know Diane is not marked. Also, it's not about her specifically picking gays: she's just good at guessing who are in relationship. I mean, which pairs are. Technically, yes. But Nanase was actually searching for romance. Diane, not so. Which doesn't mean she's NOT bisexual or gay, but it does lower weight of this argument. Also remember that she seems to have real feelings for Elliot. Elliot when boy. Given that Dan must've explicitly mentioned there are not kissing on previous page ... Personally, I think she may be bisexual. Or, say, 1-4 on Kinsey scale. 0,5 or 6 would surprise me.

Tedd Grace Elliot Ellen Nanase (sort of) Catalina Rhoda How many does she think she needs? Hundred? Thousand? If Moperville has population over hundred thousand, 7 is very short, isn't it? Actually, quality is more important than quantity, and Tedd, Grace, Elliot, Ellen and Nanase are disappointingly not transforming in public often enough.

We never saw Abraham hitting the avatar's shoulder, so we can't really use that as proof. As I said from my experience being jolted awake has the same effect, nerves are firing, heart racing, certainly does feel like something hit you at first and you instinctively yell out and curl up to try to get yourself back together. True ; the angle of axe swing suggest that might've happened but it's not certain enough to be proof. Maybe the damage she feel is not realistic - she feels it on corresponding part of her body but the intensity doesn't match what would she feel from real injury. If she does feel it realistically, she's much tougher than she looks. On the other hand, she's doing martial arts, we can't rule that out. Remember that she definitely has tactile feedback, and while pain and touch receptors are separate, the "overload of touch" sensation is likely painful even without pain receptor firing. In any case, the feeling should quickly pass after disconnecting from fairy, although based on comics it's not immediate ... What part of mine "What we see is not what Sarah see" did you missed? I think that what she sees is not wall nor empty space but somehow both.
-
I wouldn't necessarily say she feels the damage itself, I'd compare it to being suddenly woken up from a dream. There have been times where I've been woken up by what felt someone flicking their finger against my spine, and my whole body felt like it had been jolted by an electric shock. It didn't hurt, but it was very unnerving, and Nanase's reactions to getting her consciousness forced back to her body look exactly how I felt. She's holding her stomach there and she's holding shoulder next time. I think she does feel something in places where the doll was damaged.

Well, it is not parkour, but should they really do a lot of hi-jinks using their spells? Pandora: "Yes. Of course they should. Popcorn?" Mall guard: "Definitely not. I'm not sure what they are doing, but even running is forbidden." Kitty: "I want to do those hi-jinks with them!" Rhoda's mother: "My daughter doing some hi-jinks? I'm sure you mistaken her for someone else." Catalina's mother: "As if she would care about my opinion. Sigh." Diane: "Rhoda and who?" Tedd: "... I'm actually more interested about what I can learn about their spell than about possible wardrobe malfunction! What have I became?"

You might underestimate how weird seeing the end of the world is. It's not depicted accurate in the comics because it's not possible to depict it with just pixels. She goes into it and it will surround her on all sides, so she won't see anything. She makes several steps, no change. Then she turns around, makes single step and is immediately back in simulation. I don't think Pandora had that big influence on what exactly is the spell doing. Most influence probably had Will of magic. Who was NEVER sane by mortal standards. On the other hand, it's the same will of magic who is enforcing the safety rules on transformations, so ... That's with the expectation of a spherical or hemispherical area. While that does sound most likely, my next guess would be the area Sarah is wondering about, trimmed to the limit of her spell's power. She would likely wonder about things like entire rooms, buildings, or roads, so a flat "end-of-scan" might be how the spell goes down the road until it runs out of thaums. With that clue slightly blunted, Dan has done a masterful job of obfuscating the total area. Hmmmm ... no, that would mean there is some sort of pre-scan of what is around. Although it IS possible that the center of spell is not Sarah but center of her attention ... but still unlikely. Tedd description was accompanied with spherical range centered at Sarah's head, after all. Nanase did have the advantage of a spellbook telling her nothing would happen to her if her avatar was destroyed. So she knew about it before the first time it happened, though not sure if her scream was from the experience of suddenly having her consciousness thrown back to her body, or from suddenly having Vlad in her face just prior to getting sent back. Remember also that while she isn't actually injured, she FEELS the damage of fairy. But, yes, the spellbook is BIG advantage in such case. As noted by Susan. The effects shouldn't be too bad. The barrier should just be impenetrable, or alternately one other facet of the simulation that Sarah could manipulate. The worst that could lurk beyond the barrier would be aspects of Sarah's own mind, I don't think anything bad can happen if she toss something into it. There doesn't seem any subconscious monsters around either, Pandora would mention them. And Sarah's body is not there anyway ... so, while I would start with tossing and poking with a stick, even poking with finger should be completely safe. Entering it, well, that may be more risky ... If she's in buss, she might missed her stop - oh wait, school IS the FINAL stop.
-
FINALLY! Been calling it since she shown. And predicting the explanation as well: seriously, Pandora might not like name based affinities, but no way would her hate be big enough to miss this opportunity. Also calling this for several strips already. There are hard to predicts parts of this storyline, but this is not one of them. Note: Pandora marked her in hair. Searching for mark would be hard in case they think about it. Did Pandora though about it or is she just so good she's doing it subconsciously? ... emphasis on "try". This is likely to result in even more hijinxs. Also, originally I was joking about EFTM - Part 5, but it's getting more and more likely ... ... well it would explain what forced Catalina, Kitty OR both to turn him into catgirl. Wait: must be Kitty, Catalina would turn him into catboy.
-
Clarification: I was pointing out the need for Sarah in her time-freeze spell to get well away from her own body. Further away than can be achieved while remaining inside her home (both physically and in-spell) let alone inside a car. This does not require that her body not be at home or in a car - she can leave either within the spell. (Hypothetically of course she COULD check her range when her body's pretty much anywhere... some places for it are a worse idea than others.) Note that her range is not likely to move: even when in moving car, her simulation will remain frozen and will contain stuff which was inside her range in the instant she cast the spell.

When did you think they got their training time for that? Obviously starting "now" Obviously. But, you know, making mistakes is big part of training. So, they may be pros in two months, but they MAY do some mistake which causes them to "not be fine" now. (Although, obviously, that "not be fine" won't include death. But, seriously, death is rarely an option in EGS, even as a result of very dangerous mistake.) It's even possible only the fact they are transformed saves them from being banned from mall ...
-
These two are pros at using dressing rooms for other things than dressing. They'll be fine. Not yet. They WILL be pros two months from now.
-
On one hand, they would probably start with resizing, and that wouldn't work because they need to start with disguise. On the other hand, the retail guard have work with the skateboarding people. So, good question.
-
Or kicked it off and flown out a window. I doubt that she can do a range check while remaining inside her home. Or inside a car. Presumably, it's morning, close to start of school. If she's not on way to school, she's risking coming late. So, while possible, it would be weird putting it here. More likely, she IS on way to school, hopefully by bus or with someone else driving. And probably not Elliot, because she would have lot to speak about with Elliot.
-
Sarah might have been taking the bus with Tedd and Elliot in the mornings since at the time her and Elliot were dating, and the reason Susan usually drove her home might be because of the after school feminist club meetings, but Elliot's "we think he missed the bus" comment sounds like they didn't take the bus that morning. So if Ellen had the car, how did Elliot get to school? Wait, where did they missed the bus? Although the bus is referenced here ...

That's some supernatural mojo if Grace's lespuko DNA was calling out to her. While not SHOWN, it is possible that she SAW her Lespuko parent as a child. We can't rule out supernatural mojo either of course. She DOES have telekinesis and who-knows-how-many additional senses, so some sort of genetic memory or telepathy is possible ...
-
I think the Lespuko was shown once .... even if you don't count that skull which was haunting Grace and was probably his. EDIT: The monster seen here is likely Grace's Lespuko parent, although good luck finding proof ... EDIT2: For being Grace's parent I mean. It being Lespuko is confirmed in Q&A.

No, but it's illegal to do so, in the case if Sarah driving back to Tedd's in Sister, it would have been odd to let Sarah drive if she didn't have a license while Susan certainly did. Of course it's illegal, but considering the amount of transformations in this comics, I wouldn't rule out situation where they would be forced to. Not that I remember any. (On the other hand, I remember situation where Sarah needed ride despite having car ... guess she hadn't keys or something.) Three passengers giving direction is actually pretty scary though. "Don't talk over each other, decide who will give direction by rock paper scissors and others be quiet!" Considering Justin called his parents to ask permission to stay overnight at Susan's, there's no indication that he's not still living with his parents. I think any of the main characters moving out would be worth mentioning in comic, even more so if they were kicked out for whatever reason. Right. So at least his dad is around. It's still weird we never saw him. EDIT: For people who want to count cars in comics: Justin took both Nanase and Susan FROM Grace's birthday party, but Susan arrived earlier with Sarah. How?
