  1. Story: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

Catalina has pronounced canines. But I think she has them always, not only when angry. I don't think this would make her not care about the kid. Maybe the ears get longer the longer they live? Adrian Raven is much older. Or they may be under permanent transformation from Pandora - she DID transformed Adrian in Sister II, so it can't be THAT impossible. Wait. Diane is in same school as Adrian. It doesn't seem likely he overlook her being part elf. This wasn't first time he saw her. Pity, it was nice theory. (This is even bigger plot hole for the "they are Adrian's kids" theory. He may not know about Susan, but Diane?) Maybe Edward insisted they must wait for them being 23 years old as per FBI rules, despite the bad situation? Frankly, the situation doesn't seem to be THAT bad, unless they are much better in keeping incidents secret than in killing aberrations. Still, it seems obvious to me that DGB does plan to enlist them, with age being most likely reason they didn't already. They don't need to inform them about it years in advance.
  2. Story: Friday, April 1st 2016

Makes sense. Not sure if it's really one of her objectives, but even if Adrian doesn't actually want such team (he doesn't want to repeat past mistakes), she likely thinks he does. And, with Arthur Arthur, it can happen even WITHOUT distrust of Edward, but with the distrust it's even more likely.
  3. Story: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

There are lot of locations which are neither US nor Europe, and she may travel a lot, up to the point of not really staying anywhere long enough to call it home.

It's comparable to Rock-Paper-Scissors. Power is not linear. The creature may possess some special attack which will be super effective against the dragon but not against you. Or the creature may be immune against some of Dragon's powers, say hypnotism and you are not (that would explain why you can't attack him, it's not just because developers are lazy :-) ). Not speaking about the possibility you will kill the creature in unfair way. (EDIT: Him or her. Is it a lady dragon? It is possible that you won't attack the dragon because it's against your honor to attack ladies, while the creature is not bound by such stupid rule? Or is it the dragon who is bound by- wait, that creature is the dragon's ex, isn't it?)
  5. Story: Friday April 8, 2016

It's also possible that Tedd already considered his mom leaving was because of him not having magic potential, that could have been why he became so withdrawn for several years. I wonder if when William and Gillian came to Edward to ask for help programming the TFG, Tedd saw that as a chance to be more than his parents thought he could be. Well ... we are working with a "Edward thinks that Tedd thinks" stuff here. And Edward may be worried that "legendary monster hunter" might make Tedd think that what he did with TFG is not enough. This would obviously mean that either Edward is not aware how much his son managed to do (if he IS aware, how can he not realize that Tedd must have some rare abilities to do that?) OR that Edward is afraid that TEDD is not aware how much he managed to do (which, actually, was right until the tournament: Tedd didn't realized his ability to see magic is something extraordinary.) Or, he knows something we don't which changes situation. Or, he lies and what he's ACTUALLY afraid of is Tedd trying to find Noriko for example. Or it's really the "Any mention of Noriko is dangerous" hypothesis. Anyway, Edward not understanding Tedd's gender fluidity means that he don't understand his son (or daughter :-)) as good as he thinks, which can mean his OTHER conclusions, including the "he will get withdrawn again", may also be wrong.
  6. Story: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

From storytelling perspective, the "features common in that region" would be equivalent to coincidence. Dan showing that the disguise looks like Susan is Chekhov's gun. I'm speculating how that metaphorical gun can be fired. I still think my explanation is more likely than Susan being Adrian Raven's daughter. Your explanation, while more likely outside fiction, would mean the gun will NOT be fired and poses question why Dan used two panels on it. (There is another way to fire the gun: maybe it was just simplest way how could Dan drop the "half-immortals can't have kids" line and THAT will became important later.)
  7. Story: Friday, April 1st 2016

You can argue that enlisting them in DGB can make them SAFER. On the other hand, yes, especially Grace and Elliot might have even bigger problems with accepting orders to let people be killed than Cranium and Wolf. And yes, it's quite likely Cranium and Wolf arrived on New Year on their own instead of under Arthur Arthur's orders. They might totally say that the fugitive was random encounter. Meanwhile, there probably was someone who was actually "on guard" for case of incidents (not having free time like they did) who they DIDN'T called because he will be less likely to help. Still, there is probably some time before they will get the offer (FBI wants at least 23 years, DGB may operate under similar rules), the head of paranormal may change meanwhile. Or, with the informations already on their files Edward might be unable to prevent them being hired.
  8. NP: Friday, April 8, 2016

Certainly, but you want them to be loyal enough not to backstab you in favor of the first person to offer them a few bottlecaps more than you did. Professionalism/personal honor can substitute for loyalty--they just have to be someone who isn't going to break a contract too lightly. Alternatively, you can make sure that there is noone around with such offer. Also, if the job is "go somewhere and flip the switch", how exactly could that backstab work? Even if the job is to bring something, they can simply assume that getting that thing from you is easier than getting it from where it is now.
  9. Story: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

Success! It's true that Tedd's "I'll never have a spell of my own" provides great example of how denying something can be hint. On the other hand, remember that Susan is natural blonde, just like Diane, while Grace's disguise had black hair just like Raven. Also, they don't show any signs of being Seyunolu, and Noah's counterexample notwithstanding, them having earth magic talent is NEGATIVE sign for them having anything to do with Uryuom. WAIT. What if them being ADRIANs kids is just red herring? They may be related without them being Adrians daughters. He directly say that he would like to pass Grace as niece, not daughter. What if Susan and Diane are PANDORA's kids and Adrian half-sisters? (And before thinking about Pandora giving birth, remember that she might just as easily be their "father".) Or actual nieces, with Raven's sibling being the parent who found how to get over the "half-immortals can't have kids" rule.
  10. Story: Friday April 8, 2016

pffthahaha paranoia mode? In secret service, mild paranoia is important character trait for promotion. Secret service and computer security. I can neither confirm nor deny which of those fields I'm working in. Even if her mom is her birth mom, it's still an awfully important secret to keep from Susan, that she has a sister, a twin, and for some reason they not only separated them, but never told either of them about the other! They stole an incredibly important relationship from her, years and closeness which can never be reclaimed, and I have a very difficult time coming up with any sort of adequate justification for doing that to both of them. Her mom would have been lying to her her whole life. That sort of revelation irrevocably damages a relationship, and she'll never look at her mom the same way again. Susan is in need to know. If her mom wouldn't agree to tell her, the relationship DESERVE to be damaged. There is no way Diane can get proper training AND be integrated into main "eight" without Susan noticing she's her twin. The longer they withheld that knowledge, the more they risk that the relationship she has with her mother wouldn't be only relationship damaged when she realizes it. ... yup. This makes it hard. "You need to tell Susan she has twin but we cant' tell you why". Willing to let her protect Diane ALONE? No. Still makes sense for Nanase being the "contact". Like, better if Nanase will help with the explaining than keeping them separate. And yes, Diane definitely needs Greg's training. Actually, this is not just about Diane. If the concentration of vampires in Moperville is alarming, EVERYONE with summoning talent is in need of protection. ... would be funny if they tell Edward about the vampires and he mentions "Damn, we must do something with Diane" before being told about the rest of stuff. Also point. Edward might not have the option to assign agents to guard Diane even if he would want to. Making Nanase the best of his limited options. Nanase AND SUSAN. I think that the idea is to not mention Noriko to Tedd AT ALL. The more he would think about her, the more likely is he will get to this or some other dangerous conclusion, no matter how innocent the information he will be provided will look.
  11. Story: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

We've been given every indication they're divorced and she's a deadbeat parent. why would you assume communication? The "can't come home even for Christmas" might've easily been said by Edward. Only thing which is unlikely to be said by Edward is that Noriko was "your mother left because you are such a disappointment", and even THAT might've been conclusion Tedd came with himself based on something else Edward said. Also, while Tedd mentioned that Noriko is "somewhere in Europe", this may NOT be true - it may be lie Edward said to explain why she can't visit. On the other hand, it sounds unlikely she's in US, in monster hunting business, and doesn't at least pay attention to important points in Tedd's life.
  12. Story: Friday, April 1st 2016

Oh. Right. So that wasn't due to Tedd either. Note that he MIGHT force Sarah to work for DGB anyway. The main issue here is that it's nowhere as bad as Pandora make it seem, also she will be in good company, as Edward will likely try to recruit whole main eight. I don't think Adrian have enough resources. Also, he already knows almost everything main eight would be able to tell him. No, only one who doesn't know as much as he thinks he does is Edward. And even HIS options might be limited now when he's not head of paranormal division - which happened as direct cause of Abraham attack which Pandora controlled, so I'm SURE she is aware of it. (Likely she didn't needed to do anything special to cause that, but she certainly predicted that even if Edward wouldn't kill Abraham, he will still be replaced at that position.) The age difference is also part of why it sound that way. EVERYONE is child compared to Pandora. There is difference between "you will be punished BY AUTHORITIES" and "you will be punished BY US". Frankly, I see this more like combination of bribe and extortion. Like informing a businessman that if he tries to tell about them to authorities, the investigation will reveal that some contract that he ALREADY ACCEPTED was actually bribe and he wouldn't be able to prove otherwise.

Look at it from the other side: handing out the quest to PC is the best way to have it done. Often only one. Also good point. And if that person succeed, then she obviously wasn't THAT unqualified. All too many games seem to teach that people aren't people. Well they are not. I mean, anything you find inside single player game is controlled by computer - YOUR computer, not something big capable of running true AI - and therefore certainly not people. Note that only character who is allowed to not take them as people because of knowing this is Deadpool. Most player characters are supposed to be unaware they are player characters.
  14. Story: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

If it is, than they've got one job and they're failing it. badly. Neither is even slightly funny. I used "supposed" on purpose. Often you can tell by the laugh track.
  15. Story: Friday April 8, 2016

They didn't seem to make list of who was there. Of course, Cranium might be THAT good. ... or they already have the list because they started working on it when Nanase mentioned she was invited. (Speculation mode ++: Mrs. Kitsune insisted they do it.)
  16. Story: Friday April 8, 2016

That's very logical assumption. In fact, they should've done background checks on other people who possibly might find out about magic as well. And all family members. Probably did Diane and Charlotte after the New-Year incident. You mean someone would NOTICE he's doing that? He seem to have all sort of secret informations ON PAPER.
  17. Story: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

Nitpick: We know there are aberrations that can hijack a person's body. We don't know if they are bloodsuckers, Sirleck doesn't seem to be. He MAY have that magical talent. If Noah is Seyunolu, it's actually more likely the spider vampire have this talent than Noah having it. I though that the main difference is that sitcoms are supposed to be funny.
  18. Story: Friday, April 1st 2016

You don't see a fun potential in reporter having such ability? Also, it might be someone else than Pandora marking her. Exactly. As I said: it's not likely, but this is EGS, it might happen. Tedd, who will totally never have a spell of it's own, got a spell. Sarah, the token "not having magic" person, with immortal confirming she had no talent, got a spell based on talent. (Also, we should remember that even if Carol don't have magic now, that may change quickly. It seems that Pandora's strategy is to mark everyone she can. But she's not likely to give anyone that nice explanation she gave to Sarah. THAT she only did because of Tedd.)
  19. We Begin Anew!

Whoa you're right. The "X replied to Y's topic in Z". ... frankly, the rule for "div p.ipsType_blendLinks, div p.ipsType_blendLinks span.ipsType_light" is very suspicious, as it sets both white text AND white background. For the source it's at least not the same rule.
  20. Story: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

Then the reason they were up for adoption would likely be that the parents are dead and therefore unlikely to appear. (Although we can't rule that out completely. Also, maybe both parents were hunters but only one died while the second was far enough they didn't contacted him instead of the adoption.)

Isn't "stagnant" what such water IS, and not what it become? Hmmm ... no word for what I mean on wikipedia's water stagnation article, maybe it doesn't exists (like, maybe generic term like "bad" is used). Anyway ... the point I wanted to make is that even water which is not contaminated in obvious way will become unhealthy if stagnant for some time. (Mostly because bacterias will multiply from normal to dangerous levels.)
  22. Story: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

a couple people have said he's a 2nd generation seyunolu, so maybe the limitation only applies to first generation cases? ... couple of people maybe, but I find the evidence for that weak. On the other hand, it would sort of make sense. I think it's safe to assume that Nioi knows much more about dewitchery diamond than anyone else, maybe including Abraham.
  23. Story: Friday, April 1st 2016

? I'm not saying they don't have magic in their lineage. Pandora directly said it's part of Sarah's bloodline. I'm saying that having magic in bloodline is common enough for them to still be called ordinary. EDIT: On the other hand, Noah said innate talents are rare, so maybe they are NOT ordinary.
  24. ... Pandora Chaos Raven. But she's same gender, so ...
  25. NP, Monday April 4, 2016

Maybe "stale" is not the correct word. I was referring to what happens with water in ponds, when it's not flowing. Which also involves bacteria. This still leaves the question if it's because in Europe we didn't have tea or because alcohol from rice doesn't taste that good.
