  1. (Comment:) I though that every time Serenity crew needed to wash their clothes, they landed and string the wet clothes outside. Dex. To handle the "crazy" angle.
  2. Story: Friday, April 1st 2016

They are completely ordinary. Now think about it a little. THAT is the reason DGB works so hard to keep magic secret.

She looks good for her age then. She would be what, 36 now? On the other hand, if she's magical girl, why not? (If she's not Seyunolu, she's not Shade Tail alternate, but original Grace alternate.)
  4. Story: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

It was kinda already implied just after Grace's Birthday, when Susan was considering leaving her hair half blonde/half black and saw the blonde woman she found her dad with in the mirror, the title itself was "The other woman with Susan's face". It's entirely possible Susan's dad is her real dad but had been having flings with the blonde for several years, he might have got her pregnant, and she might have insisted that he "adopt" Susan. It may be cliche but doesn't mean it won't happen. There is hardly any non-cliche way to make twins not knowing about each other. ... why is Ellen's cooperation needed? It's not about affinity. It's the fact that every seyunolu can only use Uryuomn magic and not Earth one. ... wait. Except Noah, he seems to have some Earth magic abilities ... That's true, but it still seems suspicious that Raven have no idea this would be possible. Unless it was another Pandora's surprise ... If there would be family history of vampire hunting, the parent in question probably wouldn't be so surprised daughters are already in job. It will probably take some time before the mob will form. Perhaps Edward can get there and somehow cause it to disperse ... oh, wait, not his job anymore. That's a good point. Much of what Noah was doing could arguably be trained telekinesis, but there were some odd things, like the deepened shadows and the glowy note thing, that can't by as easily explained that way Not speaking about the summoned weapons. Or that Not-Tengu didn't planned to stay in Moperville.

The fact that fiber optic will be always better than wireless at transferring big amount of data doesn't depend on anything. Only method of transferring data which can compete in throughput is to fill several railway cars with tapes or disc ... and latency suck on that one. (Well ... or you can use lasers through air, but that works only in good weather and animal rights activists complains that you are blinding or in case of higher power disfiguring birds.) The price to get fiber optic to your house depends on lot of things, of course.
  6. Story: Friday, April 1st 2016

Yes, it makes perfect sense to explain it this way, and in any normal story other option wouldn't even occurred to anyone ... but this is EGS and Sarah got similar magic recently and we already have two families with hereditary magic ... it was little suspicious. And we like to speculate.

The part you quoted tried to explain how humans started drinking alcohol. The ones it not work for were using poppy heads. Before the kinds of poppy with usable content of opiates got banned. (... speaking about people finding something else to intoxicate themselves with ...) It is the oldest antiseptic known to man with big margin. And there are theories that the reason they were drinking wine in middle age was that it was healthier, because water could get stale.
  8. Story: 2016, April 4th (Monday)

It's not like they can actually fullfill their promise if multiple people would buy such plans. The capacity of wireless services is limited. If you use a lot of data, get fiber-optic.
  9. Story: 2016, April 4th (Monday)

Elliot was using Tedd's phone in that instance, which I would certainly believe has been properly configured by Edward or else he wouldn't feel comfortable discussing Elliot's sudden transformation and the bloodgrem. If Tedd's phone would be better for this kind of conversation, Elliot likely wouldn't mention leaving his phone home as a reason why he's using Tedd one. Or if he would, Edward would mention that it's good he forgot the phone home. And likely get him secure one afterwards. (Alternatively, the fact that noone ever cared about phone security since this strip may be explained by Edward doing something with ALL PHONES IN MOPERVILLE.)

... so police will not shot at you?
  11. NP, Monday April 4, 2016

We did. Hallucinogenic species of Psilocybe have a long history of use among the native peoples of Mesoamerica for religious communion, divination, and healing, from pre-Columbian times up to the present day. ... for example. While beer is pretty old, I would look more for mead ... and even more naturally fermented alcoholic stuff like overripe fruit. Considering animals eat it too, it can't be THAT bad. Interesting. When I look at the prohibition, it makes me think how dangerous needs the intoxicant be to warrant make it illegal. THC is not ingrained in our society as deeply as alcohol, but nevertheless, the black market and criminality resulting from the ban may be worse than making it legal. Or at least not criminal offence. Pity that it's not technically possible to make drinking legal but getting drunk illegal (or generally, force responsible usage of intoxicants).

Shoulda tried to reform them without doing the quests. I don't think she was supposed to reform them in first place. But I didn't played it, so ... can someone summarize what are the crooks about and what are you supposed to do when police attacks them?
  13. NP Friday March 25, 2016

Told? I suspect that they put aliens there because the lyrics of the very loud music on that concert which they mistook for part of the description.
  14. Story: 2016, April 4th (Monday)

Considering what they talk about over phones, I suspect that whole main eight have special phones with advanced security features from DGB. Paid by government. They ARE attracted when opposite gender ... The problem is that Data plans and Lore plans don't communicate with each other well. For maximum compatiblity, Susan would probably just go with the generic Soong-type plan. I suspect that Lore's plan is actually free because the owners of Data plans will paid for it.
  15. Story: Friday, April 1st 2016

Assuming Carol is a "magical girl reporter", she might not know it herself. She might not have anything to tell Sarah. So imagine Carol's surprise if Sarah tells *Carol* she has magic... ... good point. She may have some magic ability but not actually understood it, much less knowing it's magic.
  16. Sketchbook Tuesday April 5, 2016

It's not like she killed him. The defeat might actually be part of her training. But she would definitely need lot of training to be able to effectively use her telekinesis offensively. And even after that, she would still be more effective if using physical force (and claws). The things she does are technically magic (I like that definition). Doesn't change the fact that her options are limited. Well ... ok, Tedd MIGHT be able to make a TF gun looking as wand, which would provide her with nice ranged attack, but that's ONLY thing we know about that she can use. Human magic is much more versatile. It might be just a toy.

This actually supports my assumption. Even if you read fast, books generally last longer than alcohol bought by same money, and the ration can be much better in games (especially free ones ). If you interpret "dangerous" as "immediately live-threatening", it's certain. I was speaking about danger in more general sense, which is harder to compare. Considering how many people are drinking alcohol and for how long, the effect it have doesn't look THAT bad; for most illegal drugs we don't have nearly that much data. Although specifically marijuana is so obviously less dangerous it's starting to be legal in some US states ... and now imagine how much better would it be if you wouldn't smoke it.
  18. The posts are open on patreon ... why are they still not showing on tumblr?
  19. It's definitely Tedd to Tedd - no watches, so he must be using his mark spell. Actually ... it seems she's dancing. Wait, even the first frame looks little like dancing ... (imagining Tedd transforming back and forth to the rhythm of music ... hey, is he trying to make even bigger hole in ambient magic than Sarah?)
  20. It's good image, but I'm not sure why it's in pinups. Anyone else get the feeling that Akiko will learn about Nanase's having magic before Nanase ever gets around to talking to her mom about it? Wait, you think she still doesn't know? (I was mentioning in some thread the theory that Mrs. Kitsune is actually using Akiko to spy on Nanase, so not only Mrs. Kitsune but even Akiko knows more than Nanase think she does.) But even if she doesn't know already, I think she has lot of time, as Nanase is certainly not in hurry telling mom. Not sure how big shop Toy's-R-Us is, but maybe they bought it somewhere (and -when) where Cashier doesn't have time to thing about who is buying what, much less talk. Just like the magic abilities, the meddling gene is running in that family since the Age of the Gods (so at least since 7th century BC). ... speaking about it, do you think Nanase will tell Akiko she has magic before Akiko get her own?
  21. Elliot is there to swim. What, it's not REAL makeup, it's part of transformation, it's totally water resistant. POV? It's photo from Ashley's phone.
  22. I sort of thought that they didn't really tested multiple things at once, but maybe there is something to learn from combination. Or maybe Tedd is just saying "See, I told you it would be safer to test the effects separately". Totally agree. And most likely, the button will sacrifice itself and rest of shirt will be ok. How was the quote, "If you can remember 70s, you weren't really there"?
  23. Yeah, those are some...worryingly large hips. @_@ Are they? Or is it the waist which is worryingly thin? Not if you are from Tal Shiar. As a member of Tal Shiar, you can do even weirder (and more dangerous for the ship and its captain) things and noone will dare to protest.

i don't mean like 'every joke is funny' i mean everything; jokes, cars, faces, socks, the color blue, drawing on random things with a metallic sharpie... ... ok, that sounds like something some people need LSD for. I sort of assumed that the people who get drunk for fun are the ones who are unable to get the fun by reading books or playing video games. Which seems as good reason to drink in the "I drink to forget how bad my live is" sense ... (except, obviously, drinking to forget is not sustainable strategy - but that is first thing you forget when you drink). Still, there are worse drugs. But they are all illegal. In fact, I suspect even some illegal drugs are LESS dangerous than alcohol.
