There very obviously isn't: it would be more visible on EGS half of world. Unless Edward Verres is even better that he shown. Also, currency exchange? Modern currency is not easy to obtain without official, bureaucratically confirmed identity. Although ... sending some HUMAN through would definitely help.

I never thought about this, but you're right. I'm glad I live in a society where my pacifism has never truly been challenged. Enjoy it while it lasts. Looking at news, it may turn worse. Personally, I don't consider myself pacifist, but I'm still glad I live in a society where I'm not forced to prove the difference. In real life, there is a big gap between not being pacifist and actually being able to kill someone who is dangerous to you or others. (Although Samuel Colt did a lot to bridge it.)

Even if he wouldn't, I'm sure he need to abide by local agreement. Good point. I was going to object that if it was that long ago, she wouldn't remember now either, but that can be explainable by the stress ... It's definitely too funny to edit out, but on the other hand, yes, spending entire strip on it feels wasteful. We don't know what exactly was the immortal saying to her. It's possible she WAS careful enough, at least on beginning. We still don't know why aren't griffins more common on EGS half of world, or why did griffin go to do the investigation instead of human. It's possible they actually broke some kind of law or rule by coming here and Andrea only risked it because it was supposed to be very quick AND because it seemed important. That she would never go to EGS half of world normally, much less Tara.

In a programming language you can't suddenly decide to change the meaning of a key word. You can't change what the language considers as a scope limiter. They're ALL rigid in that you have to conform to the language specifications, or if you wish not to, then create a new version of the language / a new language outright. You can't just decide that the keyword "final" means "ironically final" or "actually first" (like for example what happened with "literally" or "awful" in English). You'd have to change the language definitions itself, and it would be a conscious, explicit change, which is not close to normal for how spoken and written languages change. You say they are rigid, but you speak about the fact that they change in discrete steps (called "versions"), whereas spoken languages changes continuously. (Also, yes, in most languages the change is more explicit.) ... and in most cases, the cat is completely superfluous, as the thing you pipe it's output to is already capable of reading files.

Well, being true pacifist IS hard. Any pacifist who think it isn't is spoiled by our civilization. Sooo ... how exactly would that strategy of "help them kill something while letting them get the actual "kill"" work? I mean, are those NPC competent enough to be able to actually kill the enemy when you help them?
-
Which programming language is absolutely rigid? At least some programming languages directly say what version of specifications they are supposed to be compiled with. You think there are parallels between spoken languages and this kind of intentionally obscure and hard to program in languages?

Soooo ... Andrea is bad at navigation and Tara forgot important knowledge about place she's traveling to. I would blame that on their bird brains, but humans didn't shown to be that much better in remembering stuff either. (I don't remember ever forgetting something as important - wait a sec ... ). The "significant part of the story could have been avoided if someone had just remembered something they'd already been told" happens very often, but usually it's because scenarists (or writers) forget too.

Yeah, I only see the friendship. But were they to go beyond that, they would be a cute couple, I could see. I merely very much doubt it'd ever happen. ... this way we won't win the price for most-shipping fandom ... (For record, I agree with Matoyak here ... but that page was so obvious ship-tease it can't be ignored. Even if Dan actually didn't do it deliberately.)

Battlefield Earth? Actually, SW Ep1 didn't even make it on List of worst movies ever made ... which shows how bad a movie must be to get to such list. Also ... one of the most cited problem is Jar Jar. But are you sure he is that universally hated? I mean, the audience around 5 years of age might like him! (In fact, he might be in the movie to distract all five year old advisers from spotting the plot holes.)

You still thinks small (or, actually, big - but there are more problems the smaller scale you think about). What about this: what exactly will happen to the electrical signal transferring information about say moving left rear leg while the nerve it moves on changes diameter and length? Will the number of sodium and potassium ions transmitting the charge change? Note that the boar attacking Rhoda didn't trip: it continued to move as if nothing happened, until it actually SAW that the world got (relatively) smaller.

Well it definitely matches the idea that the courier had brain damage resulting in personality shift as a result of the injury (as someone mentioned on twitter if I remember correctly).

I disagree. It's true that 3,9 and 10 weren't as good as 2,4,6, but they were nowhere as bad as 5, 11 or 12, while there are issues with 8 making it worse than 2,4,6 (Susan pointed out the problem herself) but still better than 1 or 10. Also, when comparing with Star Wars, they were also nowhere near as bad as episode 1.

Switch to source mode. THAT is black-on-white. Square-cube law doesn't really differentiate between short-term and long-term, because it's about the animal EVOLVING into such size. If you actually change the size of animal, there are WORSE problems in how you do that. Luckily, magic can take care of that too.

I think she is looking at Ashley if she has same reaction to the conversation as she has. You would be surprised how good in grammar can average roman citizen get if bad grammar brings the risk he will be labelled barbarian. Romans were proud people. Do you also thinks Charlottle might not apologize if not for the "get a life"? ... 1) As if they could say anything which could stop such ship. 2) It already launched.

They should tell Edward. He is much likely to correctly determine how to relay the information even IF there is a mole in the organization. But ... perhaps the combination of vampires keeping low profile and immortals quickly finding them meant that there wasn't need to suppress anything.

It's true that Tedd knew both Nanase and Susan (or at least ABOUT Susan) but he didn't really talked with either. Similarly, Nanase knew Susan, but seems they didn't regularly talked. So, in my opinion, Nanase first get to know Sarah as Elliot's girlfriend before she found that she has been friend with Susan for some time - similarly how Elliot knew Nanase but didn't know she and Tedd knows each other. We have CONFIRMED that Sarah didn't knew Nanase as Susan's friend - hence "Did everyone meet this girl before I did"? (Also, Elliot knew Carol yet didn't recognized her, though that's little different case.)

If they would be like animals, they wouldn't be doing anything else than hunting for prey. Well, I mean, animals also reproduce, but it doesn't seem vampires do. If vampires do anything else except hunting, it will be between people OR using people stuff. Maybe they are chatting over Internet like Not-tengu, but then they need to pay for connection and electricity (don't need to look human for either).

It isn't only thing which is completely legal and normal but classified as illegal performance enhancement in professional sport. Seems that the pressure to cheat is just too big. I mean, you can't say it's just panic if they really catches someone cheating from time to time even on higher levels. Well ... it's this or directly breaking law. Or do you have any other idea how to use invisibility without breaking law? (Not necessary for crime.) Actually, the best legal usage of invisibility is if you have BOTH superpowers, so you can use invisibility to fly without attracting attention. (Both flying and invisibility are the kind of powers which gets lot less attractive when you actually think about how could you use them in everyday life.)

How, exactly? Star Wars have six movies. Star Trek also have some movies, but we can omit them from computation just to make it simpler. (Sure, there are Clone wars, but even with them Star Wars is shorter - AND we have no indication that Grace watched them either.) There is a slight possibility Elliot did NOT literally watched every episode twice.
-
We, yes. But despite Nanase knowing Susan before Sarah, she likely knew Elliot even sooner AND she might not be aware who are Susan's friends before the main eight formed. Remember that Susan and Sarah visits the other school.
-
To be fair, Star Trek is bigger than Star Wars. Grace might not watched all off it and still spent more time on it than on Star Wars.
-
I don't think there will be any troubles in direct organized attack. I'm pretty sure that Tara has area-effect spells, Nanase's guardian form will be much more effective against organized attack because she can finish multiple vampires before she consumes all available energy and Grace is more likely to be able to actually fight if the danger is more obvious. So, only 20 vampires against main 8 + 2 griffins doesn't seem that dangerous. What would be dangerous is the divide et impera scenario: if everyone would be attacked by two vampires at same time but different place. But that would only happen if main eight as a group are actually primary target, which currently doesn't seem likely.

In most human societies, the rules are NOT followed to the letter either, especially in the "Nemo iudex sine actor" cases (there is no judge without the prosecutor - or how you translate it). Beware: they may not be ABLE to directly act against her until she breaks the law - it would mean THEY break the law, which could give Pandora advantage. (I mean, it would be different law than the "empower and guide" one, but it seems extremely likely there IS law against direct attack.)

I find hard to believe Mamase would approve what Helena and Demetrius did in France, especially considering she certainly had better options. Although, it IS possible that she contacted them without knowing what they do (it is also possible, although unlikely, that SHE is the reason they died improperly). The fact Tedd and Grace lives in same bed house is potentially dangerous information and Nanase is unlikely to tell it deliberately. She might let it slip, of course ... Not sure why would Sarah be described as Susan's friend. But it's funny that Sarah might be described in ways which makes hard to connect it's the same person. Wait. "Tedd's new lab assistant" is another thing which is unlikely to be shared outside the circle, given that almost everything regarding Tedd's lab is not only secret, but actual national security's top secret.

As much as it probably pains him, he might have offered a bounty out of the billions he's embezzled. Of course if the idea is to use them as cannon fodder, then he's probably not worried about following through with any payments. And of course this depends on whether vampires still have a need to blend in with the general population and thus need money. ... hmmm, that could work.
