  1. Story Monday May 15, 2017

You'll note that I list Captain Jack as the very definition of "Omnisexual". Maybe that definition should be expanded to say "One who cares little about the genders, races and species of those involved, as long as all involved are having a good time." Hmm...also sounds a bit like Ford Prefect as well...

Now I want to know if the expression on the mama cat's face was "Ahem! Child support! Naow!"
  3. Story Monday May 15, 2017

In that case the person involved is probably bi or omnisexual. Being attracted to everyone means you would value the "style" more than the "who" involved. My argument is more about the ability of a non-sentient lifeform to consent to a human's advances, not the other way around.
  4. Story Monday May 15, 2017

Yeah, people attracted to non-sentient forms (animals) was a level I was trying to avoid myself. It brings up a lot of squick to me. Mostly due to reasons of consent. You may have noticed by my avatar that I am a large fan of Ranma 1/2. I've read both the anime and the manga. In one storyarc in the manga, there is a tribe of people called The Musk that live near Jusenkyo and for generations reproduced by defeating an animal, dunking it in the Spring of Drowned Girl, and "taking it as a wife"...mating with it. Now, I was HORRIFIED by this information in the arc when I read it, and I had to mull on it to find all the reasons. The Musk were beating up animals, forcing it's form (and gender) into one pleasing to The Musk, sealing it in said form, then raping it until it was pregnant. And that's the dirty word at the end there. There was no consent in any of this. And that my issue with humans being attracted to non-sentients. Because animals cannot consent, it squicks me out and I don't like to talk about it.

No, what Dan seems to be leaving vague is if he was always that way, or if he's adapted due to being able to switch genders. And fetishes are a WHOLE different axis. Because if a person likes a fetish, they'd prefer to share it with the genderform(s) they are attracted to. They aren't mutually exclusive. Also, you can have more than one, making it harder to "scale".
  6. Story Monday May 15, 2017

I have issues with the Kinsey scale when it comes to gender-changing individuals, as it uses terms like "heterosexual" and "homosexual" to express the difference in preferences, taking no account for people with variable gender identities. In fact, if one recalls my post from last week, I have issues with those terms overall. Thus, I have redefined them and created new ones for gender fluid individuals. YES, THIS KINDS OF THING KEEPS ME AWAKE NIGHTS! So without further ado: Ran-san's new sexual preference dictionary for dualgender, multigender, and gender-fluid individuals: androsexual - One who is sexually attracted to the male genderform regardless of one's own gender. asexual - One who is not sexually attracted to any genderform, regardless of one's own gender bisexual - One who is sexually attracted to both the male and female form. (this definition hasn't changed much from the original) gynosexual - One who is sexually attracted to the female genderform regardless of one's own gender. heterosexual - One who is sexually attracted to the opposite genderform from their current one. homosexual - One who is sexually attracted to the same genderform as their current one. omnisexual - One who is sexually attracted to any and all genderforms and variations therein. SEE: Harkness, Captain Jack XXXXsexual - One who is sexually attracted to a specific individual, regardless of both that person's and their own current genderform. (i.e. "Teddsexual", "Ranmasexual", etc.) Now, if someone could make a Kinsey Scale to accompany THAT, I'd be impressed. And by the way. This comic pretty much states that Elliot is bisexual with a strong gynosexual leaning in either form.

I don't know if there's a term either, but you are definitely not alone. I'm the same way, but in my case it's more "If I was to suddenly somehow become fully female, then for me to feel comfortable, my life partner would have to be male." It's very hard for me to describe some of these terms as we simply don't have the terms for them. We used to have two gender identities (male and female) and four sexual identities (hetero, homo, bi, and a). Then "trans" got added into the mix on both sides, and gender fluidity (which doesn't have a nice greek prefix, so already making things tough), so now it's a veritable 31 flavors of typecasting. And I believe some of the terms we use are wrong. I consider myself heterosexual. I desire a mate of the opposite gender identity to my own. Now "opposite" may no longer be the correct term for it, but I don't have a better so bear with me. While I am not homophobic, and have no issues with others being in a homosexual relationship, I find the thought of myself personally in such a relationship nauseating. It is simply not my thing. I am also fairly gender fluid. So, as I lie awake at night, I wonder what my life would be like if I were female, either retroactively, or via transformation (Transgender Ray, wish, Jusenkyo, etc) and what I would do. The first thing I realized is that the same rules govern me. I've never been one to have the "lesbians are hot" mentality...it never interested me. I realized that the thought of myself personally in a lesbian relationship also disgusted me. Again, no issues with other people in such relationships, but it's just...not my thing. So with that thought, I imagined myself as a girl in a relationship with a guy, and that excited me. It felt right...as right as guy me in a relationship with a girl. So, I thus consider myself a "true" or "full" (take your pick) heterosexual. Finally, my gender fluidity has a male leaning. I recognize that I am physically male, and do not seek to actively correct that. And fortunately for me, I have a (very understanding) girlfriend. So that's me. A male-leaning gender-fluid full-heterosexual. There! I think I found a label! Give me enough time to ramble on long enough, and I can eventually find anything!
