Pharaoh RutinTutin replied to Illjwamh's topic in Comic Discussion
It is hard to say Dwight has strong convictions because they have probably never been tested. He would just repeat what his parents, teachers & superior officers said & they would call him a "Good Boy" Even so, it is ego crushing when you must admit being wrong to yourself. But don't worry about Dwight's ego. Soon enough he will rationalize it with something like "the exception to the rule" or "if she's not a threat to us, she must be a traitor to her own kind". And yes, Dwight, there were reasons for placing restrictions on the Uryuoms. In the immediate aftermath of the war thousands of years ago there were reasons. Once the dust settled, any reason not reevaluated eventually became just an excuse -
Things That Are Just Annoying

The frustrating thing is that while most people have about a 24 hour cycle, very few are exactly 24 hours. 22 - 26 hr cyc les are common. Teens to 30s are not unknown- 2,852 replies

Are you suggesting that a significant portion of programming language problems stem from apathy or laziness on the part of the programmers?

Ashley is right. Grace is smart. But her unusual childhood left her lacking in some social skills She has gotten better But depending on how Ashley portrays this "obliviousness"? This could go places where we already have been -
https://www.egscomics.com/comic/balance-153 I am so grateful that never has one group of humans looked at another group of people, only to have the first group tell themselves stories about the second group where the details are so exaggerated and the facts taken so far out of context that it might as well be fiction. And then have the first group use their own fiction as justification for doing horrible things to the second group. Yes it is wonderful that humans have never engaged in such reprehensible behavior. - - - - - - - - - - - - - I am wondering who, among the official librarians, historian, and archivists of the ruling Griffons, would have access to the details that could undermine the official position?

Your Human probably got the jerk at the table to go all in whilst he held a straight flush.

The various types of Sphinx are subjects with which I am somewhat familliar. The Sphinx Oedipus met was pretty good at turning travelers into corpses. -
One interresting point is that the conflict from thousands of years ago is spoken of as if it happened last week. Is it possible that the same government & rulling caste has steadily dominated their entire world ever since? If the rulers don't change, there is no need to reexamine or rewrite the myths & legends that justify their right to rule. If the Uryuom conflict was the event that cleared the previous board & set the pieces upon which the statup quo is currently built, then it is in the current rulers' interest to have every one learn their version of that war's battles, generals & martyers. Everything after that can be glossed over.

As opposed to the C people. The kids in school who did the absolute minimum to pass.

The easy way to check if somone is lying doesn't work on one section of the population. So rather than verify evidence & witnesses, just assume they are all liars. A most enlightened judicial philosophy

Moperville Memorial Hospital recorded a surge in births begining 9 months after Grace arrived in town. It has not yet returned to the pre Grace normal -
So Edward's glasses, unlike Tedd's, are primarily for the traditional function And so far, every Uryuom we have met on "our" side of the world has seemed mostly harmless. I am wondering just how far back this tech ban goes. And how is it related to the magic ban, which was undone in the not-change. If Uryuoms have a significant and open population on the Griffon's side, I am wondering what kind of tech exists among those who are neither Uryuom nor magic using. Are they living in a perpetual Renaissance Fair? To some degree aware that a world of tech is accessible, but pretending it does not exist because small-pox and serfdom are so much fun. She and her compatriots should get down to business They couldn't be any worse than the humans nominally in charge now

I had not considered this previously Edward, like Cyclops of the X-Men, wears his glasses to hold his power in check Maybe when all this is done, Edward will be able to keep his eyes fully open long enough to see how he has been unintentionally hurting Tedd?

The weather is often clear for most of the day But the brief T-storms we regularly receive keep it from being completely dry at any outside point for 48 consecutive hours My grandmother used to claim she could set her clock by the rain that would fall at 4:00 pm every day It hasn't been that regular since I've moved here, but the rain is still frequent

Over the last two months, my park has been seal coating all the asphalt drive ways Now there is just one small section left, the main entrance drive and about half of the office parking lot I asked the manager when this was going to be finished. She told me when the asphalt company could be sure of three days without rain, to allow for drying between coats. Three days with no chance of rain? This Is FLORIDA. Apparently this job will NEVER be done

Reminds me of the Tates Compass This legendary traveler's aid is an apparently ordinary magnetic compass of good quality that has the remarkable feature of being able to point in ANY direction EXCEPT due north or the way the traveler should go. Despite this inconvenience, those who hold the Compass from Tates will believe it over any and all contradictory directional information. Thus the infamous company slogan. He Who Has A Tates Is Lost.

Does Ashley have a "Crush Sense" that lets her know when one person has a strong, and probably unrequited, interest in another? -
Is this an accurate translation? I didn't think Cats knew the concept of "Sorry"
