Tedd, like George, tends to bog down in the details. I think he's right, though, he was not just a rando, he has an observed track record of solving magical issues, specifically noticed by Arthur.

So much fun can be found when you are not allowed to directly say what you mean.  Does the job do that to the people who work there, or are people like that attracted to the job?

Is this the first time Tedd has referred to herself as "she" & "girl" in the comic?

I'm not sure whether it is or not, but if it is, I'm sure it's only because opportunities to refer to oneself by pronouns other than "I" or "we" are rare (unless one is in the habit of talking about oneself in third person).
