Mist missed.

Their concept of Royalty on the EGS side is way off. High jinks would ensue, but these guys are not about humor. A three ingredient hot mess.

Mist is slightly sympathetic. I expect he will turncoat on the other two. <shrug> It will take a long time to get there, if it happens. In our world, it will take a loooong time.

This is my understanding: only Mist can see the Royalty aura, Saou is there to receive the aura transfer, and Potestas is a body guard for Saou.

I get the impression that the audience has incomplete info, and the three wise guys are relying on incorrect info.

We in the peanut gallary will need to wait.  But for straw, stick & stone? Was it just a series of their own mistakes or has somone set them up to fail?

My understanding is that they are trying to create non-human Royals (specifically Uryuom or part-Uryuom ones) in order to create a rival locus of high-level magical power to break Human hegemony. Idealists like Mist would say that they are doing it for the benefit of Uryuoms and Seyunolu in general, but I suspect that Saou himself is likely in it for the personal empowerment.
