Giant bore is Donald Trump. You mean giant boar.

Those rabbits seem too small relative to the other critters. it is a cute picture.

It's my head canon that Hope had the "Tranquility" spell and that she taught Jay how to cast it.

Ah, that makes sense.

Also, I need that right now.

I dreamed I had a fluffy animal spell last night.  I was somewhat disappointed to wake up and find I only had one fluffy animal in bed with me.

I hope it was explorer, not a stray raccoon. They are often rabies vectors.

(Really hope it was not a drop bear. Good news, they are not native to Kansas!)

Yes, it was Explorer.  That only "native" critter that is in the house (I think) is either a very noisy mouse or fairly quiet squirrel in the attic.  About every other day, we hear skittering.  Explorer gets very excited by this and runs from one end of the house to the other, jumping up on the high spots.

Thank you. "He's got squirrels in the attic" is a phrase I now intend to make use of.

Yes. I don't recommend reading even the synopsis of that book.

Beats Flowers In The Attic.

Squirrels can generally take out most flowers, when motivated to do so.

Squirrel are more dangerous to the US electrical grid than terrorists.

Quote

John C. Inglis, the former deputy director of the U.S. National Security Agency, said in 2015 that he judged the electrical grid was as likely to be paralyzed by a natural disaster as by a cyberattack and added: "[F]rankly, the No. 1 threat experienced to date by the U.S. electrical grid is squirrels.

On the flip side, they generally only do it once each, because toasted squirrel. Unfortunately, there are plenty more squirrels.

They do a lot of damage in attics as well.

That's one reason I'm hoping it's noisy mice.  Haven't hear them in a while.

Some what more intense than "Lights on, no body home", but not as intense as "bats in the belfry".

'bats in the belfry' is a classic, which also means it's old, which can mean and in this case does mean it's well on its way to being archaic. I have heard people use the expression, the first time I was quite young, and asked what it meant. The person that said it was quite old. In any case, it is no longer common, although I think most folks know what it means. I could well be wrong about that.

One of the problems with this is the term 'belfrey'. Back in the day, the bells were integral to the social functions of the town. We now have watches and cell phones and alarm clocks, and while bells remain, they are not though of as a necessary feature; so the standing of the term for the minor structure that houses them has fallen out of use. Think about it, how often have you used the word 'belfrey' out of the context of the phrase 'bat in the belfrey'.

Many modern belfreys no longer contain bells, they now are likely to have an electronically synthesized bell set. I've also seen many newer churches forgo bells altogether.

So, if you use 'bats in the belfrey', be prepared to have to explain yourself.

Now 'bats in the attic' could be a thing. That's not an uncommon occurance.
