I'm going by the third panel showing Magus being pushed into Elliot's body, one would expect Elliot to be growing boobs at that point right?
  2. Computer General Discussion and Tech Help

I can't remember, is it still a thing to need a swap file that's 1.5x larger than the amount of RAM you have? Though I do remember when I had Windows 7, there was a time when it would hang for a moment while loading the desktop. Reinstalling Windows worked for a little while, but then it started bluescreening. I forget the error code it threw at me but the gist of it was that the hard drive was failing, it was an old drive though so it was probably expected. I dunno if that would be the case here though.

That feels too much like the opposite of Elliot and Nanase's relationship though. The whole duel between Terra and Magus feels like they're trying to have fun with it, and it wouldn't bee the first time Dan's had characters act that way for fun, first obvious one was Elliot and Nanase, but we also have Grace and Tedd with the TFG, well Grace tried to be dramatic about it. Thing is, we don't see Terra gloating over Magus' disappearance, and we don't see Magus cursing Terra specifically either, (yes he knows he was sabotaged, but he doesn't state any belief that Terra was responsible for it) In fact if anything is opposite in the Elliot/Nanase vs Magus/Terra department, it's the personalities, Terra is more like Elliot in that she was probably afraid of hurting someone with her power, and Magus is more like Nanase and was pushing Terra to not hold back. Who knows what would have happened if Greg didn't intervene (and break down) during Elliot and Nanase's demonstration. If Magus wants to be a woman, why didn't the FV5 beam not turn Elliot into a female? We all assumed that if Ellen ever did zap Elliot then Magus would end up being female even after touching the diamond, but that doesn't appear to be the case anymore, so why? Pandora jerked Magus around during their time together, which contributed to Magus' frustration, Magus has some morals as he refused to make Edward kill Abraham despite the possibility of Abraham getting in the way again later. And Magus also went to Sirleck aware that it was a bad decision but that he didn't have any other choice since he couldn't trust any Immortal to genuinely want to help him.

Well obviously you noticed because you were NOT distracted by her bust size. Although I think it's just optical illusion. The color of those shorts is not so different than her skin color ... That or Dan make mistake coloring, definitely not deliberate. Actually, now that I look at it (not for the same reason Cpt. Obvious was, of course) It does look like Dan started drawing the "leg" of the shorts at the top of Rhoda's right leg, but forgot to continue the line past Ashley's knee.

It looks like it took place in an EMPTY stadium, suggesting they were sparing after time. However, it still seems like he tried to cheat. What if using that potion wasn't cheating though, what if before the match Magus went to Terra was said "Hey, I just got this new defence potion recipe! wanna test it out?" and it turned out the recipe wasn't for a defence potion after all. Magus did say he was an alchemist too (he even claimed to know how to turn straw into gold). Because he's admitting he may prefer men when in woman form? I mean, considering the hypothesis HE's Elliot ... Maybe not even just in woman form. Maybe he's homosexual. I took the whole thing as him speaking that way out of frustration over not being able to do anything. Maybe Magus knows someone in his world that's like Nanase, but male.

We don't know that Magus was a total jerk. His predicament certainly makes him desperate, but we've no evidence that he was not a nice guy before getting stuck in limbo. The wizards duel between Magus and Terra before hand still strikes me as very similar to Elliot and Nanase's sparring matches, and their dialog was strictly for dramatic effect.
  8. Story, Friday November 10, 2017

I thought it was more like someone wanted him gone rather than just a prank, his disappearance took Terra by surprise so it wasn't her doing.
  9. Story, Friday November 10, 2017

I don't think it was, she just happened to notice his arrival and though she'd have some fun. I think she'd be more regretful about the way she left him though.

Using Ellen? How? Sirleck's next move is to possess Magus-merged-with-Elliot. Sirleck probably considers Ashley to not be any threat to him. Since we already have clear evidence that Sirleck can use his host's abilities, jumping to Magus/Elliot now would give him access to those abilities, which would make him a formidable opponent. Ashley would be wise to try to get warning to someone (Nanase, Susan, Sarah, Tedd?). My guess is when Sirleck takes off after possessing Magus/Elliot, Ashley will rush over to Ellen to see if she's ok and then probably use Ellen's cellphone to contact someone. Speaking of magic though, it's probably correct to assume that Magus is able to use his abilities while in Elliot's body, whether he also can use Elliot's abilities as well is another thing but it might be possible, the question would be whether Magus can access Elliot's knowledge which would seem to be how Sirleck is able to use Ellen's abilities. I don't think that's the case. We only see him because Dan wants us to know he's there, but to other characters, he's on another plane of existence, Magus saw Sirleck because he shared that plane for a while, I'm betting now that Magus is in the physical realm, he does not see Sirleck anymore and wouldn't see him swoop in too take possession. When Sirleck took possession of the butler, we saw Sirleck behind him, but there was no indication that the butler was aware that he was about to be hijacked.
  11. http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=2420 Oooh boy... ... Wait a moment... Sirleck has possessed her, hasn't he?
  12. Story, Friday November 10, 2017

Not yet. No sign of whether this duplicated Elliot's body with one having Magusin control, or what. I'm not even sure what will happen next though, since Sirleck has already taken possession of Ellen, there's nothing stopping him from just jumping to Magus while still in Elliot's body. Ashley's may intervene somehow, but Ellen may be out of it for a while. I think Tedd's likely going to put his guantlet to use in order to separate Sirleck from Magus/Elliot, and then take them to the diamond to separate Magus from Elliot.
  13. I remember there was a video about a lowbie player trying to PVP a level 60 back in the day, the level 60 thought they were safe and went AFK for a bit, they returned just in time to see the lowbie finally make the killing blow.
  14. Story, Wednesday November 8, 2017

Magus has to be between Ellen and Elliot. Nanase is not part of the equation. Yeah, that's a given. Are you sure? If Sirleck can possess and release without killing the host then it Magus might begrudgingly allow it. Magus would have to know that Sirleck would be possessing Ellen to make her zap Elliot and that he'd have to be ready for it. Let's see, if Helena and Demetrius are being distracted, Jerry2.0's watching Susan and Diane, Pandora's probably distracted by other things as well, and Voltaire's probably getting popcorn ready for watching crap hit the fan at that mall. I honestly don't think this would be an appropriate time for Hanma's canon debut. So who would intervene? What do you mean by "interested", yes Pandora know's about Magus trying to get Ellen to zap Elliot, but she had know clue that it's happening right now, when she worried about Tedd's wand being used as a substitute for Ellen, she decided not to say anything because she didn't think it'd be relevant, she was being complacent thinking that Magus was still bumbling around trying to figure out how to get back into the physical realm. That's not guaranteed to work though, the previous time Magus tried to amplify Ellen's urge to zap Elliot, she resisted it enough to redirect the beam to hit Tedd instead. Also, this is probably several hours of manipulating Ellen here, from her sudden change of story at school,"Elliot and Ashley are doing the movie night thing in our room" to "Turns out they're going out tonight after all" even though Elliot and Ashley didn't go out and never even mentioned changing plans, meant Ellen's story was a lie. Why would she lie to Nanase about Elliot needing the car. No amount of emotional amplification could make her do that, so the only option would be possession.
  15. Story, Wednesday November 8, 2017

Sirleck had already lured a number of abberations to Moperville with the hope that Helena and Demetrius would be distracted at the same moment Ellen and Elliot were together and Magus could get Ellen to zap Elliot. When Abner originally called to say that Helena and Demetrius were getting distracted as planned, that was just confirmation. When Voltaire called after and impersonated Abner to leave the tip about Adrian, Sirleck pulled out all the stops to make certain that Helena and Demetrius were sufficiently distracted.
  16. Story, Wednesday November 8, 2017

It makes sense though, if Sirleck wants to possess Magus, he'd have to be close enough to make the jump when Magus got a physical body again, so Sirleck possesses Ellen, zaps Elliot which allows Magus to possess him, then the two of them go to the Diamond together.
  17. Story, Wednesday November 8, 2017

Ok, so while we didn't see it happen, it's quite possible that Sirleck had jumped from the butler to Francine the janitor, then followed Ellen into the bathroom at school and jumped to her there, leaving Francine unconscious (but alive so there's hope for Ellen to survive this). Ellen, under possession of Sirleck lies to Nanase about the "inhuman voyeur at the college", Nanase is currently waiting for Ellen to get dropped off, but I'm betting Elliot hadn't seen Ellen since the morning so has no clue that he should be driving Ellen anywhere, he might have even assumed that Ellen went straight to Nanase's after school or something.
  18. Story Monday November 6, 2017

Dan did mention in the commentary of the Really Big Couch that Susan "might have a new fancy sofa if and when we revisit this location in the future." He also added " I’m thinking one of those fancy huge sofas with 90 degree turns and whatnot." but considering Dan did that commentary in 2015 (it doesn't say so on that page in particular but a few pages earlier states the date and adds that following commentaries will have been posted on the same date unless stated otherwise.) and Elliot's visit to Susan's was in 2013, Dan either forgot he had already given her a standard looking couch or the fancy new one is in a different room still waiting to be revealed. There was nothing mentioned in the commentary that Susan was 5"6' when talking about Elliot's transformed height: " Elliot's form in this comic is essentially just his female form (which is essentially Ellen with a different hair style), only proportioned differently so as to fit a height of 6' 3", AKA about five inches taller than Elliot normally is. And about seven inches taller than Susan, but that's all the height comparisons I'm going to list. " Elliot being 6'3" and 7 inches taller than Susan would make Susan 5'8".
  19. Story Monday November 6, 2017

Going through the archives again, Elliot and Susan initially watched movies at Susan's house, note the style of couch and the side table (no visible lamps either). But then when they get around to doing their first review, different couch, different side tables (with lamps). There's no mention of it being at Elliot's so my assumption was "well, Susan does live in a big house, there probably is several rooms with couches, they could have watched movies in one room, and recorded the review in another". As for editing the reviews, we do know Sarah helped with one, though uncertain if she regularly edits them. I can also see the editing and uploading being done from Tedd's computer, he'd likely have a very good computer and Edward probably getting very good internet either through the government or just pays for the best service. And as for Mrs Pompoms softening her attitude, Elliot has been in the house, so she must be aware (or Susan's been keeping it from her which I doubt) I don't think Susan would have gone with the "he's gay" excuse a second time either, so maybe Mrs Pompom is aware that Susan's made male friends and might even be relieved that Susan no longer on the path of becoming cynical about men like she is? Again I can't be certain what Susan's mom thinks at this time because we've only had the 1 instance of her very early on and to use Mama Kitsune as an example, her attitude toward's Nanase dating Ellen seems to have softened quite a bit over time so that could be the case with Susan's mom, it's uncertain.
  20. Things That Are Just Annoying

I thought it was limestone that was used to cover the pyramids, rather than marble.
  21. Griffins are awesome

There is strip Scrabble (at least in Tedd's fantasies).
  22. Story Monday November 6, 2017

I thought the same thing, I would have figured it'd be easier for Susan to not have to carry the equipment to Elliot's, unless Elliot already had a decent camera and computer for shooting and editing the videos. Maybe the inhuman voyuer was a false alarm? Or they solved it that quickly. Or maybe there's something that Ellen needed to get from home to help solve it? Or maybe the inhuman voyeur stuff was Ellen coming up with an excuse to go somewhere else so that Nanase didn't feel like she was on a double date with her ex (which I still think is a silly thing to be hung up on since she did go on a double date with her cousin). Also, should probably note that Ellen does not make her bed.
  23. Trouble is, people who aren't Patreon patrons wouldn't know to look for an older post about the same image. If the original poster about that image were to edit the title of the post to reflect its appearing in Sketchbook as well, that might work, but otherwise, it's asking a lot to expect non-Patreon readers to know to (and bother to) look back through a bunch of previous posts to see if each Sketchbook post had appeared somewhere else before. That would be more relevant if the image actually required to be Patreon patron to see. It is on Patreon, but it was visible to everyone the moment the thread was created. It would also be relevant if someone would ever try to search for older discussions, but I don't think that is happening and if it is it's already very hard. Mainly because the discussion thread is not linked from specific comics itself AND lacks own "prev" and "next" links and links to starts of chapters. (On the other hand, at least comments are rarely needed to understand the comics ; on drowtales, the navigation is just as hard, despite the forum being official forum - meaning, the forum is linked, but not individual threads - and every thread starts with comment from author which is OFTEN explaining something not visible from comics itself.) I agree with the idea that the original poster should've updated the post, though. It wouldn't in few cases, it would if this becomes usual. Case in point, we DON'T have separate threads for Patreon and for tumblr. ... which didn't happened. My train of thought on this was that the sketchbook posts were made a day after the Patreon posts, which as I said before, felt like it put it in the realm of double posting. If Dan ever got around to putting other Patreon milestone images that he considers tame (like vampire hunter Susan for instance) I can accept someone creating a new thread for that because posting a reaction in the original thread could be in the realm of necroposting. So it's really a timing thing. I did also mention in the Trick or Treat Pirate Grace patreon thread that Dan was planning on posting the image in the sketckbook section, and later Stature posted in that thread that it was now in the section, that would have been a good point to post the link as well.
