Been a while, hasn't it? Nintendo dropped their latest Direct and besides the expected Kirby update and Undertale confirmations, we got a few Splat Bombshells. First, the next Splatoon 2 update comes with a paid DLC which adds playable Octolings! That's right; not only can you go into multiplayer as one of the bad guy types, but you get a whole new story mode centered around playing as one! Second, SMASH BROS. FOR SWITCH FEATURING INKLINGS 2018! Now if only I had a Switch...

TheHeroesOfCRASH.com The three main takeaways I've seen. I'm hoping for the Mode 7 Ninja Turtles level. Starting 2020 off with a filler, due to continued holiday craziness. This comic was a bit of a rush job, as I fell asleep before it was done, but I decided to value promptness over perfection this time. Wish I'd drawn TM's bent leg better (so it was more obvious her foot was behind her and not look like she was missing a leg) & made BB's board light up more. I had to look at quite a few photos and sketches of 1920s outfits to find the look I wanted for TM, and add a few touches to add her own personal style to the look. I decided to give her a purple dress; in hindsight (2020!), it makes her look like Anne Onymous from The Wotch. Belt Boy's look is a futuristic mashup of his outfit and a Ninja Turtles design, since it's based on the Neon Night Riders level from the SNES game Turtles in Time, which took place in 2020. Just like Back to the Future, this game lied to us about having hoverboards by now. Cannon's plague doctor look is essentially a regular plague doctor with his color scheme and goggles... and an important message. Seriously, people, I don't care what side effects you believe vaccines have - THEY PREVENT DEATH. Trust science on this one. Hoping to have a new comic by next week. Until then, have a fun and safe new year/decade!

TheHeroesOfCRASH.com While I always strive to update my comic every single week, I tend to put some other aspects of my website on the back burner. No, I'm not talking about the Links pages - although I definitely AM working on adding some new sites to my Links - I mean my downloadable wallpapers. I find this particularly embarassing because most of my wallpapers have been prizes for my Annual Birthday Fan Art contest, and I tend to wait until the next contest comes around before I actually get around to creating the prize for the previous year. To be fair, it's usually because I try not to do too many filler updates in a row anymore, and I tend to have a few fillers around my birthday, but I still feel bad that I tend to make my contest winners wait. But that's in the past... Last year's winner has done enough waiting! CD Rudd, creator of SailorSun.Org (Check out my Links page for his site, along with a full description!), requested that I draw my characters doing whatever it is they do in their spare time. I decided that they do the same thing my friends and I do when we get together: eat pizza and play video games! I wanted to make sure all the characters looked interesting and dynamic; usually when you're playing games with friends, you're all sitting in the couch, controller in hand, and that's it. I decided to give everyone a different pose and a different controller (If Nintendo can make multiple controllers for a single console, so can I). Cannon - or rather, Dave - may not be wearing his big, clunky armor, but he does have a controller based off the N64 controller, but with his armor's color scheme (I'll bet it's one of those see-through controllers that I wish they still made. Also, Dave would totally rule at Mario Party, since his prosthetic hand can't get blisters from the Tug-of-War minigame). His pose is the most aggressive - albeit comedically so - of the three, which fits his personality quite well. Max may not be in his full Belt Boy gear, but he still wears his goggles (which just look cool) and his belt to help him snack without distractions (And yes, the design on his cup is based on a famous paper cup design, but with Belt Boy's uniform's red and blue hues). Max is holding a controller reminiscent of the classic SNES controller, even with its classic color scheme (The SNES was always one of my favorite consoles). Tiffany doesn't wear an outfit as Titanium Maiden; she just takes on the name, so she doesn't really have any costume change. The controllers are based of the Wii nunchucks, except they're two joined remotes without a joystick (and their color-scheme is based off another pizza-eating hero who uses nunchucks!), which shows off Tiffany's impressive biceps rather nicely. I've put some work into this background: look closely and you may notice that a photo in a wall frame offers a subtle homage to CD Rudd's comic (Those figures look a lot like Bay and Honey...), and that Tiffany forgot to use the wrist straps the first time they played. The gaming console looks like a GameCube and Wii mashed together, with dual cartridge slots on top reminiscent of one of those non-official consoles that are designed to play both NES and SNES games. I call this console the PlayTend Box 90 (Because it forms a 90-degree angle). I didn't intend for this to be any character's specific living room, but in hindsight, it does have Cannon's purple-and-green color scheme, so maybe this is at his house. This is my first wallpaper designed with phones/tablets in mind, which is why I centered the characters to appear on the screen even if the image is cropped. Still, I like how the scene looks as a whole, so I think it looks best on a tablet, or even centered on your PC. I hope you all enjoy it, especially you, CD (Sorry again for the long wait; I hope it was worth it)!

Ah, nooooo! Ten days after expiration... Why do I have to be lazy... Whatever. E3 reactions. ...I...didn't actually see the E3 presentations for anything other than Nintendo, but everyone's saying Microsoft and Sony lost badly to Nintendo. It went something like this: Microsoft: "Here's a better Xbox and some exclusives." Fans: *nods of being impressed* Sony: "Here's some good games that won't come out until next year." Fans: *nods of being impressed* Nintendo: "4" Fans: *standing ovation* So! What did those Japanese maniacs shell out this time? Xenoblade Chronicles 2 looks pretty neat. New Kirby game! Brings back the power-up combination mechanic from Kirby 64. Niiiiiiiiice! Also, four-player co-op is back. Pokken Tournament DX not enough? Well, they're making a core Pokemon game for the Switch! That's right; Pokemon gets a core game on a console! That enough for ya? One number: 4. Metroid Prime 4, to be specific. Hear that? That's the sound of Nintendo winning E3. With nothing but a logo. New Yoshi game! Arts and crafts this time. Cardboard and papercraft. Hidden secrets behind things in the background. Looks nice. Who's going to be in Fire Emblem Warriors? How about Marth from the original Fire Emblem, Chrom from FE: Awakening, and Corrin, Ryoma, and Xander from FE: Fates, on top of the new protagonists! Hyped yet? What does the Switch version of Skyrim have? Zelda gear. Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and Champion's Tunic confirmed. Fighting Alduin with the Master Sword? Awesome! We already knew much about the DLC packs. The new dungeon, Hard Mode, new armors, new pathfinding for the map, new enemy difficulty tier (dear Din, there are Gold Lynels now)... But here's something we didn't know: amiibo for the four Champions! Neat! They had some tournaments at E3 for Splatoon 2 and for ARMS. Great way to hype 'em up. Ever read that fanfiction where the Rabbids invade the Mario universe and team up with Mario and Mario gets a laser gun? Wait, that's not a fanfiction? It's a real thing? DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Wanna play Rocket League on the Switch but are worried there won't be enough players? Fear not! Cross-Platform Play! Use your Switch to play rocket-car-soccer against someone on their Xbox! If Nintendo didn't win E3 with Metroid Prime 4, they sure as heck won with Super Mario Odyssey and it's showstopping jazz number! Hats off to you, Nintendo, for being awesome. And that's not even getting into stuff they didn't show in the showcase, like the Metroid II remake, the Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga port, and a new game called Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido, plus the other new games they already revealed prior like Ever Oasis, Hey! Pikmin, and Miitopia.

A thread for discussion of video games. The previous thread expired, you see. So, my brother downloaded The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Wii U. And do you wanna know what happened? First of all, you can still cut grass, and you can still break pots. Sold. Second: One of the first powers you get is the Magnesis Rune, which lets you lift metal objects remotely. My brother used it to clear out an enemy camp by smacking them with a metal box a bunch! It was hilarious! Third: When we finally got off the starting area, we saw foxes running around! We can totally ignore the story and go fox hunting if we want! And now, a few things hidden under spoilers. If you want to play the game blind, stay away. ======== Story Spoiler: ======== Boss Spoiler: To summarize: do the water boss last, not because it's frustrating, but because it's awesome. ======== Musical Reference Spoilers:

http://www.egscomics.com/egsnp.php?id=486 I think the game has different definition of "stealth" than is normal. But if it's fun ... Also, apparently, different definition of "nailed down". Grace left the cyborg hand and the test tubes there. And even microscope.
