  1. Story Wednesday June 14, 2017

She wasn't just napping, she spent a fair bit of the day watching Sarah attempt to figure out how cast the mark spell she got, and then later that night talked to Sarah about it. She probably knew about Catalina's affinity a for a while before the events of Marker and Escape, her "the universe is taunting me" sounds like Pandora had refused to mark Catalina before just out of principle because of Pandora's dislike of Name Based Affinities, but now that she's lacking in decent marking options, suddenly here's Catalina again, and so Pandora grudgingly gave in and marked her. What he said... I don't think that because your parent or other relative is a mage or wizard, that you're guaranteed to follow as one. It was said that being a wizard is a distinction you are born with, so that sounds like it could be a genetic thing, maybe it follows the same dominant/recessive rules that other traits follow. Noriko and Edward are wizards and they assumed that Tedd would be as well, but apparently both had a recessive gene or mutation which caused Tedd to be born a Seer instead. Nanase might have ended up getting the mage recessive genes from her parents, or maybe Mama or Papa Kitsune had mage as the dominant gene that got passed to Nanase.

Well, we know Rhoda's spell has side effects when used on food.
  3. Story, Friday June 16, 2017

Based on Jerry saying he'd be out of commission for a few weeks, it makes me wonder if Immortals spend that time essentially like a fetus in a mother's womb, except they are born fully developed looking like 16-20 year olds rather than babies and having at least all the essential skills and knowledge that a teenager would have. Pandora looking younger, likely just has to do with her choice in looking like how she feels at any particular moment, we saw during her discussion with Disco Wizard, she went from adult, to child, then to teenager and back to adult and each time there was a personality shift that reflected it. One would thing that because of "Box's" behaviour now, she shouldn't be in her child form, or at the very least, look like she did when she was 166 years old(first panel), but it's likely she chose to remain a child for Sarah. Dan's commentary about it all being revealed before then end of Sister III makes me hopeful that Sarah doesn't only know Pandora as a kid.
  4. NP Friday June 16, 2017

She might be mildly disappointed that her shrink spell has the same limits at the TFG considering she's able to push the limits of FV5 for someone like Greg. And I believe she will find out about Rhoda's magic sometime soon, and be a little envious that Rhoda is better at shrinking, but will likely understand why.
  5. Story Wednesday June 14, 2017

Everyone could have some sort of affinity, but based on how difficult it was for Jerry to detect Sarah's, maybe there's a factor in how strong the Fairy connection is that determines how likely a person's affinity would manifest, like someone who's ancestry has had 3-4 points where someone in the family hooked up with another magic user vs someone who's family maybe only had the one Elf who's descendants only married muggles.
  6. Story Wednesday June 14, 2017

It might still have been that way for several centuries, then there was a shift that made magical bloodlines not an important requirement for royalty, the last system change may have been a factor, maybe Tedd isn't the first seer in his family tree, and one of his ancestors was able to get kickstart the family business of monster hunting shortly after the system change.
  7. Story Wednesday June 14, 2017

Really? I kind of think after this encounter with Jerry Pandora knows everything about the Susan and Diane that Jerry knows. I think she did know of Susan and Diane, Susan especially is one of the main group of Tedd's friends so Pandora would definitely know about her, and if she followed Ellen, Nanase, Grace or Justin around at MSHS, she would have encountered Diane. But as Pandora states in the comic, she either never made any connection between the two and Adrian, or if there was any connection between Susan and Diane that Pandora could see, she likely shrugged it off at the time as not important. I think it was Tuesday that Pandora met with Heka, she left to see him on Sunday evening, got to Egypt Monday , searched around a bit for Heka's Library and chatted with him Tuesday, and probably left Tuesday evening and made it back Wednesday. If she immediately went to Susan's place that would mean that Pandora did notice something odd about her, but initially shrugged it off as not important, after being told by Heka about the lie, Pandora could have been all "Is that why I sense something familiar about Susan?" She might not have known about Jerry allying himself to Susan though so seeing another Immortal watching Susan sleeping would have likely triggered Pandora's "she's family, protect her!" reflex, especially considering she knows about 3 other Immortals that have been meddling with Tedd and his friends, one of which she knows she needs to tear to shreds.
  8. Story Wednesday June 14, 2017

Yeah, but Mama Kitsune could still try to follow family tradition, just that she's doing it differently than what her sister did. There's also the fact they for some reason, they decided to live within the MSHS school district rather than move somewhere in the MNHS district. Of course they would have moved in to their home before Noriko took off and Mama Kitsune developed her dislike of Adrian and didn't feel it was worth it to try to move somewhere else.
  9. Story Wednesday June 14, 2017

The whole "between my bloodline and Edward's" and "It always was for my family" lines are what I base my comment on, I can't really say how it was for Edward's family but I get the impression that Noriko's family would have been all about tradition and ensuring that those traditions get passed to the next generation, Mama Kitsune's treatment of Nanase early on is strong evidence, expecting Nanase to study all the time and such even though she's supposed to become a housewife, having other skills would go a long way to ensuring finding a mate, and it would be expected that a potential mate would be equally skilled and such. There's also the possibility that Mama Kitsune knew for a while that Nanase was a potentially strong magic user and wanted to make sure she was prepared to find a suitable mate. Maybe Mama Kitsune's homophobia was along the lines of "noo, you can't be gay! My sister failed our family in continuing the line so you're our best hope!
  10. Story Wednesday June 14, 2017

That is true, my point was that based on what Noriko had said, it would seem like those in their family who are born with strong magic are encouraged to find mates who are also of strong magic to ensure that the next generation would be able to carry on the family business. So yeah, while Nanase's Great Great Grandmother might already be a legendary monster hunter, if she encountered Adrian, even if all she knew of him was that he was a wizard, she might have considered him worthy to father a child with her. Of course, yes there are complications to how this would occur, like Adrian believing it impossible to have kids, maybe she didn't plan on actually telling him, a one night stand maybe, he would likely have allowed it to happen in a "Well, I can't get her pregnant so no harm in indulging" and she just never sees him again.
  11. Story Wednesday June 14, 2017

They also speak fluent French, and in the late 1800's there were a number of Japanese moving to France for periods of time, IF Adrian was living in France while Nanase's Great Great Grandmother was living there and if she was also a legendary monster hunter. Maybe they had an encounter?

Maybe he was cheating for the halibut.
  14. Story Wednesday June 14, 2017

Adrian wouldn't have been teaching them at the time of Susan's and Diane's conceptions, Edward and Noriko would have been out of high school for a few years, had recently been married and was expecting Tedd at the time, Adrian was still very much in contact with them though and it doesn't seem like he would have had the time or even the desire to pose as Mr Pompoms, marry Mrs Pompoms and have a child with her while cheating and having a child with someone else, and then cheating again several years later while Edward and Noriko's marriage was falling apart. Although, maybe Noriko did cheat on Edward with Adrian? I mean yeah Edward and Adrian aren't on very good terms, but Edward didn't seem all "you slept with my wife!" when Adrian called him asking for help with the boar issue. Unless Adrian wasn't given a choice in the matter, but Edward still blamed him for Noriko taking such extreme measure, there's also the fact that Adrian should have also told them that he couldn't have children unless Noriko didn't believe it? I dunno, and offspring of Noriko and Adrian could explain a half sibling for Tedd that's 1/4 Immortal. I want to think that it's Mr Pompoms that's the connection here, unless all the times we've seen him in Susan's flashbacks have his face blanked out is a red herring. A theory I just had last night, was that maybe Adrian is the father of multiple children, Mr Pompoms might be the most recent offspring (if you don't count my earlier theory), but throughout his life, Adrian live in many countries. If he lived in Germany, he might have had a relationship with a Dunkel, in France maybe a Verres, in England maybe a Tolkiberry or Brown, or rather, women who's children eventually ended up in those families The possibilities are endless. I left the Kitsune Family out mainly because of another theory that seems very likely given recent information, that the reason that Tara saw royal heritage in Nanase, is because her ancestor also was the child of an Mortal and Fairy, I dunno if that means that Adrian specifically is her ancestor though, it was implied that Nanase's family of monster hunters goes back quite a ways and while we have no idea of how old Adrian is, it'd be hard to say whether he's related to Nanase, or if it was another Elf that started her family line.
  15. Story Wednesday June 14, 2017

Ok I can see the page now, and it really is looking like Adrian is related to Diane and Susan, how exactly though? He couldn't have been Mr Pompoms himself, he would probably have been preoccupied with Edward and Noriko, Tedd wouldn't have been born yet when Diane and Susan were conceived. So if Adrian isn't Diane and Susan's father, then he's more likely their grandfather, and Pandora's "of course THEY were his" might imply that Mr Pompoms had a brother, either half brother or twin, and each of them are Susan's and Diane's fathers, which would make them cousins. The fact they look very similar is much like how Tedd and Nanase look very similar.
  16. NP Wednesday June 14, 2017

I wonder if she was also in a kind of hang up over the type of spells she was getting while dealing with energy buildups like Elliot was. Of course Ellen didn't have to met some strange requirements for getting over the build ups, but it would make sense if the first new spell she'd get after the buildups stopped was one that had nothing to do with transformations.

  18. http://www.egscomics.com/?id=2358 Pandora "Box" definitely has what she learned about Tedd on her mind. I dunno if she's debating whether to say anything to Sarah about it though. A thought came to me earlier, I wonder if Sarah would be able to figure out that "Box" is Adrian's mother. I mean Sarah knows that Adrian is half immortal through both Nanase telling the group about him fighting Abraham, as well as Jerry telling her, Grace and Susan that he'd be someone to go to for any help. Sarah also knows that "Box" is well beyond the 200 year mark. It wouldn't be a stretch to think that an Immortal that old might have been romantically involved with a human at some point and had a child. I guess it might depend on what "Box" says next whether she gives away any other clues, but considering Sarah was quick to pick up on "Box" having "empowered" Moperville and all that, she's smart enough that she should pick up on "Box's" relation to Adrian.
  19. Story, Friday June 9, 2017

Yeah, Grace was there for that, but she didn't follow Edward and Nanase around the corner to hear Nanase mention the reason Not_Tengu was there. Although, she does have very good ears in that form.... still there isn't any evidence that she heard anything. To be honest, Grace probably does have enough information from Adrian to make her own guess that the legendary monster hunter might be Tedd's mom. I mean if Edward's career with the Paranormal Division was due to Adrian's guidance, one would assume that Noriko would have followed a similar career path, it was possible that Edward and Noriko were to be partners like Wolf and Cranium. Yeah the way Adrian's been treating students he considers to have potential, it doesn't seem like Nanase's fully made a connection between him and her mom. I would guess that Nanase at least understands now why he picked her, Justin, Noah and Grace and Ellen, he would have sensed their magic potential, or in the case of Grace, something else special, I'd be surprised if Nanase didn't jump to the conclusion that Noah had magic. I wonder if Justin mentioned Noah to any of the others after the dragon fight, Grace didn't recognize him and Elliot was unconscious through it, and Elliot's obviously spent more time playing basketball with Noah after the incident.
  20. Story Monday June 12, 2017

This is one of those cases where Sarah should have enough info that even if this is all Pandora says, Sarah should connect the dots. She knows Adrian's half Immortal, and she probably knows how rare elves are, so she can't really assume that any Immortal she sees is going to have kids, thing is, Pandora is likely aware that Sarah knows about Adrian since she knows that Nanase knows and isn't obligated to withhold that information. Pandora also seems to be on a bit of an honesty kick at the moment, started with Disco Wizard, and she's become more aware of the harm she's done to people, she also likes Sarah so I can see her opening up about this with her. This I can believe, maybe that was the lie she told herself, that Immortals weren't responsible for Humans being the way they are. Maybe she had convinced herself that any offspring they would have with Humans would be sterile so that there's be less temptation to have kids. I dunno, there's probably another reason why Immortals rarely mate with Humans. But still, the whole "half immortals cannot have children" statement seems to be getting some large cracks in the foundation. It would also make my theory that Adrian might have been involved with a woman on a few ocassions in the past, one of which may have gotten pregnant and given birth to Susan's father or grandparent. Dunno if that affects Susan's relationship to Diane, I mean Susan's dad could still have cheated and ended up getting another woman pregnant with Diane, so they'd be half sisters, but it could also be likely that Mr Pompoms had a sibling who's Diane's father or mother and they'd be cousins, or maybe Adrian got 2 women pregnant at different times and their offspring had families that each lead to Susan and Diane being cousins 2-3 times removed or something like that. It's possible that after learning that she had lied to herself about elves not being able to have children, she might have originally thought there was a resemblance when she first saw Susan but was "Nah, that's impossible" but now she was like "is it possible?" and went to check for herself, and she found Jerry, and they probably chatted a bit after we last saw him, he mentioned his instincts from his previous life telling him there's a connection between Susan and Diane, and Pandora ends up filling in the gaps for him, while being even more convinced that her recklessness in the kinds of information she passed down through her lives, not only is going to potentially cause Magic to change, but might also have prevented her son from being able to raise a family of his own. Yeah Adrian has Noah as his family, I'm talking more about having a wife and raising children from birth and such.

So for scan/paste, the right hand determines sex, but for fusion copy, it's the left hand? The fact that this is possible hints that Ellen could at some point use the fusion copy with a male and become male. Ellen may not have an gender dysphoria that makes her need to be male, but that doesn't rule out being male for fun or something.
  22. Story Monday June 12, 2017

Well, guess Sarah doesn't have to figure it out on her own that Adrian is Box's son, she's going to hear it from Box herself.

  24. Story, Friday June 9, 2017

They've managed to keep the fact that they have magic a secret for a while apparently, Grace only knows because of the emissary and she so far hasn't approached Rhoda yet, and Sarah or Tedd hasn't approached Catalina because Grace told them about it. On the other side of the coin, Catalina has yet to approach Elliot about being Cheerleadra, I'm not certain that she would easily believe the decoy Cheerleadra sighting that Edward set up, but who knows.

Yeah I once used Window Blinds from them back in the win95-98 days. Oddly enough It made the windows look like what winXP windows looked like, but when we upgraded to XP I switched to the classic look. Lol
