  1. Story Monday October 24, 2016

Chances are, mechanical clocks, ones with gears and a pendulum for the timing, might work, but electronic quartz bases clocks won't, at least not accurately, she could probably try to simulate an electronic clock, but it might be too fast or too slow if she can't accurately simulate the electronics. Same goes for this, if Sarah doesn't know the process of how computers store information, how can she even attempt to accurately access it beyond what's initially displayed. Where the datacenter is located is irrelevant, the fact I'm trying to explain is Sarah could try, but the illusion would attempt to take from Sarah's imagination, there's a good chance that if Sarah just types in a random thing she knows little to nothing about, she'd either get something that's obviously fake, or nothing. Alternately for something local, she could open Windows Explorer (the file manager in Windows, not Internet Explorer) and if she had used Explorer before, the GUI would appear for it, but the drives, folders and files would either not exist, or be loosely based on Sarah's experiences if she ever rooted through Explorer on her computer, so nothing there would be accurate either. She may also be able to load up Solitaire or Minesweeper, but chances are she'd have a 100% win rate.
  2. Story Monday October 24, 2016

I just used google as an example. Aside from what's displayed on the screen at the time of the spell, Anything Sarah tries to load up will be drawn from her imagination, the accuracy of what she loads will be entirely dependent on her memories of websites or programs, hence it being likely that she can load google, but searching for random stuff will result in random inaccurate stuff. Heck, it's likely that even the stuff displayed on screen at the time of the spell cast would quickly become inaccurate if Sarah tried scrolling down the page, because her imagination would be forced to fill in the unseen stuff. That makes books and paper documents a better source because it has physical surfaces (each page) that the spell can scan and give an accurate representation in the snapshot.
  3. Story: Friday, October 28, 2016

That seems really advanced and probably another spell altogether, though it might just be as simple as remembering how she set up a previous simulation and just willing a new snapshot to change to it.
  4. Wednesday, October 26, 2016

Yeah, Mall Girl was outside influence because Ashley made Elliot think of big boobs, but it's still Elliot thinking about it that affected the form, just like thinking about Grace and Ellen created Gracelyn and thinking about the Uryuom suits created Cheerleadra 2.0
  5. Story Monday October 24, 2016

That's why I think trying to get information from a computer, beyond what's displayed on the screen at the time of the spell cast, would be impossible because it'd be just like having a conversation with a person, the stuff they say would come from Sarah's imagination, so probably trying to use a computer would probably bring up stuff that her imagination comes up with, though I would expect that if Sarah say, brought up google, it would load google because she would know what the site looks like, but trying to use it to search for stuff wouldn't give accurate results.
  6. Wednesday, October 26 2016

Point of information, Tedd's default female form via just his magic mark with no extras applied has smaller boobs than Sarah. Like I said, this seems more like the Triple Girly Tedd pinup, but with the hair down instead of in pigtails. If you look at the bangs, they're only slightly longer but still comparable to Tedd's male form bangs.
  7. Story: Friday, October 28, 2016

That plus Sarah-Tedd's blushy reaction is prime OT3 fuel. Since Grace isn't acting quite the way that Sarah had planned, I am willing to bet that Grace is running off of Sarah's subconscious expectations or desires, like how Fox or Susan's Faeries are directed. The problem is, this is somewhat Grace like behaviour, but Sarah was still in Tedd's body, so she kinda set herself up for this. I wonder what would have happened if she let herself (well her body that's also currently standing frozen) loose. Would we have even more OT3 fuel?
  8. Wednesday, October 26, 2016

Well, Elliot's standard female morph in general is apparently difficult for him to get exactly what he wants, which is why he opted to keep it a simple as possible for when he was burning off excess energy.
  9. Story Friday October 21, 2016

This kinda goes back to whether Sarah could learn to do things in the simulation while maintaining accuracy, but if she could take a snapshot, and dissect, magnify and various other forensic stuff, she might be able to find issues faster than standard medical tests. Then again, would her spell be that detailed and include stuff like cancers and infections and such?
  10. Story Monday October 24, 2016

Because chances are, if she doesn't know what the button does, then she'll speculate on it, if she questions whether it might trigger a trap, then it might trigger a trap when it reality it just buzzes room service.
  11. Wednesday, October 26, 2016

Well we know a persons thoughts can affect the results of spells, it's happened to Elliot on several occasions, Gracelyn and Cheerleadra 2.0 being prime examples, the fact that Rhoda said "and it will be mutual!" might trigger it to affect them both.
  12. Story Friday October 21, 2016

If she was studying to become a brain surgeon, that might work.
  13. Wednesday, October 26 2016

She reported that any enchantment on the punch was gone, which meant she would have scanned for enchantments somehow. Yeah it could be an addon ability. Still not ruling out the theory that spells can have different configurations between people. Pandora specifically said "The last person he found with your spell" which would mean exact same spell and not a variant. Of course Pandora could have exaggerated the truth somewhat but yeah, I wasn't one of those that immediately thought of Cranium, heck, I still think that her spell is more of a mind projection, allowing her to view a location in real time, rather than creating a snapshot, but again, we don't have much info to verify any of it.

They always are. What you expect will change? That they will get into visible superposition? Note: I suspect that shear determination CAN fuel magic. See here. Also when Ellen zapped Vlad. Ellen was determined to protect Nanase which may have affected the beam. However, this is a case where there's supposed to be hijinks, so Rhoda may or may not get what she wants. Or maybe she actually succeeds which further surprises Pandora. Makes you wonder who the will of magic likes to troll the most, mortals or Immortals. It's becoming a pattern really: "Self transformation blindness is stronger than other people's change blindness" "huh, she noticed first." "Rhoda will talk her out of this crazy plan" "wait, she's going to go along with it?" Next is: "The spell can't affect multiple things." "she did it? how?!?"
  15. Story Friday October 21, 2016

The problem is less one of getting answers out of them and more one of them giving the answers that she wants/expects to hear instead of the truth. If she asks them whodunit, they may name someone whom she already suspects rather than the actual person who dun it. Yes. This risk is actually present in normal interrogating as well, only in normal interrogating suspects can only try that if they know what you suspect. Which is why you need to ask correct questions, ideally some which you don't know answer to but can verify. Like, "where is the body". Commentary from the storified "Question mark": So yeah, no chance of Sarah being able to interrogate anyone with her spell....well...not directly, she could find information through documents she looks through that she could then use to interrogate a real person, but that's it.

I think it was a simple canceling out not really due to the magic system itself, but how Immortals themselves can give marks, Ashley yearned for the ability to transform herself and others, but the fact that she would refused to use such a power recklessly was stronger than the yearning. Pandora would have been looking at Ashley's personality to know this. If Tedd did that with Elliot, then Tedd probably is on his way to becoming an Immortal. There are likely some elements that are obvious. Tedd could probably see the links between elements and be like "Ok so this does something to this, but what does that do?" Maybe in the case of Elliot, Tedd noticed that there were elements missing in his morphing ability, elements that allowed for male forms, and wondered why that would be the case. There really isn't a whole lot we know about Craniums ability beyond her being able to observe locations without being there and the example showing her standing outside a men's locker room. It's possible that she enters a simulated snapshot of the area around her and is skilled enough that she can move around efficiently and be able to scan for enchants without affecting the accuracy of the simulation, but that's just speculation based on the fact that people were quick to say that Cranium was the person with Sarah's spell that Edward found that was strongarmed into DGB.

I don't think he would do that. The best Sarah could probably do is simulate abilities that produce a visual effect, like morphing, although what Sarah did wasn't really a morph, it seemed more like an instant change that the gradual morphs Dan has shown us. Granted it might have been due to a lack of panel space, but I think if Dan truly wanted us to know she could use other people's abilities, he'd have made it more clear if it was a proper morph.

I know that's not always the case, I've had several guildmates at some point or another bail on a dungeon run because their girlfiend, boyfriend, husband, or wife called them to bed. Then again there was also the guild leader who bragged about being given an object resembling a thornless cactus from another guildmember....but then we also joked that she broke his...well thats probably enough detail there.
  19. Wednesday, October 26 2016

Considering the body she's currently in. That would give a completely different set of implications.
  20. Wednesday, October 26 2016

I think it may be based on how Sarah imagines a girly form for Tedd. Sarah has seen Tedd in various female forms before, so this one is either one she's seen (but we haven't) or yeah, Sarah just imagined a random female form that she felt suited Tedd. The latter does have implications of how well Sarah has gotten to know Tedd over the past year.
  21. Wednesday, October 26, 2016

I think the fact that they hadn't seen each other naked yet should have been implied by the blushing when Rhoda was describing the time she ate a cookie she enlarged. I'm not sure it's rules that have changed, or just different per region, or just different per person. Dating and how couple progress in a relationship is certainly portrayed differently on TV now than it was 40 years ago, I know back in the late 80's an 90's there was a focus on trying to get teens to make responsible decisions about dating and teen pregnancy and stuff, which I think influenced Dan to a degree here and especially when he created Elliot. I know in real life though is not very consistent, I knew of a few girls that got pregnant around here before they finished 8th grade, and a few others before finishing High School, then again I'm in a small town where there isn't much to do to keep kids out of trouble so many end up going out, finding someone to buy them booze and then getting drunk and having sex.

That instance, yeah he would have been analyzing the enchantment Elliot was under, but he would have been told the same thing Edward had found but without the zap, and I fail to see how analyzing one spell effect lead to an overall theory about why Elliot was getting girly spells. If anything, the insight involved in determining why Elliot kept getting girly spells is the same as Justin's insight, Tedd was adding up all the evidence surrounding Elliot's situation, the fact that Elliot was in a female form when he touched the diamond, the types of spells, maybe something about Elliot's personality factored in. I doubt the spells themselves were like "I have no idea why Elliot has us, but we were told he should." I think that's more a case of recognizing similar elements between spells, also seeing visual results helps greatly as well. Tedd watching a morph occur is more simple to figure out basic mechanics of the morph. There's likely more to it though, like spells that have various mechanics tied together like Susan's fairy vs Nanase's fairy doll, Tedd's seen Nanase's fairy doll in action prior to seeing Susan summon Nase so he might have recognized Nanase's fairy doll's first person feature in Susan's spell, when he said there were a lot of moving parts to Susan's spell, it probably meant there were aspects of the spell he had never seen before so he wasn't sure what they did yet, also some of those unknown parts might affect the known parts to do something that Tedd wouldn't expect. Dan's commentary for the page fits nicely with this. " I've probably made the analogy before, but Tedd is able to see a sort of blueprint for how a spell works. Some can be looked at and make sense at a glance. Others require a closer look, or might just be baffling altogether. " I think if Tedd had seen Cranium's spell in action at some point, even if they aren't the exact same spell, they might share some similar elements that would have helped Tedd piece together what Sarah's spell is doing, as it is, he might need Sarah to use the spell several more times to let him get a good look at everything, fortunately she does have to use the spell a lot so...maybe Sarah should share Grace's room for the week?

Tedd wasn't analyzing spells in the other cases though, in the eureka instance, he just made a compelling theory. In the other two cases, well...the first was Tedd obviously emotionally charged after Grace telling him that the reason for the theme of her party was for him, and the second was maybe not as charged, but thinking about Grace still choosing him over other guys at MSHS had an effect on his confidence. Also, it should be noted that aside from the card tournament case, Tedd never glowed during other times when we've seen him analyze spells. There is a difference between Tedd looking at a spell and seeing how it works, which is when I refer to his insight which is how he referred to it as, and a realization about something profound like finding out that being gender fluid is a real thing. In the case of when Tedd used his insight on his insight, there was definite overlap of insight and realization of something profound. Tedd's Magic insight is not.....hmmm maybe it is kind of the same as Justin's insight. I mean, they're both based on perception of what's happening, Tedd mainly probably sees auras and whatever and links them into an understanding of spell mechanics, Justin sees body language, personality and events and links them into how a person feels or thinks. Mind you, in Justin's case it's like a large puzzle where you can usually figure out what the image is even if it's not complete, but Tedd sees the whole picture and just needs to figure out what it means which in some cases can be easier than others. To butcher a quote from Ellen, it's like if you were shown a picture of a platypus when you had never seen a platypus before, you wouldn't know what it was until someone told you, that was basically Tedd's reaction when he saw Sarah's spell, if she didn't tell him what it was, he wouldn't have known immediately. Hmm, there is one other case though worth mentioning. When Tedd used the gauntlet to see the whale. the light would imply a surge of energy which makes sense given what the gauntlet is doing at that moment, but Tedd's eyes...could that be Tedd's insight into magic being put on overdrive by the energy surge? In any case, the glow isn't consistent enough to be related to Tedd's magic insight, of course, the insight might not be all that Tedd's "dangerous rarity" is about so the glow can be related to something else, heck, maybe the glow is related to the flash that Luke saw when he tried looking at Tedd's (well he originally tried looking at George but Tedd was in frame) aura, it might just be Tedd's aura becoming visible under special circumstances.
  24. Story Friday October 21, 2016

That basically brings us back to the debate of whether Sarah could use a computer in her simulation. A book or physical document is one thing, the spell could scan each page easily enough, but can it translate all the magnetic 1's and 0's on a disk drive or CD or memory card? I can see Sarah being able to see what was displayed on the screen at the time she entered the simulation, but I can't see her being able to navigate a browser or open digital documents. How could Sarah's spell accurately simulate a person's memories and knowledge?
  25. Wednesday, October 26 2016

That's why I added that it could just be a reflex for anything Tedd has a strong emotional reaction to. Like for a split second (or a couple seconds) Tedd's emotions cause him to radiate energy, each case shown the glow is either a soft, few seconds long glow, or an intense flash. The flash for the insight on the insight, could be from Tedd's realization that he had a magical insight that was helping him learn about people's spells and such. Also Tedd has on a couple occasions ended up with a rush of energy, one was shortly after a flash, and one without any glow or flash, but it might also be related.
