....huh...That actually sounds plausible, it probably would have been more difficult to get Pandora attention normally. Magic might not be able to act directly either, hence Disco Wizard being an emissary. If DW had been told where and how to find Pandora and try to warn her directly that what she was doing was bad, she might not have taken it seriously. Instead, get her interested, make her wonder why someone is going into a person's dreams and giving them information about what she's doing, what kind of motivation is there. Well, she's got it.

I meant in terms of would you rather have magic disrupted for a decade or two but otherwise life goes on? Or mass destruction because some jerks ended up with atomic breath?

No, she assessed Good Tom's possible spell before she started asking people that question.
  7. Story Friday August 5, 2016

Whoops, fixed the link, coulda sword I copied that right page, I even linked it to someone else shortly after posting that. Yeah, it's possible because even without the possibility of a system change, public knowledge of magic and how to get spells would cause widespread chaos, a system change would be much better compared to that. Still seems like a coincidence. Shortly after the first incident with Cheerleadra and the fire golem, someone who we assume is Arthur, says "adapt or die", At first I had thought it meant "well, we can't keep magic a secret anymore so we must focus on keeping it's accessibility a secret." But I'm thinking there's something deeper about it now I think if Arthur wanted to provoke a system change, he'd be having the agents go out more often, but that would mean him and the agents would be affected by the system change too. Earth has been lucky that the alien contact they've had soo far has been friendly, having magic could have been what had Humans and Uryuoms on even footing if you can compare magic to tech level. Having magic change would be like having the world's powergrid fail, sure they'd be able to get it back eventually, but they're vulnerable until they do.
  8. Story Friday August 5, 2016

Arthur Arthur may not care about trying to cover up magic's existence anymore, but "the accessibility of magic has always been the real secret." which falls in line with Magic's will to not go mainstream. Does this mean some people in DGB are aware of magic's will and system changes? or is it something that was told to the organization at it's founding and it's become a vague thing that they must do or else bad stuff would happen? So Arthur and Disco Wizard have similar goals, but at least it seems Disco Wizard wants to try to do it with little to no casualties whereas Arthur doesn't seem to care if there are any casualties as long as the secret is maintained.
  9. Story Friday August 5, 2016

Disco Wizard did assume that Immortals had forgotten about magic having a will, plus as he said, the spell he's using only lets him know who Grace is when in her dreams and pretty much only the details of what needs to be said. He knows that he's dealing with an Immortal, but very likely doesn't know which Immortal, and Pandora's probably been able to lay low long enough for most Immortals to have reset at least once or twice, maybe even thrice. The fact that he detected a bit of instability might have hinted to him that she's overdue but he wouldn't really know how long overdue. The fact she was recalling info from her previous life and the fact that he knows when the last change was would be a good indicator of how old she currently is. Question, is there an event in real history of a warmongering horde surprisingly getting slaughtered by the defense?
  10. San Diego I think is the big comic con which would likely draw the number of people that would create a line to Mexico, but there is a Chicago Comic Con that would be the more likely con that Sarah and Susan would go to, and it would fit the criteria for the joke.
  11. Story Friday August 5, 2016

I am really questioning her sanity level here, not particularly how sane she is, but how insane she is. If she was as insane as we originally thought back when she announced that she was going to "destroy the world", she'd likely would have told Disco Wizard to shove it and continued with her plans, but instead felt what DW was saying was familiar, and recalled a point in her previous life where she experienced what DW was talking about, and realized that wasn't what she wanted to happen, I'd say she's sane enough still to begrudgingly agree to fix things. Of course as I said before, it may not be that easy with all that's going on. I'm not saying that Pandora wouldn't try something else for Adrian though but maybe it wouldn't be as extreme.
  12. Story Friday August 5, 2016

Ah ha, Tedd's "dangerous rarity" must mean that he's not only immune to a system change, but would likely be able to quickly determine what has changed and how to adjust. I'm guessing people like Tedd are rare because they'd be a form of safeguard to prevent magic from being completely forgotten. I wonder if they are born at a certain interval, like 1 every century, or only when there is a possibility of a system change.
  13. Story Friday August 5, 2016

Chronological order: Friday night: Sarah and Tedd were marked. Saturday morning: Sarah discovers her mark, spends all day trying to figure out what spell she had. Saturday night: Elliot and Ashley's date, Sarah's conversation with Pandora. Sunday morning: Pandora enters Grace's dream and has her conversation with Disco Wizard.
  14. Story Friday August 5, 2016

I don't know if she'll be able to unmark anyone without awakening them, but chances are, those that were marked, like Sarah, might not have enough of their own energy pool to be able to cast their spells after Pandora fixes the clog so they'll likely believe it was just some temporary thing (other than Sarah who had a fairly in depth discussion with Pandora about her spell and stuff). Justin's already been awakened, but it would really depend on how much of an energy pool he had developed in ASMA training. I get the feeling though that it won't be easy for Pandora to fix this, and I'm wondering if Voltaire is pro-system change.

Raises hand. Seconded. Also, from Wednesday's reaction thread: I'm giving myself all the cookies.
  16. NP, Thursday August 4, 2016

It's a good thing I caught that you said "one of my" despite my just waking up, I was soo gonna call you out and say "I'm pretty sure your standard line of late has involved how hot Pandora is."
  17. Story: Wed, Aug 3, 2016

Yeah, it's possible that Tedd's rarity could prevent Disco Wizard from using that kind of spell to get into his dreams, then again, Luke's spell lets him see auras, Tedd's aura could just be extremely bright and not a form of magic defense, Luke being a newbie probably doesn't know of ways to brace for such things if there are any.
  18. Now I wanna see Ellen doing this for Nanase.
  19. Tedd was probably basing "the enchantment should last x long" prior to knowing about resistance, but there was the side effect that if you told the person your enchanting that the enchantment would last 30 minutes, then the person would be more likely to be like "Ok 30 minutes is up!" and disenchant themself without realizing all they had to do was resist it. Well I would imagine that once they left Moperville, Sarah would be the first to revert to normal because she doesn't have enough of her own energy pool to maintain it, Susan has used magic for a couple years now so would have a bigger reserve but I don't think it'd last more than a few hours.
  20. NP, Thursday August 4, 2016

This would certainly explain why we haven't seen anything out of the ordinary happen to Catalina. As I said before, she's always had cat-like behaviour so it would be easy for anyone to assume she'd get cat related spells.
  21. NP, Thursday August 4, 2016

They haven't completely confirmed it by asking Rhoda to show them her back. But they've connected the dots which makes sense to them. Susan got to pick her mark because Helena and Demetrius let her choose, the marks doesn't HAVE to fit the spell it gives, and Pandora has shown that she can choose the mark herself to troll someone, but for the most part it seems the mark would be associated with the spell by default.
  22. NP, Thursday August 4, 2016

As far as we know, Grace was just shown the marks, and not told who has them. She knows Dex's mark for sure because she's seen it on him, she can then assume the flame is Justin's because of the fiery aura he had when he used his spell, the size change mark would be Rhoda's because of the boar, she hasn't actually seen or heard of Catalina doing anything cat-like other than just her normal behaviour based on how the MNHS gang describe her so she would come to the conclusion that Catalina would be prime for a cat-like mark and spell. Now that I've seen this NP, I'm thinking Dan threw us a red herring in Squirrel Prophet.
  23. NP, Thursday August 4, 2016

You know what though? Grace might be wrong about Catalina. The Paw mark in that list could be a puppy paw.
  24. Story: Wed, Aug 3, 2016

Space Whale warned Tedd that something was causing an energy build up around Moperville. It assumed it was caused by one or more beings of great power which I guess is a good enough clue for Immortals, but beyond that, it didn't seem to know anything about Magic having a will and could bring about a system change. Heck it didn't seem to know that Magic was supposed to flow to the other half of the world through Moperville and that it was a clog that was causing the buildup. So I don't see Space Whale being behind Disco Wizard's contact with Grace.
  25. Sarah's Magic

Edward: "Sarah, because of your spell, you're going to have to live at our house until we figure out what to do." Sarah: "That's fine, people keep thinking Grace, Tedd and I should be together anyway."
